The Wolf Among Us 2 will be using Unreal Engine 5, won’t release in 2023

Telltale Games has announced that The Wolf Among Us 2 will be now using Unreal Engine 5, and that it will not release in 2023. Telltale Games claims that this delay was necessary as the game needs a lot more work. Thus, releasing it in 2023 would mean a rushed product.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any additional details about this game other than its official description.

“Bigby and Snow are returning to untangle more mysteries in the much-anticipated sequel to one of Telltale’s most beloved games, The Wolf Among Us. Award-winning voice actors Adam Harrington and Erin Yvette are back to breathe life into the main characters (Bigby and Snow). The lead writer, creative/game directors, and composer of the original game are back for another trip into the dark universe of Vertigo’s Fables graphic novels in The Wolf Among Us 2.”

  1. I feel their whole shtick with the quick-time events and overly linear story telling got old real quick. Too many projects, 0 innovation and shallow writing is what did them in initially imo. Like even when tackling subjects like romance things would only ever be surface level and wouldnt go anywhere, its all just typical childish video game stuff. For a studio that seemed to be all about story telling i feel their work was just sub par.

    1. I think that’s why I liked Wolf Among Us. The story was new for me even though I could recognize some stuff from general fairy tales and stories, and the best part was there was just one game. Walking Dead became a drag right from season 2 because season 2 came out just a year after the first and having to play as Clementine got boring fast.

  2. “As disappointed as you are hearing this, we feel worse having to say it.”

So this notorious SJW dev studio somehow contrives to play the victim. How predictable. They’ve phrased their ‘apology’ in such a way to guilt trip consumers into not expressing disappointment because doing so might affect the dev’s ‘mental health’. Good grief.

“…doing what’s right for the game while protecting the health of our team.”

Jesus wept. What a pathetic bunch of snowflakes they are. No wonder they failed first time around after investors had pulled the plug. Seems they’re heading for a repeat performance.

I cried a little inside when I read that.

      1. I’m setting up a GoFundMe as we speak in order to help protect the mental health of the team at this difficult time.
