The Nightscarred Forgotten Gods feature

The Nightscarred: Forgotten Gods is a new first-person action game in Unreal Engine 5, with gameplay elements similar to those of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

Shadowfall Studios has informed us about The Nightscarred: Forgotten Gods; a new first-person action game that will be using Unreal Engine 5 and has gameplay elements from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. A few days ago, the team shared a new gameplay trailer for it. So, have a go at it.

In The Nightscarred: Forgotten Gods, players will craft their own spells, creatively combine them with Nightscarred’s hybrid combat system, and assassinate their foes to restore balance in a physics-driven world.

As you will see, the game’s combat mechanics are similar to what most of us enjoyed in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. For example, you can kick your enemies on spikes. You can also use environmental traps to kill your enemies. Or you can use various objects to hit and distract your opponents.

Going into more details, the game’s fast-paced combat system will allow you to use magical abilities and melee weapons independently, giving you full control over each during gameplay. Additionally, the movement capabilities are not restrictive, allowing you to perform all offensive abilities while dodging, jumping, crouch sliding or running.

As said, you will also be able to craft your own spells. You will be able to do so by using the runes you gather during gameplay. Each unique combination of runes will result in a different spell. Thus, you can modify the imbuement type, casting method, and additional stats of your spell.

This basically feels like a spiritual successor to Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. So, kudos to the team for creating a game that a lot of PC gamers have been asking for all these years.

There is currently no ETA on when this game will come out. However, as I was a big fan of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, I’m really looking forward to it.

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

      1. Gotta love some good walking sim (not the case with "Still Wakes the Deep, tho).
But lad, keep in mind that I'll always play what I like, not what YOU like.
        Got it?

          1. Yes, I don’t have the same divine taste as yours, who always play the best games.
I’m even beginning to think that you’re so intellectually superior, that you are making your own games.
            Geez, you’re the special one!

  1. Random nobodies made another first person game in Unreal Engine.

In the trash with the thousands of other Unreal Engine games it goes.

    1. Well this game seems to be based on Turkic mythology, so she kind of does look like she's of the Turkic people. Would've been nice if she was easy on the eyes though…

      1. some refer to the "redshields" or "bauers" or builders in english as turko-mongols, that wing of the cryptos from ukraine region darker like that etc Looks don't matter when you're talking about crypto-"jewry" aka tamudicks-kabbalists.

  2. Oh btw you may have heard of a little known game called Elden Ring which came out with likely it's only major DLC, do they not pay for promotion/articles here john?

    1. 60% review score on Steam. Apparently it's too difficult to get through for most players.

I'm on the side of the review bombers. Paying $40 and developers gatekeeping players, is worthy of scorn. Difficulty settings have become a standard feature in games.

        1. That's kinda what I wanted a review of besides story and possibly new weapons movesets and areas. Most of the time better to wait for a couple patches from most devs esp FS before eye patching it.

      1. I might play this game in the future with some mod that give moveset advantages. My first playthrough i was a master shinobi with the aspects of shinobi mod. I'll let the nolifers solo this game with a club and naked, but i can't afford that "privilege".

      2. Yeah I really don't play games always as the makers think we should play them, lots of ways to do that phukem. I'd just like to see some critical info here about bugs and such. I'm sure it's just more of the same which isn't bad if you liked FS typical games. And I get the gratis version, phukem2.

    3. You should have known that we do not cover DLCs (as I consider them a cancer to gaming. So, as I'm so against them, I've never covered them in the past 10+ years).

          1. That emoji represents my admiration of his strength and determination. I just love it when he doesn’t take sh*t from rytards like you.

          2. That doesn’t make it any less stupid you know? Off course you don’t. He should stop covering DLC’s btw, only games with physical media (no download code bs or patches) are allowed, let’s see his r-tard strenght and determination then.

          3. fnd the begging peasant: please sire, cover this DLC
            John the gigachad : No b*tch 🗿🗿

          4. Lie? You are absolutely nothing to him, why would he even consider lying to some dirty Arab monkey like you?
He probably forgot, it’s not the same as lying you low IQ inbred goat fcking child fcker worshipper.

        1. True, but I also didn’t cover CP2077: Phantom Liberty or the DLCs for The Witcher 3. In the future, I might make some exceptions for such big DLCs.

