UnderRail – Old School Isometric Turn-Based RPG – Now Available On Steam

Stygian Software has informed us about the release of UnderRail; an old school turn-based isometric indie role playing game that focuses on exploration and combat.

The game is set in a distant future, when the life on the Earth’s surface has long since been made impossible and the remnants of humanity now dwell in the UnderRail, a vast system of metro station-states that, it seems, are the last bastions of a fading race.

In UnderRail, the player takes control of one of the denizens of such a station-state whose life is about to become all that much more interesting and dangerous, as the protagonist is caught midst the conflicting factions of the UnderRail as the violently struggle to survive in the harsh underground environment.

Here are the game’s key features:

  • Great character customization possibilities through stats, skills, feats, items and more that allows for many different play-styles
  • Tactical turn based combat that utilizes weapons, energy shields, grenades, psi abilities and more
  • Vast underground world to explore: city states, abandoned building complexes, natural caverns, secret areas and more
  • Elaborate item crafting system

The game is priced at 14,19€ on Steam and comes with a 6% discount until December 22nd.

Enjoy!

    1. Where does it say the DRM for UnderRail is optional ? Can you install the game without the Steam client if purchased from Steam ?

    2. Thanks! It would be nice if these purchase options were mentioned in the article or is this more of a press release.

  1. We need more games like this! Ive been craving this type of experience for quite sometime. Im not sure if this will be the game for me, but i do want something similar >_>

  2. If it has half the fun of Shadowrun, it´s worth buying. I really LOVE Shadowrun, top 5 games ever. Waiting for the next game, and until it doesn´t show up, why not to try this one? I will give it a try.

    1. Keep in mind that Underrail is way more complex: full character creation and specialization, huge maps with lots of quests, reactivity and choices & consequences (related mostly to your character build)

      1. Mabe it can be good, mabe not.
Shadowrun is quality over quantity. But if Underrail can keep the quality in a game this huge, it will become epic.
