The Culling 2 is yet another battle royale game, releases on July 10th

Xaviant Games has announced the sequel to The Culling which is yet another battle royale game, The Culling 2. Xaviant released an announcement trailer today, revealing that the game will be released on July 10th.

Xaviant did not reveal any additional details. Here is the game’s description according to its announcement trailer.

“The Culling returns to take Battle Royale to the next level. Real-world weapon ballistics. A strategically brutal melee combat system. Perks to customize your play style. Fifty contestants will drop in and compete for glory, but only one will be crowned the winner.”

Now I don’t know if it just me but I’m getting really tired of all these battle royale games, especially since a) they seem to have similar gameplay mechanics and b) some of them – like The Culling 2 – look almost like a mobile game. I mean seriously, if you’re going to copy PUBG or the other BR games, at least offer some truly spectacular visuals to ‘wow’ us. Otherwise what’s the point of releasing yet another battle-royale game?

Anyway, here is the game’s announcement trailer!

  1. No, it’s not just you John. I am also tired of these BR clones but we’ve probably still got a long way to go before this craze will wind down. There’s just too much money in it. What was the latest, Fortnite generating over 300 million dollars in revenue in one month?

    1. Probably most BR games coming out won’t make a lot of money but the temptation is huge with Publishers to score the next PUBG or Fortnite so they will keep rolling them out and hoping for a hit.

  2. The original one was pretty darn good when it came out. It was more focused on melee combat and end game was possibly a gun. However they didn’t listen to their fan base and ruined the game. Now maybe 5 people a day play it. They will destroy this like they did the original, a shame.

    1. Yeah, I really liked the concept of guns being the end-game weapons. The Culling in its original form is the only battle royale game I’d be willing to play.
