Back in 1997, GT Interactive released a special version of Duke Nukem 3D in the original Playstation, called Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown. While this version suffered from major performance issues, it also came with some new levels and re-designed sprites. And modder ‘Fox_666’ has just released a total conversion mod for Duke Nukem 3D that brings all the content of the Total Meltdown PSX version to it.
As said, Duke Nukem: Meltdown came out in 1997 for the first Playstation console and features all three episodes of the original game, plus one additional episode: Plug ‘N’ Pray, which includes six extra levels and a secret level. In addition, this version features a complete re-rendering of all the weapons and enemies, and a combination of bespoke and rearranged music.
According to the modder, most of the assets were ripped by Nukey. Hendricks266, Daedolon, Oasiz and TerminX also helped creating this total conversion mod.

Nice! Thou not sure why you linked to a footage of PSX version being played on emulator? That is exactly why this mod exists! So people would not need to do that 😀 .
What I find interesting about the video linked is that “4x OC” and that game runs smoothly because of it. That blows my mind! Had no idea that can be done. I just played damn King’s Field 2 with that bizzare 10-30 framerate since that is just how it runs on PSX. If I knew emulators now can overclock HW of emulated platform to improve performance of games then I would just use that and play it in 30fps. Dang it! Well at least now I know.
But man I could swear I looked it up and found no fix for the framerate! Yet this seems to be thing for a while now.
A lot of emulators let you mess with the CPU speed. You could run that clock as high as possible and then just limit the frame with vsync/half refresh. But def cool to be able to do that.
You should try out Ridge Racer Hi-Spec that already runs at 60fps on PSX hardware.
Now we need a mod for the Duke Nuken Advance levels!
