  1. “There´s a lot of piracy in PC”, “PC titles don´t give money”, “PC gamers are entilted brats”.

          1. If he keeps hie gtx 680 and dont buy a gtx 970-gtx 980 ti card then of course he will complain that the game will run like crap becaue his card is too old for dx 12 games.

  2. All right, I need to say this (and I’ll try to do it in a moderate and polite manner):

How are “we” supposed to get better support for the so called AAA industry on PC if things like Early Access games have this kind of support? How many of these money making machines ever got finished despite all of the money people throw at them?

I mean, I totally get the appeal of these games and their ambitions and I am all for trying to do something big at least, but FFS these games remain 4ever unfinished, buggy, unoptimised, repetitive and it’s making millions! HOW? What am I missing here?

It feels to me that this is a huge alienation of a somewhat ignorant public that may or may not damage the ones that are more aware (I’ll admit a hyperbole on this last point, but still).

    1. AAA are unfinished and buggy games too, there’s no difference with an Early Access game.

And I think AAA games are developed for the casual public, so, Why should I support that kind of games?

        1. I’m just asking. I want you to point where I’ve said in my comment that “it’s alright to go Ubisoft”.

      1. You shouldn’t if that’s what you want. I’m just asking why are “we” supporting things that never get finished.
        Again, just asking.

    2. DLC, buggy messes and microtransactions.

As much as I loathe Early Acess, I would much rather buy and play them than most AAA titles as the price, fun, and depth and even content surpass them.

Ive only bought two of them, Starbound and Starforge, I promised never again.

    3. I will try to explain in a polite way. Why do we have to show support for AAA titles that are buggy, unoptimised, unfinished, annualized, need day one patches and still make millions. Example: Batman Arkham Knight, Assasin’s Creed unity, Watchdog, Witcher 3. Before you defend Witcher 3, it had a bad day one release and had its share number of glitches and problems and ran awful on GPU’s with kepler and below architecture at least on Nvidia. It needed 7 patches to be where it is now. There’s a lot of early access games that are good and have potential. You just need to keep an eye out and follow games that peak your interest. And if you want to show support for the game, you can buy it for half the price or less than the AAA titles. For your answer to repetition, can you name a single AAA title that is a completely new IP that came out recently or has not been annualized or serialized .

      1. I agree with most of your points, and if you go back to my comment, I said that I see the appeal and ambition of these games, I just don’t see how they can survive in the market and how they can potentially change it in a bad way.
I can never defend a AAA especially on this digital age where it created this massive “patch culture”, and that’s why I think this EA system needs to sort a lot of things out.

    4. Dont play smart please, its not your money, if I bought Despair being the worst game ever released on Steam because cards, ITS MY PROBLEM, if I bought a EA game and the devs flops before finishing the game, again ITS MY PROBLEM. I cant see how people buying EA games can “harm” you. Dont buy EA games, stay away from them, its clear you can not understand what is the mean of EA, still a lot of “finished” AAA games are awaiting for you.
Im sorry if I am a bit harsh, but this “why people buy EA games?” is getting old.

      1. No need to be sorry, and I’m not playing smart, I’m just asking.
And I admitted the hyperbole, no one is “harming” me directly, but I think it’s potentially changing the market towards something that I’m not seeing as healthy practice on a already unhealthy industry.

    5. DayZ from the developer: i wanna make a game which is not a game, lol. 3million! i’m ok with early access games but i don’t get survival ones, it’s like every few months one of them is popular and the next month another, it’s been like that in past 2 years, none of them got finished, by the looks of it none of them will ever going to, most of the looks like they are abandoned.

happy to see Dishonored in the list <3

      1. its the future h1z1,day z and ark thats how they are gona make money who is actually going to buy day z in 4 years.its been in early access that long..lol oh and moba cash shops is the future as well.

    6. I don’t mind all Early Access games but I don’t like most of them, especially survival games (as Amir said). I was one of the guys who were hyped for DayZ and I used to watch Let’s players playing it (but never bought the game myself). As time went by, I started to realize that it was just a cash grab like every other no name survival game that are made for casual let’s players who do nothing but shout at each other while playing co-op (as some sort of annoying attempt to hype up these games)…

The games themselves are terrible. Never watched Let’s play ever again and never paid attention to more of these games. The Forest looked like a good survival game with story elements, health management, great melee, AI, crafting etc but other games in the genre killed that for me and it’ll take decades before it’s even finished, if ever, so meh…

I have absolutely zero interest in that game now at this point and once it was my 3rd most anticipated game (kill me). I rather take smaller user base on PC that demands high
quality products like FEAR, Witcher, Killing Floor, Squadron 42 etc than “bazillions of PC gamers” who support stuff like this. PC Gaming is bigger than ever but standards are lower than ever. When PC became mainstream, it brought a lot of casual gamers on board as well, who joined PC gaming in the era of Console ports, survival games and Mobas. Those people support stuff like this and big companies like Valve target these people now.

      1. Your last paragraph: Godly! The point I was trying to make.
“PC Gaming is bigger than ever but standards are lower than ever.”

    7. I think “how” is not the problem here. The problem is what happens after that.

Some of the games in Early Access gain a LOT of money, which is, sometimes, enough to develop a full AAA game from a scratch. Instead, every time a game becomes successful I see how all these money flow in a different direction.

The whole system is just f*cked up. It’s based on trust, and it’s just doesn’t work.

  3. im always wondering who the hell keeps buying L4D2 lol. i mean that game has been on sale tons of times over the years. i guess its just new pc gamers? really high numbers for such an old game though

    1. New gamers for L4D2. Now remember that game has maybe the most active modding community so far.
For CS GO, is people who got banned and then rebuy the game with another account.

    2. they gave it for free too. i wonder who buys Skyrim whenever it goes on sale lol. some people are waiting to buy it when it is 99% on sale.

  4. How the heck was gta v not on the list? It was on the top 5 for the whole event despite the ridiculous sale system they put on it

  5. Glad to see Castle Crashes doing fine, its a good game. You know thats why PC can be more rewarding than consoles, you see that list and realize that many games are kinda old (5-6 years), said kinda because theres a lot of older games, BUT thats why Steam is a success, no matter if the game is old, devs keeps getting cash by years. Thats I am not in favor of reselling games on steam, refund was necessary but reselling means no more money for devs as it happens on consoles. All of this is just my humble opinion.

  6. Damn Total War games are selling a lot due to announcement of Warhammer TW. Good thing… Medieval 2, Shogun 2 and Attila are great games. Rome 2 is also pretty good. As for Survival games,,, not sure, even though Ark looks better.

  7. this is the wave of the future. where moba CASH SHOPS and early access is the way pc devs make money.i hate mobas because they are toxic and avoid buggy early access games.mmorpg’s are they only reason i have a pc anything else is on console for me

  8. seams like the wave of future early access and they dont even need to finish the game these days to make millions.and mobas hats the future of pc gaming incomplete games and online Cash Shop games to take your money.
