Squad + Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online – Now Available On Steam Early Access

Two new first person tactical games hit Steam Early Access today. These are; Squad and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online. Squad is a 50 vs 50 multiplayer first-person shooter that aims to capture combat realism through communication and teamplay, whereas Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is a sci-fi tactical game inspired by the amazing manga/anime series.

In its early access stage, Squad focuses on infantry combat. On the other hand, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online features three initial game modes (Team Deathmatch, Terminal Conquest, and Demolition), five maps based on iconic locations from the anime, many weapons, initial augment and weapon attachment systems and basic matchmaking and progression systems.

Squad is currently priced at 36,99€ (and its final version will cost the same).

As for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, during its Steam Early Access phase players will be able to buy instant access by selecting one of four available packs. Do note that when it leaves its Steam Early Access phase, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex will be a free-to-play title.

Enjoy!

  1. That is one seriously steep buy in to be a beta tester in the early alpha phase of a game. I was going to be playing this day 0 but that entrance fee is going to hold me back for at least a few months. I wish the best to the SQUAD dev team and hope the game becomes a big hit. That EA price though… I have noticed that the games that come out with high EA prices early on in their development tend to be the games that don’t work out as well as it is a reflection of the mindset of the developers. I really hope this isn’t the case here. I have been following this game for so long and am so excited.

  2. early access is the way they make money these days. i still have not seen but 1 game come off of early access yet and even do well.lets see lets put out a DEMO on steam call it early access and make millions..worked for h1z1 and ark.remember early access is DEMOS you are paying for..lol

    1. I’ve seen plenty of games come out of early access with good launches. Maybe thats because i don’t invest in developers that promise to do everything and end up doing nothing.

      1. name some that have launched and done well. to me early access is just funding for the game. your paying to play a demo.

  3. £30 for a f***ing early access game?

And it was going so well, wrong time of year to pull out that price on people.

    1. Dammit, I wish squad devs didnt held your family hostage and asked for 30£ in ransom, this is awful. Kappa
My point is: Dont like it, dont buy it.

  4. This is a really confusing title. :v

When you put “+” instead of “and” it gives the impression of the two games being the same thing.

  5. GITS is really not as fast as you might think based on that trailer. I’ve seen unedited gameplay from some alpha or beta a while ago and it’s slow as balls. Also relies on hitscan completely. Forget about travel time, leading shots or anything like that, it’s all point and click directly on the enemy pixels. No recoil either.

  6. Divinity: Original Sin, Dirt Rally, Kerbal Space Program etc were all Early Access games, and all of them are well received games. Early Access is double edged sword but with Steam refund policy and it is getting a lot harder to sell shovelware, which is good thing for quality. Market takes time to adjust itself, and we saw same pattern with the trend of crowdfunding. It’s getting harder to convince people to fund a game, and most games that are supported these days by community are already in heavy production. No one supports empty promises now.

    1. look at star citizen.100m and they are still taking their sweet time making it.early access game are just DEMOS that you pay for.
