Whatnot Games has just announced a new retro combat racer that is heavily inspired by F-Zero and Star Fox. Titled Star Racer, this futuristic combat racing game is a tribute to your favorite 16-bit SNES games.
In Star Racer, players will engage in intense battles across the intergalactic racetrack. Players will use cunning strategies as they drift, boost, fire, and soar their place to the front of the pack. The game will also offer a lineup of distinct, rad vehicles. Each car will come with its own set of strengths and weaknesses.
It’s also worth noting that Star Racer will have a Track Editor. Players will be able to craft their own challenging circuits, share them with friends, and conquer the most daring designs. Not only that but the game will have local multiplayer with up to 4 players.
Whatnot Games plans to release Star Racer in 2024. However, there is no specific date on when this will happen.
Lastly, you can find below its debut gameplay trailer. This trailer will give you an idea of what you can expect from it. So, be sure to watch it.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Ive been waiting for a Blur remake, and I guess this is close as it’s gonna get LOL
beautifull ! i love 8bit 16bit games
that’s more 32bit with 16bit vibes, there’s no real 16bit system that could have done that
As close-minded as I’m going to sound, I’d rather play the actual F-Zero games. lol
I mean, it seems to be nice and all, but if it’s literally the same gameplay, I don’t see the point.
Well it can be great for those who wishes to experience more games like F-Zero when Nintendo can’t be bothered to make a new one. F-Zero 99 is an online-only live service game and given Nintendo’s track record, the game probably won’t be around forever. Plus, this one has combat and a level editor which are features F-Zero games don’t have.
It may look too similar but I don’t think it’s something the community minds when they’re eager for something new from the franchise and they’re not getting what they want. There’s a lot of games or franchises I’d like to see clones of or at least things that are heavily inspired by it at this point since a lot of these major companies aren’t going all out like they used to.
