Nacon is currently offering for free Cyanide’s stealth game, Styx: Shards of Darkness, on GOG. Until November 24th, PC gamers can visit its GOG store page and acquire their free copy.
In Styx: Shards of Darkness, you get to play as a nimble goblin thief named Styx. Your mission is to quietly take out targets, sneak around, and use your clever wit in a huge, mysterious fantasy world full of dangerous secrets and enemies.
In this newest adventure, Styx ends up making a deal with a mysterious human officer named Helledryn. Helledryn offers Styx a job with much higher stakes than anything he’s done before. Styx’s task is to steal an ambassador’s scepter, which has caught the attention of some really nefarious parties. As a reward for pulling off this risky mission, he’s promised a ton of magical Amber. This substance is the source of Styx’s power and something he’s totally hooked on.
Styx: Shards of Darkness is powered by Unreal Engine 4. When it came out, the game could not take full advantage of multiple CPU cores/threads. Does this ring any bell? Yeah, these CPU issues have existed for a long time.
Anyway, if you are fans of stealth games, you should at least give this a go. So go ahead and acquire your free copy from GOG.
Have fun!

Always wanted to play this franchise. Only played Of Orcs and Men for a bit.
Note that this is a sequel to the first game built on UE3, namely “Styx: Master of Shadows”.
It’s a decent stealth game that can be played in quick sessions, which makes it a perfect fit for playing on the Steam Deck, where it runs flawlessly with maxed out settings.
yeah this game is an awesome stealth game that if you wanted to get into the series to start with the first one. it’s on my list of favorite games of all time. not sure of what “of orcs and men” had to do with it tho.
It’s where Styx first appeared.
Already had both Styx games on steam, but free, DRM free version always welcome.

Meanwhile, Steam with their nasty DRM/forced launcher is selling this for $10. Greedy Valve.
Always gotta laugh at how much really old games go for on steam and that people are stupid enough to pay those prices.
Sharts of Darkness. Americans must love this game kek
I’ve always heard everyone trying to use this as a fix for the abstinence of Thief, but never heard anyone say it’s good.
The first was good, but the jank is there. It’s Cyanide after all.
it’s great and the level design is top notch. many little secret passages to sneak through the 3d level to take out enemies silently and dispose of bodies if need be. combat is not recommended and is actually punishing even though you can win once you figure it out but only if it’s one on one.
It’s not free anymore and still is 24th november
