Tomb Raider feature 2

Square Enix will reveal the new Tomb Raider game in 2018

Square Enix has just officially confirmed that it’s working on a new Tomb Raider game. And while The Video Games Awards begin later today, it appears that this new Tomb Raider won’t be one of its reveals. According to Square Enix, the first reveal will happen soon, later in 2018.

What’s also cool here is that Square Enix will follow Bethesda’s example with Fallout 4. In other words, gamers will be able to get their hands soon after its official reveal.

Square Enix claimed that its journey will begin with a major event in 2018. Our guess is that during this event, the publisher will officially unveil the game. As such, don’t expect any Tomb Raider announcements today or during the Playstation Experience 2017 event.

According to rumours and leaks, this new Tomb Raider game may be called Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Please make a proper Tomb Raider game, not some Uncharted clone third person shooter with stealth elements.

    1. I have preferred the last two games to any of the previous titles in the series. I don’t want them to go backwards.

          1. Wolfenstein 2 was good but yeah the combat feels like a step back. The maps aren’t as large anymore, they went for smaller but more cluttered and dense looking maps which really isn’t nice to look at. The combat itself feels good but there’s so many mechanics that could have been reworked for example there’s no feedback mechanics to know you are getting shot. Many times I’d die because of the random guy somewhere on the map shooting me because I didn’t see him. The powers were cool I guess. The story and characters were great though. A bit of a liberal agenda I won’t lie( which will defs piss off a lot of that hard “anti-sjw” crowd) but still great nonetheless.

      1. if your definition of backwards is better level design, less hand holding, less scripted qte bs, actual underwater exploration, more traps and more climbing as opposed to less and easy traversal of the enviroment due to less obstacles and more pick up indicators and finally weak pathetic human enemies most of the time with no guns instead of big monsters….there is something wrong with your definition of “forward”.

    2. Not gonna happen, shallow scriptathons that show pretty pictures on the screen while they play themselves are all the rage with casuals these days.

  2. Just make it an FPS set in WW2. That’s what the kids want. And make Lara trans or something. I don’t know.

  3. They don’t care about the fans. They will make another Uncharted ripoff with Tomb raider name on it. Fan made remake of TR2 is more excited than this.

    1. which sadly will never come out because the developer seems to spend to much time making everything look as pretty as possible and add new areas, messing with the artistic integrity of the game….as if TR2 did not have large enough levels.

  4. I really enjoyed the last game, it had a nice setting not used by games, but, wtf was that ending? Where is the boss battle? The explanation of what that thing that kept them immortal was?

Anyway TOMBS, TRAPS, MONSTERS, UNDERWATER SECTIONS, DO IT.
