NACON has just revealed some new details about its upcoming Terminator game, Terminator: Survivors. So, let’s take a closer look and see what the team has to offer. Can these new details re-ignire our interest? Or is this yet another GaaS title?
According to the company, the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5 (though there is no word on whether it will take full advantage of Nanite and Lumen). We also don’t know whether it will be using DLSS, XeSS and FSR at launch.
Terminator: Survivors will be fully playable in a single-player offline mode, through an original story. Moreover, players will be able to team up with three friends in order to play in co-op. Right now, the game will be PvE, and there are no plans to add PvP.
NACON says the game will have a cool new story along with extra stories and missions. These stories will explain more about the world and the people in it. And on the way, you’ll meet famous characters from the movies and some new ones too.
For those wondering, you will start your journey with an existing base, tied to the game’s story. Then, you will have the opportunity to expand your base through constructing and enhancing facilities. So, from the sound of it, the game won’t be focusing on its base-building mechanics. Or at least that’s what NACON hints at.
The game is set in 2009, right after the world goes nuts on Judgment Day. The devs say there’s only gonna be one tough T-800 in the game. They claim they did this to stick to the lore and make the game feel scarier and more like the movies. So, having just one T-800 stays true to the franchise’s lore and makes the game feel like you’re really in the Terminator world.
Finally, the game will have driveable vehicles. The devs say that the driving mechanics will make exploring fun and help you work together with friends. So, I’m curious to see what vehicles we’ll be able to drive.
NACON will release Terminator: Survivors in Steam Early Access on October 24th, 2024. So while the game sounds interesting, I’m a bit put off by the fact that it will have an Early Access phase.
Oh, and before closing, here are some new screenshots for it.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

I’m sure people will find a reason to b*tch about it on this site… oh yeah, it’s using Unreal 5. In before all the stupid Stutterfest comments and other vitriol.
I don’t see the issue either, there’s nothing wrong with Unreal Stutter 5.
i am so tired of games as a service and crafting and base building.
Could you give me examples? because I like that type of games.
why? My issue is that thy feel like the devs built nothing, so you have to built everything yourself, like fallout 76 not having npcs when it came out and the crafting and resource gathering is a gimmick o slow down the game and make it longer, i always get bored after a while, super repettive.
Game will be playable offline and have a single player. It’s not a service
yes, i am saying i am tried of these kind of games.
maybe try v-rising that games great.
doesnt it have that?
it does but the crafting system feels light compared to say valheim.
compared to subnautica?
never played subnautica wouldn’t know about it’s crafting system.
Only PvE, offline and lore friendly story? I’ll have to take a look at this when it comes out… of early access in 2026?
I’m getting Generation Zero vibes from this, which isn’t good.
That game had tons of potential that got squandered over the publisher focusing on GaSS garbage content instead of actually adding depth to it’s mechanics like the barebones armor system.
That game had so much potential…
That it did, the art design is there, the combat is great and the game is just a goddamned chore with barely any progression besides a slightly better weapon once in a blue moon.
Looks similar to State of Decay, but with robots instead of zombies.
good news for the game. there is hope yet.

Actually very fitting for the franchise, but I’m tired of grinding instead of having fun.
All I see is chromatic aberation. Hopefully you can turn that off.
Sounds good so far, screenshots look decent. Crossing fingers for a polished patched game by 2027.
So “State with Decay” with Terminators instead of zombies. Doesn’t look that bad from latest screenshot
Ok that’s better news than what I thought it was before. I actually would love a solid co-op Terminator experience!
I hope this as good as it sounds on paper
i wonder how they will make the universe, we already know about some early model of terminator like the “T-70” wich i hope we will see
but in the lore, there arn’t much information about early skynet era terminator,
so i wonder how they will make them, are they free to make themself some stuff canon, will they ask about james cameron ?
