SEGA announced that Sonic Lost World is now available on the PC. Originally released for Wii U in 2013, the PC port of Sonic Lost World will feature full controller support, Steam Achievements, Cloud Save, leaderboard functionality and interchangeable keyboard prompts depending on whether you play with controller or mouse.
The PC version also features the Nightmare DLC, and the whole package will cost just £19.99/$29.99/€27.99.
“Sonic Lost World sees Dr. Eggman harnessing the power of six menacing creatures known as the Deadly Six, but when the Deadly Six rise up against their master, Sonic has to unite with his arch nemesis in order to take on the new enemies head-to-head. Using his dynamic new moves and improved Colour Powers, Sonic must run, jump and race through a variety of ever changing terrains in order to defeat the Deadly Six.”

“Locked 60FPS gameplay” ? Since when a locked framerate is considered as an advantage?
In-game animations needs to locked to a certain frame-rate for a smooth experience. I would rather it be 60 fps than a cinematic 30 fps.
You shoudn’t confuse vsync with fps lock. What about those with 144Hz displays? 60fps lock is just a lazy programming.
Yes it is a little bit of lazy programming but 120Hz & 144Hz display users are a small minority compared to 60Hz display users. Also there is little point to supporting 120Hz & 144Hz if the animation engine will run at 60 fps.
At least it’s fair to say that for a console port, 60fps locked is addressing the majority of PC gamers. While 60fps itself is at least ticking the min box. Like you say, much better than 30fps. Especially for this title.
If you can’t please em all. Better to please the majority. When it’s a transaction, especially.
It has that annoying thing that the first Dark Souls and every game developed by the Mortal Kombat/Injustice dev has. If the frame rate drops below 60 at all, even to say 59fps then the whole thing goes to 30fps. Drops below that and it runs in slow-mo. Generations didn’t have this problem and it runs on the same engine. No excuse for this.
This might possibly be the worst port of the year so far.
Still not unlocked for those of us in the UK. And won’t be for another two hours.

When it hits ~ $10.00. Count me in. Off to check the asking price on E-shop as well. Any PC specific options to visuals? Anyway, good to see they have resolution options available. 720p would have been a deal breaker no matter the price.
From my short experience with it, I’d say it’s a solid port. The configurations are very barebones, it’s a straight up console port, and it clearly shows, but the game’s performance is pretty good, I had no problems running it at all.
That’s pretty much been my experience.
Solid performance, nippy load times and a basic (although not particularly lacking in the case of this game) set of options that feels perfunctory more than anything.
Though it’s been acting up on some people, running entirely in slow motion. But the issue seems to affect people across the entire hardware spectrum making it one of those quirks you may or may not be afflicted by.
