Samurai Spirits is a new Samurai Showdown 3D fighting game that is coming out in 2019

SNK has just announced a new Samurai Showdown fighting game, called Samurai Spirits. Although we don’t have enough information about this new fighting game, we know that it will feature 3D graphics and will release in 2019.

SNK has also released the game’s debut trailer that you can find below. Samurai Spirits will be powered by the Unreal Engine and from the looks of it, the following characters will be present: Haohmaru, Jubei Yagyu, Nakoruru, Earthquake, Galford, Ukyo, Genjuro, Tamtam and Hanzo.

The game appears to be following Street Fighter V’s style. In other words, we’ll have a 3D game with 2D gameplay mechanics. Now I’ll have to be honest here; while its visuals look fine, I’d prefer hand-drawn 2D visuals. But then again, this will require a lot of work and I’m pretty sure that SNK will not ever produce anything as cool as the older King of Fighter games and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

But anyway, enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

    1. i would say a better art style, if you cant put cutting edge 3d graphics, add a little of cell shading and it will look a lot better

      1. The character models are better designed too, a lot of characters had these weird derp faces in KoFXIV, the ones in this trailer look much better, for example look at Nakoruru’s face at 0:44, much better than KoFXIV.
