Ah, Thief: Deadly Shadows. The first Unreal powered Thief game and the only one that was not developed by Looking Glass. Created by the minds behind Deus Ex (ION Storm), Thief: Deadly Shadows was not as welcomed as the previous parts of this legendary series. Fast forward a couple of years and it’s now considered a truly great game. How times have changed, right?
So, good news everyone as the game is now available on GoG and is compatible with all versions of Windows. Thief: Deadly Shadows features realistic lighting effects which means that each character and object can cast its own shadow. A third person’s view has been made available in addition to the standard first person perspective.
The stealth system that made Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age famous is still in place. You have to stick to the shadows and avoid making noise, as guards will react to anything suspicious. It is also the first game of the series that introduced free roaming. The City, divided into several unlockable districts, is yours to explore. You can interact with the city’s inhabitants: pickpocket, steal, or even mug them for loot.
Thief: Deadly Shadows will cost you ten bucks and can be purchased from here. Enjoy!
