News flash everyone! It seems that Ubisoft wants to earn PC gamers’ trust back. While the French company did let down its PC fans with the recent ports of both Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Watch_Dogs, it seems that it may – or may not – fall into the same mistake again.
Speaking with MCV at Gamescom, Ubisoft claimed that it will further optimize its titles, that it will continue to improve how they create and support games for PC, and that it does listen to feedback from players.
“We recognise the importance and needs of PC gamers, and want to continue to improve how we create and support games for PC,” told MCV Ubisoft’s European boss Alain Corre and continued:
“We listen to feedback from players and continue to adapt accordingly; for instance, we switched to a simple, one- time activation for our PC games – a standard practice in the industry. We’re also doing our best to bring our games to PC at the same time as the console versions. Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4, for example, will be released simultaneously on console and PC, and this will continue to be the goal for all our major titles.”
Alain concluded that Ubisoft is committed to ‘improving the optimisation of our games for each platform on which they’re released – including PC.’
For your interest, we’ve already requested tech interview for both Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
If Ubisoft wants to earn PC gamers’ trust back then it shouldn’t have any problems answering our questions.

Ubisoft is being inconsistent with PC gaming for as long I can remember. They make a few good PC games, then screw with other few, they apologise and make another bunch of good games, and then screw it again…

and theyre still one of the few that releases pc games with all the bells and whistles you would want, thus the reason why i will pick ubisoft over EA anytime of the day. A much more versatile company and willing to change, unlike shitty EA.

Ya I agree . DICE did a great job with BF3 and BF4 . Leagues ahead of the console version and yet works very well .
But they killed C&C and Sim City .
Also Syndicate, Dragon Age 2, Crysis 3, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Dead Space 3, Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, Ultima Forever: QftA, Dungeon Keeper, Need for Speed and of course Mass Effect 3 ending.
+ dungeon keeper. which was a mobile p2w title instead of a proper DK game.
thanks to kickstarter and Subterranean Games “War for the Overworld” is the new, improved DK that EA can’t even dream of making such an amazing game. but still i prefer EA over ubisoft.

bf4 is sitll a broken mess. ea games are better optimzied cause their engine is better and friendlier, but their games are nowhere near ubisoft quality. to each their own, but i have boycotted ea games completely. lets not even mention the fact that uplay has more features than origin, totally unescusable for ea to have such a shitty service, digital distribution is not new.
BF4 isn’t even near a complete mess anymore, it’s really enjoyable now. Are you one of those who blame the ”netcode” for every death? Or think it’s even possible to have a CS like netcode in a game like battlefield? Or think ACE is OP?

Seeing is believing I guess, just watching how they jewed the PC version of Watch Dogs is enough so NO I naturally dont believe a word they say before I see their next game in action and can see IF they can actually max out a game for PC.

Only well optimized Assassin’s Creed game was Revelations and it was ported to PC by UBISOFT Bucharest . Since then , they have been giving the task to idiots at UBISOFT Kiev . They suck at PC optimization . Despite being unoptimized , I think AC4 was second best optimized game in the series , just because it was huge improvement over broken garbage that AC3 was , but still far enough from being perfect . Luckily , the game takes place on different smaller islands with 2 or 3 hub worlds . Due to that , the game performed good enough to be enjoyed , unlike AC3 .

It’s easy to apologize, but really meaning it is another, releasing the game the same day as consoles doesn’t make it better for me or anybody else if the game is actaully stripped down in order to sell more console versions.
But I think that’s all they think they’ve done wrong is releasing a little bit later, this is just PR nothing else.
It’s really useless talking to them if they’ll just use NVIDIA features as an answer to everything you ask and would like to see what they would say if asked why AC Unity was downgraded and has that awful yellow tint now.

Did you forget about absolutely crappy por of Splinter Cell Double Agent, and Prince of Persia 2008 which PC version, despite never had any DRM (thats good news), also never had an EPILOGUE DLC, which had real and pre-cut ending of game? Pc users never saw actual ending of POP 2008 which is more than just a technical issue.
Also did anyone notticed that Assassins Creed 2 graphics was 1:1 port from consoles with very screwed low detailed LOD and it looked much worse thatn AC1 on PC, and despite that it was very slow, and this was never fixed.
Conviction, Blacklist, Far Cry 3 and few more Uplay powered MP modes in Ubisoft game are technically broken on PC, no dedicated servers, no proper MP features and settings, very unreliable connection with host migrations and session drops and totally unworking matchmaking which makes you wait for game forever.
Oh, Splinter Cell1, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory MP are uplayable now due of broken shadows which are vital for gameplay stealth mechanics, and damn ubi does not even want to release a patch.
R6 Vegas 1 and 2 MP broken, 1st game never ever had a widescreen support.
BGE graphics broken. King Kong had very rare gamer’s editon next version which is lost forever after D2D termination (the only dd store where this game was availalbe for USA) and even owners are screwed, since D2D no longer exist and all the DRM is broken.
Ubitches making lazy and absolutely non future-proof PC ports, that could work a year or two and then getting broken by some driver or hardware or OS update, and Ubi does not even care to fix their games.
I will never ever buy any new Ubi game untill they will fix every freaking old PC game they released, or untill its -75% or -95% sale on Steam, but in this case i may actually buy game the already broken after a year or two, which makes Ubi games techinacally a trash even for 25% or 5% of original price, so i doubt any Ubi made PC game is worth even 5-25% of its original price. Who wants to buy broken pile of assets and code without any technical support and future fixes?

don’t forget to mention Ghost Recon FS too and lies they told about their gameplays that never seen the light. like killing in motion in blacklist, they showcased the game with killing in motion but it wasn’t in the final game.

I bought assassin creed black flag and tried to fix it for 4days, i gave up and downloaded a pirate version and the game worked. How the hell does a pirate version work better than the real version. I will never buy a Ubisoft game ever again.
