1C Game Studios has just announced a new story-driven adventure game, called The War of the Worlds: Siberia. To celebrate the announcement, the publisher shared an impressive in-engine trailer that you can find below.
The game takes place at the end of the 19th century in Russia, placed in an alternate universe. In the summer of 1896, London was raided by Martian invaders. Players will assume the role of a young student who will attempt yo escape the capital city.
Players will be able to use their fists, sabers, and whatever they can get ahold of to fight back. There will also be some riddles to solve. Plus, you will make discoveries that will tell you about the world of the game. During your fights, you will use contemporary weapons and even makeshift explosives. Players can also expect a skill tree that will allow them to upgrade their character.
Now I have to be honest here. If the devs manage to get close to the visuals that are being displayed here, I’ll be utterly impressed. The trailer states that the gameplay footage is from an early version, and it does not represent the quality of the final game. Still, these visuals look too good for a small dev team. So, I’m curious to see whether the final version will be downgraded.
There is currently no ETA on when The War of the Worlds: Siberia will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy!

I was gonna post "so many war of the worlds games come out lately, but which one wasnt complete trash" but damn, this is AA standards ,well done russia.
Looks like the janky eastern european version of that ps4 exclusive order 1982 or whatever dumb sh*t it was called.
The Order 1886 and yes it was dumb, short and pointless…more like a tech demo for PS4.
It looked good the story was ok(an order vs werewolves) the execution was mediocre.
It was ok for 1 playtrough,if you camed from a PS3 to PS4 The Order 1886 was a huge leap in graphics(ahead of it's time) but that was it,Graphics and Story.
Game seems to have potential ! Look forward to this dev team's work.
First impression makes it at least look much better than other trash AA/AAA games released lately this year.
Seems to be the same dev TEAM which worked behind the previous game "Caliber" (2023), which is a free-to-play, team-based, tactical third- and first-person shooter.
So this new game should be using the same UNITY engine as well. At least that's what the devs also claim on their official website's FAQ page.

Looks way interesting than any American game shown recently. Always wanted a proper war of the worlds game that inherits the concepts from the brilliant movie. Looking forward to this

Russians have always been huge in modding and general gaming Nerdery, its great to see them move on from modding 15 year old games and start making A-AAA games with that russian soul.
or remastering old games like with tomb raider and soul reaver.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
Looks interesting and without the usual DEI crap.
That doesn't look bad at all…quite interesting actually!
FINALLY a game that looks "normal", despite the aliens. lol
I can play a normal person, oh my God… THANK YOU.
You look Pregnant in my collection.
Cool concept, but there's nothing there to be in awe, John.
You're getting impressed over nothing.
Also, feels like a slideshow.