          1. You already make an exception for the base game, which you have to download it in order to play it.

          2. "True, but I also didn't cover CP2077: Phantom Liberty or the DLCs for The Witcher 3."

That doesn't make it any less stupid, lmao. Go ahead dude, make some Elden Ring stories and get some adsense revenue your way no one is gonna hate you or call you hypocrite, but it may be too late now.

          3. "nyah", what's this, have you become a cat "girl"? In any case, feel free to lose free money on the table.

      1. I could see cosmetic garbage dlcs but come on john elden ring is huge and likely only gets the one big dlc, be nice to get the skinny here about it since it seems to have some bugs etc from the forums etc

PL should have been covered imo I thought it was but guess not. I agree though DLCs are predatory in some ways, the Starfield handling of that w the pricing structure was pure scummery. I'd like to see big story dlcs covered more then A.nother UE5, rtx remix etc story.

      2. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? Why not make a rule to not cover low effort cashgrabs or predatory games instead of singling out what is basically an old school expansion pack? And by definition, 99% of games nowadays are DLC, because there is no physical media and you have to literally download the content, so to speak, so how about you quit gaming alltogether?

        1. low effort cashgrabs or predatory games instead of singling out what is basically an old school expansion pack

How is Elden Ring is not predatory? How is it even remotely "old school"?

Elden Ring and FromSoftware games are one of the most predatory games out there, its fanbase are a bunch of crazy addicts.

The warm flash of light when players get loot, when you level up, when you kill a boss. You think that is there by accident? It's the exact same thing gacha games, MMO, Loot boxes, and Casino slot machines use.

The whole system of having to repeat the same boss over and over until players kill them and get a dopamine hit is the definition of addiction. Letting mice ring a bell and randomly give them a reward and get a dopamine hit, is what Elden Ring is based on.

Elden ring is the most predatory game out there and its playerbase are toxic addicts.

          1. "The warm flash of light when players get loot, when you level up, when you kill a boss. You think that is there by accident? It's the exact same thing gacha games, MMO, Loot boxes, and Casino slot machines use."

            I hope you are trolling.

          2. Any dopamine rush a game gives is literally a scam, says @disqus_wpcOeBHNf4:disqus

          3. No, I'm not kidding. Why do you think WoW uses a warm flash of light and a loud nois each time you level? In fact every MMO, loot box does this. You never thought about this? You guys are way too gullible.

Pathological gambling and the loss of willpower: a neurocognitive perspective.

Université Libre de Bruxelles, Brussels, Belgium, University of Southern California, Los Angeles,

For instance, slot machine wins are routinely accompanied by bright flashing lights and loud noises. Wagenaar suggested that this sensory stimulation heightens the recall of past wins rather than past losses. By distorting the memory of past outcomes, this may bias the decision to continue playing.

          4. We are talking about Elden Ring here, i don't remember these flashing lights and loud noise in ER btw.

          5. He means the PREY SLAUGHTERED / DEMON SLAIN message accompanied by the lighting effect I guess.

The problem is he read too much into it and doesn't realize it makes sense in the context of Souls games.

I actually think it is a leftover from the world tendency mechanic introduced in Demon's Souls as well.

          6. Literally it is there since Demon's Souls and it symbolizes you lighting a fading world fire back to life.

It was explained by the devs back in 2009 or so.

          7. That's outside of the scope of this discussion. I'm talking about financial issues, there are no "whales" in Elden Ring, you only pay it once. And also other cash grab low effort that fools people into thinking it's a decent game, you can't argue they don't put effort into making a game like Elden Ring and the expansion.

          8. I fail to understand how From need predatory practices to lure players in since vanilla ER is 100+ hours and expansion is around 20-30 from what I gather.

I mean we are here to criticize, but this?

          9. Basically the complaint is that the game is good and i got addicted. That's it.

          10. I can agree with casino gambling training in games. Mario is classic gold=life training. The whole upgrades and "stores"(not mtx) is also just more shysterism in games, training for their scam society. The idea that games are NOT behavioral training is pure nonsense, only interested parties claim that, similar to tv/entertainment isn't just "programming" to simple minds.

      3. Mans got principles. I see your still raging over the horse armor… As em I. No one listened, now look at gaming, It sucks being right.

  3. I don't get the hate. It looks like it could be potentially good.🤔

  4. Environments and level design make it look like trash, way to open and not at all purpose built around this style of gameplay.
