Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital have announced that first-person slasher Shadow Warrior 2 will launch October 13th on the PC. Shadow Warrior 2 fans can pre-order the game via Steam, GOG, and Humble to secure 10% off and get the exclusive ‘Razorback’ chainsaw katana. Owners of Flying Wild Hog’s previous games Shadow Warrior and Hard Reset Redux will receive an additional 10% off the pre-order price.
Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang.
“Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world he inadvertently corrupted.”
In Shadow Warrior 2, players will battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in this inventive sequel to the best-selling remake from 2013.
Players will be able to complete outrageous missions, collect powerful new armor, arcane relics of legend and choose from an array of masterfully designed weaponry – including a katana chainsaw.
Shadow Warrior 2 is bigger than its predecessor and has been designed as an open, vertically scalable world to explore. Each new unique environment is jaw-droppingly gorgeous and hosts a procedurally generated loot system so no two playthroughs will ever be the same.
Michal Szustak, Studio Director at Flying Wild Hog, said:
“The reception to each new bit of Shadow Warrior 2 that we share has been thrilling and our team is excited – and relieved – to finally share our work with the fans. We think our small studio has accomplished something special with Shadow Warrior 2 and hope that both fans of the classic FPS and those that enjoy more modern shooters will enjoy the game.”

I am very curious about this game. Never played the first one but the franchise now appeals to me. Worth to play with friends ?
Try 2013’s Shadow Warrior.
I should give it a try at least.
Pick it up when it’s cheap, the game can be fun, but it’s flawed af.
this game looks really fun with friends, 2013 shadow warrior was a really solid title in its own right and you can grab it for dirt cheap if you look around.
It is a linear shooter with multiple upgrade systems, money, skill points, upgrade crystals for powers, few weapons and different enemy types also secrets and humor. The big problem with the game is the weapons they are very ineffective, you got a weak magnum, some very weak sub machine guns which for some reason you have to hold right mouse button to dual wield and x to aim because aiming makes them more accurate, a awful shotgun with extremely high spread and very little damage, a very weak crossbow with explosive secondary fire that uses 3 arrows, a flamethrower so weak you could cook enemies and see only their bones are left yet they are still fighting you as if you did not even attack them and a very inaccurate and slow rocket lancer that does not do much against big enemies because their front is armored and their back is their weak point.
So long story short use the sword, the sword is good. It goes on sale for 3-6 bucks every big steam sale, you cant go wrong with that.
I’ll probably have fun with it, but I’m not a fan of the looter shooter route they’re going.
Samurai with:
-Shotgun
-Selfie stick
-Futuristic weapons
Btw, the classic one (that’s free on Steam) is finally on GOG (free aswell), so it’s something.
Cool to have it with a installer.
Anyway, hoping that the pacing on this one is better than the dragged out, f’ing glacial pacing in the first. 🙂
It is releasing on PC first and Consoles next year. It’s a true PC shooter through and through and for that they have my respect.
Surprised to see them releasing it on PC first with an added up 20% discount and a release for consoles early next year, rather than consoles first and maybe a botched expensive PC port late.
Quite refreshing to see a dev do that. I wish more did the same.
