Mafia Redux 1.1 mod for the first classic Mafia game adds new high resolution textures & 2D/3D assets [UPDATE: Released]

Modder ‘GhostCZMods’ has released a brand new Texture Pack for the first classic Mafia game. According to its description, Mafia Redux 1.1 adds new roads, new sidewalks, new barrels and a new loading bar. Moreover, it adds a new window design, a new design of cigarettes and new skins for Tom, Paulie, Sam.

Furthermore, this Texture Pack also adds new sky textures, new trees, a new police uniform and a new sound system (guns, cars in the crash, and more details).

I don’t have Mafia installed so I don’t know whether there is a big difference between the vanilla and the new modded textures. The modder has shared some screenshots that we’ve included below. These screenshots showcase some of Mafia 1.1 Redux’s new features. However, it appears that they are not ‘complete.’ For example, the “trees” screenshot shows the vanilla road textures (instead of the modded ones).

But anyway, since Mafia is a game that a lot of gamers frequently revisit, we strongly suggest downloading this mod. You can download it from here.

Have fun!

UPDATE:

GhostCZMods has taken down the mod and stated that it will now release on January 4th!

UPDATE2:

The mod has just been released. You can download it from here!

    1. Definitely a great game as I remember it but I think I read something about 2K having to remove the original music from the game a while back because of licensing issues. I was thinking about a replay but can’t find my disk from way back then and I would buy it again but not if the atmosphere has been downgraded.

      1. I just downloaded from “other” sources last week!
Didn’t install it to check….but5 it would really suck if they removed some of the music!
