I played the demo and found it too macabre. I didn’t expect to see a colorful Nintendo setting going into a detective story, but the setting was just too depressing and serious for my taste.
When a detective Sherlock Holmes story needs an “M” rating, you’re already drifting away from an audience interested in intrigue and drifting into a more violent genre.
The Sherlock Holmes books are books kids can read. This game is something kids can’t play.
PC games typically take themselves way too serious.
In general Hercule Poirot is a much more lively and interesting character than Sherlock Holmes imo. But even Sherlock Holmes should have a lot of funny wit, and that was completely missing from this depressing game that takes itself too serious.
If you knew anything about Frogwares, you would know that they are obsessed with Lovecraft.
If you played the original version, you would know… that Frogwares are obsessed with Lovecraft.
I understand your point. Holmes have nothing to do with this Lovecraftian shlt, but then again, Poirot would be very serious and, too, have nothing to do with Lovecraftian shlt.
I’ll be happy if the game is good, cause I’ve never played a decent Lovecraft game. One thing looks clear, by the requirements it is very well polished.
Denuvo alert.Okay, they are releasing on GOG, scratch that.
