We all know that Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to the PC in early 2016. However, we still don’t know its exact release date. And even though Amazon France has listed the game for a January 29th release, we are pretty sure that this is just a placeholder and nothing all.
The reason we are almost certain this is just a placeholder and nothing more is because there hasn’t been any hype for the PC version. No PR push. No screenshots. No details. Nothing. Therefore, a January release seems unlikely.
Perhaps we are wrong and Square Enix will surprise us, however we strongly suggest taking this release date with a grain of salt (which is why we’ve marked this story as a rumour).
Kudos to our reader Neil Ayeb for informing us.

Day one if that’s the actual release date.
Day 2 if it has good reviews.
Day 14 if it needs patching.
Day 500 if I want to buy the game in package with every DLC for a ridiculously low price.
Day 501 when its included in the BTA for humble bundle
day 800, because i dont want to install windows 10.
Are they any good?
Also day 2 if it’s in windows 7.
Honestly W10 is in much better shape now then when i upgraded when it came out. No more BSOD and a ton more stability, i say give it a shot but im also 98% certain itl be out for W7.
Still happy with windows 7 and i don’t see why i need to switch to another OS just because it’s new, maybe in 2017.
Mostly because its new, currently free, and runs faster then 7.
I really liked Windows 7, had no major problems with it. But I thought I should give Win10 a try. With a couple of games ( just a few – mostly Frostbite engine) in Win7 I had some stuttering problems, but I was really surprised to see that all of them were gone with Win10.
So, what I’m trying to say it’s that Win10 actually works pretty well(for me at least). 🙂
I’ve day one’d every Tomb Raider PC game since the original 1996 game. Ain’t going to stop now ?

January 29th would be great but as the article stated it is sadly unlikely. then again, i have a feeling they are not satisfied with X1’s sales (even with what Microsoft paid them) so anything is possible.
i heard phil spencer is really happy with those 280k xbone sales, why would they release it on PC when it’s selling like hotcake on xbone.
just release sunset overdrive.
nah, i’m too busy counting those Halo5’s microtransactions money 😀
4.5 hour campaign.
Because on pc thanks to Denuvo DRM that stops piracy(most recent example Just Cause 3) better graphics and 60 fps 4k resolution and now Steam Link and Steam Machine that allows people to play pc games on tv it will sell more than 1 million in one month!!!
it might sell well, after all TR sold near 4m copies on PC but the rest of what you said was just bulls**t
If it does come out so soon I feel it will Open 2016 up with a wonderful Slam to PC gaming with a straight up Console Port. I mean I know it’s the same dev team who brought Tomb Raider, Deus EX human rev to PC but I have my speculation on the port if it comes out so soon. Unless It just means the PC version has been already finished and just waiting to be released. I hope nixxes delivers.
I just have a feeling it’s not going to have that same feel 2013 had on PC next to the 360/PS3 versions.
I feel it will, Square always uses Nixxes when it comes to it’s PC versions and they generally hit the nail on the head
All Nixxes has ever done is make sure the PC versions of Eidos/Square Enix games are great. They have never failed in that task. So don’t worry about Rise of the Tomb Raider not being a great port. We already that the game is GOTY quality so no concerns there.
Probably the PC version is already done along with the PS4 version. They are just holding on to it until the exclusivity deal expires. What I find interesting is that it was/it will be exclusive only for ~3 months. There probably is a clause in the contract which states that they can release the game on the other platforms if the sales are under a predefined number(and the sales are pretty poor) . OR maybe I am totally wrong! 🙂
Well I guess we will find out when it hits on PC then compare to how it looks next to the Xbox1 version.
I don’t think any comparison is needed. 🙂 We all know it’s gonna look better (even slightly) on PC, resolution and AA alone will make some difference.
Its strange how the gamesmedia is praising this male massmurder propaganda game while those that actually had to pay for it says it sucks. You can check out INDEPENDENT youtube reviews for it, not many that has anything good to say about it, but I bet masochistic weirdos will like it as well as radicalized feminists who hates men. This is exactly the type of game (And the 2013 version) that would spit every man in the face if it could.
they keep promoting the sht out of this game and it sold like crap, just like creed syndicate, when sjws will get that what they jack off to, is not what gamers want?
The LA times published an article called “2015 is the year video games finally put down the guns and came to play” with a list of supposedly progressive games that break down the dudebro shooter hegemony or something, they listed Laura “I Hate Tombs” Croft’s Genocidal Adventures as one of their choices.
I imagine mass murder in a scripted “cinematic” corridor must be the height of progressive values in la-la land where most of these journos seem to originate from.
BREAKING NEWS! Tomb Raider BOSS FIRED!!!! http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-12-16-crystal-dynamics-boss-quits-after-decade-at-square-enix
I really hope it’s not a windows 10 exclusive. in amzone they said Plate-forme : Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows 10, hope it’s true.
