Ebb Software’s Game Director Ljubomir Peklar has shared some interesting new tech details about SCORN. According to the Peklar, the next-generation Xbox Series X trailer was running in 4K/60fps on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti.
Ebb Software has paired the NVIDIA RTX2080Ti with an AMD Ryzen processor. However, Peklar claims that an RTX2070 Super will also be able to run the game in 4K/60fps. As you may have guessed, though, owners of these GPUs will have to lower their settings from Ultra. According to Peklar, the game can run in 4K/60fps on an RTX2070 Super with a mixture of settings.
Furthermore, Peklar described DirectML and NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 as two interesting solutions for improving performance. And while he did not commit on it, he did say that Ebb Software will try its best to give players as many options as possible.
Lastly, and although SCORN looks beautiful, it will not be using real-time ray tracing. As Peklar said when asked about it.
“Developers have been using Ray Tracing to create static GI for years. Real-time Ray Tracing is certainly a breakthrough. It will be a much more useful tool for the developers in the future than a mind-blowingly obvious feature for players to notice. You looked at the tag to see if it was there. Through the years developers have developed many different techniques to fake aspects of what Ray Tracing can accomplish, from reflections to shadows and AO.
These ‘fakes’ have some limitations. Presentation is more static, effects at certain angles break the illusion, but for the most part, it looks pretty good. Sometimes when the new technology becomes available some developers start overusing it just to show it off, without thinking about the context in which it’s getting used. That is why you are starting to see games that have rooms with all reflective surfaces or inappropriate lighting conditions just to show off the technology. Technology should be in service of what you are trying to accomplish, not the other way around. So yes, Real-time Ray Tracing will undoubtedly be a complete solution in the future. However, and in the nearest future, developers will use it on case to case basis.”

And?
Some people assumed just because it runs on Series X it will require some next gen hardware because current one isn’t capable enough.
And I know that sounds dumb but unfortunately people like that exists.
Nobody assumed that, first time I heard such thing.
At least I’m not afraid at all. We at PC will run the games, only the games of new video games will not run if you have an old PC, even a modest, more current PC, will run the games, just lower the resolution and some effect …..
Is his name Peklar or Keplar?
His name is Ljubomir Peklar. ! 😛

Peklar. The server has been acting strange today. It had the 2070Ti and Keplar typos that were present only in the Draft version. I’ve cleared the cache so it should be fine now.
Ahhh yes every generation of console has to lie, running everything on op PC 😀
lol not the first time microsoft is caught lying using a pc instead of actual hardware, remember at e3 2013 a game crashed and it was revealed the games were actually running on pc’s with nvidia gpu’s using windows 7(superlol because windows 8 already existed) with xbox one controllers connected to it instead of actual xbox one consoles.
and when they got confronted they said those were “xbox one devkits”…yea right devkits with an nvidia gpu when the consoles use amd cpu/gpu XD
Famous story. Game was called Ori and the Blind Forest. Game developer Moon Studios later confirmed that they presented Steam version of game because Xbox version was not ready at time of E3. Famous story. But game was good
Famous story. Game developer was Moon Studios and game that crashed was called Ori and the Blind Forest
They didn’t lie here. All the footage was labelled “representative of Xbox Series X”.
Besides at this point, even console users know that all trailers and previews are done on PC.
The Witcher 3 Xbox’ footage which was From the PC Build
Or even some games demoed using PCs

