SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is a standalone expansion, coming to the PC in Q2 2019

THQ Nordic has just announced that SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest will release in Q2 2019 on the PC. Soul Harvest is a stand-alone expansion to the RTS/RPG mix SpellForce 3 and will come with a story mode featuring a dark and enthralling story with a playtime of around 20 hours.

Players will be able to build their distinct heroes by a deep skilltree, lead their army to victory in a new sector-based RTS system, use unique mechanics of their army units to win epic battles, use flying units for even more advance tactics and play 5 distinct factions: Humans, Orcs, Elves, Dwarves and Dark Elves.

Compared to SpellForce 3, Soul Harvest will feature a new campaign, new abilities and skilltress, sector-based gameplay system with a focus on global resource distribution and unique faction mechanic, unique mechanics and unique unit kits make the races feel very diverse and offer replay-value in the campaign, flying units that will allow more tactical elements, new factions: Dwarves and Dark Elves, as well as an overhauled UI.

  1. Here I thought that the game didn’t sell well and fell off the map (seeing how RTS style games are nowhere near as popular as Turn based ones these days, barring SCII).

    Happy none the less to see it getting an expansion.

This game is really unique, as both mixture of rts and rpg, the gameplay failed to highly focus on any of those aspects, but still I find it not that bad, the best thing about this game is the map, I’ve never seen such a good multilayered map is a strategy game, there’s tons of thing to explore and loot to find, BUT the worst thing about this game is its a buggy mess. and these bugs will stop your story progression, do developers even aware of these bugs, they are now moving to release an expansion now?
