The Division’s Community Manager: “We are aware of the cheating issues”

Earlier yesterday, we informed you about the cheating issues that surrounded the closed beta phase of The Division on the PC. And today, The Division’s Community Manager let everyone know that the development team is aware of those issues, and that it is fully committed to providing solutions against this.

As The Division’s Community Manager wrote on the game’s forum:

“We are aware of the cheating issues in the Closed Beta on PC. The team is fully committed to providing solutions against this and a system will be in place to ensure a fair experience for players when the game is released on March 8.”

And that is that everyone!

    1. Yep. And that should already be expected by anyone. No one would launch a big AAA online game with no anti-cheat system.
People are analyzing to much by a beta.

      1. For every person who will play the game on day one I hope they test the anti cheat before launch on a mass scale to the degree one would expect in a beta.

      2. No-one? GTAV Online & MGSV Online both launched without anti-cheats in the last 12 months. GTAV added one later which barely works; rarely do I get a session without someone spawning items everywhere to kill/annoy people. I’m seeing basic level cheats in both games that I previously hadn’t seen in more than a decade.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Rockstar only ever flagged for changes to currency since they directly harm micro-transaction sales.

    2. “a system will be in place to ensure a fair experience for players when the game is released on March 8”

I’m sure that means anti-cheat and server checks.

      1. I’m sure you’re right, It just seems like an odd way to phrase what should be “yes, there will be an anti cheat system on launch”.

    3. No. If anything the vagueness is confirmation there WON’T be an anti-cheat. It’s community manager 101 to mislead people by lying by omission; NEVER assume they meant to imply something.

Watch their solution merely be a way to report people.

    1. Notice how so many recent games have the same feel to them? It is the
second half of siege. They’re charging double the price for two games.

Glad to see more people waking up to what is going on. All the
AAA titles this year have been sh*t. I am not buying anymore unless
      they’re under $10.

I suspect the publishers are either hiring studios to finish games or selling them a package of a semi complete game. Something is definitely going on. If you look back just a year or two ago, they were all ready to go belly up.

      1. Game sounded so badass, and the first video showing gameplay was pretty cool, then they started releasing tidbits that made me realize it wasn’t going to be what I originally expected. So far, aside from the intitial “wow” effect newer games have, theres nothing of substance to keep people gaming other than “Wait, better gear can be found”.

      2. In it defense, the game only gave you 1 mission to play in the demo, lets face it people its not a beta. I feel if its long enough the game can be fun. Visually its incredible but ill wait and see the launch day reviews.