My friend has been waiting years for an update on this game ever since he backed it up… glad there is some real progress I guess.
aehmm….2070Ti? ?
“” According to Keplar, the game can run in 4K/60fps on an RTX2070Ti with a mixture of settings “”.
I presume you meant the RTX 2070 SUPER model instead, since there is no Ti variant of this particular GPU ??
“Xbox Series trailer… Running on an NVIDIA RTX 2080ti”
I don’t know what’s the most awful here, showing a game running on PC in a console announcement or the fact they’re using NVIDIA hardware which is a direct competitor to the GPU they’re using on their console, or how they’re still showing games on a superior hardware to promote an inferior one… They really think their audience is dumb, which not far from the truth
“Series X as a platform has been available to us for only two months, so we are still figuring out everything that is at our disposal”
MS use RDNA2, sampled in January 2020 (first picture from factory), dev-kit consoles was ready in March 2020 and send to developers. But you need more than 2 months to build a game. Every single Xbox game was made on Nvidia GPU because that was only GPU with hardware RT cores like on new Xbox. This is not RDNA1 like in PS5 when you have easy access to AMD GPU since early 2019.
There was a lot of PS5 leaks about PS5 dev-kits in 2019… every developer use it. Many of them said that Xbox will be delayed because nobody saw real Xbox dev-kit in 2019. Because that hardware don’t exist until March 2020
Why are you spreading blatant misinformation?
Both console GPUs are built on RDNA2.
RDNA2 does not have an equivalent of RT cores.
That’s just Sp4ctro, the well known Microsoft human billboard.
Last week someone on reddit discovered that AMD lead engineer responsible for unix drivers for Radeon commited that ARIEL (PS5) is Navi 10 refresh. He work on Radeon unix drivers for 12 years

At least, Microsoft has found a way to offer you a Series X.

the thing is… developer doesn’t care. It’s a game. they aren’t trying to sell consoles. they are just running their game to show it off
I know, that’s why i’m criticizing MS and not the dev
It reminds me the Witcher 3 ‘Xbox’ footage which was From the PC Build or some games demoed using PCs instead of console devkit.

Yep, i remember that story, it was so funny lol, but the game was Ori not TW3 (which was running at a solid 24 fps on the same console at E3 2014 BTW) At least they’re not lying now, kudos for the transparency but i don’t know what to think about, does it mean that they don’t care anymore and they know that their audience is going to buy their products anyway ??
To the Microsoft marketing group: If you hype your console as being the most powerful next-gen hardware from a GPU standpoint (roughly 12 Tflops) please render the CGI trailer on the actual shipping product as opposed to using a 2080TI to show details that your pending console will be incapable of handling unless of course you do the smart thing and drop Vega and add a 3800TI as a last minute mod :}
“Series X as a platform has been available to us for only two months, so we are still figuring out everything that is at our disposal”
Xbox is based on RDNA2 and it was sent to developers two months ago Probably most Xbox games was made on Nvidia hardware because it was only hardware with hardware DXR. Sony have easier job because they use RDNA1 so they send own dev-kit to developers early 2019. This is whythere was a lot of PS5 dev-kits leaks in 2019 and no single one about Xbox
No. There is something weird about that reddit leak of yours. Sony has already confirmed to Digital Foundry that PS5 is custom RDNA2.
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/ps5-specs-features-ssd-ray-tracing-cpu-gpu-6300
I am going with what Sony has confirmed already to press, and to Digital Foundry specifically, and that is PS5 absolutely has a custom RDNA2 GPU. I don’t believe that reddit post one bit.
Sony (and Mark Cerny) would never confirm an custom RDNA2 GPU for PS5 to the press or Digital Foundry, when it was actually RDNA1 instead. PS5 most definitely has a custom RDNA2 GPU as reported by Digital Foundry and Sony themselves.
And here is Playstation 5 reveal. This is Digital Foundrys latest video from yesterday. They confirm Ray-tracing in PS5 games. They point it out in the video and they confirm game devs telling them about Ray-Tracing in said games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVnBikbYGic
Your information is flat out wrong. PS5 is absolutely RDNA2, as confirmed months and months ago already by Digital Foundry and other sources, including Sony themselves and game devs working on PS5 games. Don’t trust every leak you hear, that information of yours is flat out incorrect.
this is not hard to beleive. if anyone thinks the next gen consoles are going to be more powerful then what is already out on pc for a cheaper price… you are dreaming!!
true
OFCOURSE it was!
an RTX2070 Super will also be able to run the game in 4K/60fps
Super!
an RTX2070 Super will also be able to run the game in 4K/60fps
Super!
This game director gets it. Seems like they didn’t want to include raytracing just for the sake of it. Good on them, I think Control is the game that he means by overusing it on many reflective surfaces.
