Sekiro Combat Overhaul Mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim available now for download

A few days ago we informed you about a mod that was aiming to bring the combat of Sekiro to Skyrim. And today, we are happy to report that the Sekiro Combat Overhaul mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available for download.

This mod allows you to deflect attacks (Timed block) and regain your stamina while damaging enemies Stamina. You can also stagger them if their Stamina is low enough. However, and due mainly to balance issues, bleedout and execution are no longer available.

Players can deflect melee attacks, forces, and explosions, but not direct spell hit. However, players cannot deflect if they have less than 10 Stamina.

Some enemies can also deflect your attacks now. These enemies are: Humans, Draugrs/Skeletons, and Falmer. According to the modder, this ability scale with enemy level.

Last but not least, attacking a blocking opponent no longer play recoil animation (so you/enemies can finish their attack combo animation) except on shield.

Do note that every block now produce shimmering fire sparks. Also, Deflect produces a bright flash.

You can download the mod from here. This mod is only available for the Special Edition of Skyrim, and not for the original version.

Have fun!

    1. Maybe the author borrowed some animations without getting permission first, or something? That could be a permission issue.

  1. I guess we’ll have to wait for further mod optimizations until the author remove the hidden option… Also, what’s up with the Subscription model of NEXUS.com? Now we’re downloading at 50kb/s

        1. Well i agree, it’s annoying especially now that you need to click slow or fast download every time you download something. I paid that one time payment to get rid of annoyances and after that they introduced sh*t like that

  2. I’m not even sure Skyrim can do this well. Not to the same degree of precision. There’ve been some great combat overhauls with similar features, but they always feel a little sloppy because of the engine. They’re just improvements on the vanilla combat.

    1. Some of the game’s mechanics are hardcoded in the executable, which mods can’t really touch, so there is always a limit to what these types of overhauls can do sadly. They’d have to have access to the source, which is never going to happen with Bethesda.
