Red Dead Redemption 2 feature 2

Rumour: Red Dead Redemption 2 PC may be revealed on April 22nd as an Epic Games Store exclusive [UPDATE]

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game that a lot of PC gamers have been looking forward to. Rockstar has not announced anything yet, however, it’s almost certain that this third-person title will find its way on the PC. Still, and according to a rumour that surfaced recently, its PC release may dishearten those that boycott the Epic Games Store.

Now before continuing, note that this leak originates from 4Chan, therefore this could be fake so we strongly suggest taking it with a grain of salt. However, and the reason why we’re publishing this, the 4Chan Borderlands 3 leak was spot on so this could very well be true after all.

So, according to the leak, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced for the PC on April 22nd, and will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Not only that, but the game will target a July 9th release.

It’s worth pointing out that Take Two has already signed up a deal with Epic Games for releasing Borderlands 3 as a timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store. However, it is said that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be permanently exclusive on Epic Games Store and not timed-exclusive.

The leaker claimed that Epic Games and Take-Two have signed a deal that will give the publisher full profit on any DLC that’s released for the game’s PC version.

Again, we strongly suggest taking everything you’ve read with a grain of salt. Still, and from a business perspective, it makes a lot of sense.

We’ll be sure to keep you posted about this rumour (and we’ll update this story in case Take-Two debunks these PC rumours) so stay tuned for more!

UPDATE:

It appears this leak is fake. Yesterday, the same 4chan user claimed that Super Mario Odyssey would be coming on the PC and that it would be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. Nintendo has not released any of its first-party games on the PC so this “leak” does not make any sense at all. Not only that, but the Super Mario Odyssey story reads exactly like the Red Dead Redemption 2 story so it’s safe to assume that they are both fake.

In case the threads get deleted for some reason, here is the text for the supposedly Red Dead Redemption 2 PC and Super Mario Odyssey PC “leaks”.

“Howdy Partners, It’s me again. Famous 4chan leaker. So i got some great news, and not so great news. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced for PC on the 22nd of April at 9AM PST (California). It will be releasing July 9th, 2019. The bad news, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. It will not get a Steam release, this is not a time exclusive deal. The reason being is Take-Two made a deal with Epic, allowing Take-Two to take full profit on DLC released for the game. Valve currently takes a 30% profit from any in-game purchases.”

“It’s me again. Famous 4chan leaker. So i got some great news, and not so great news. Super Mario Odyssey will be announced for PC on the 9nd of May at 22AM PST (California). The bad news, it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store. It will not get a Steam release, this is not a time exclusive deal. The reason being is Nintendo made a deal with Epic, allowing Nintendo to take full profit on DLC released for the game.”

So yeah, while it makes sense – from a business perspective – to release RDR2 exclusively on the PC, you should not expect the game to be announced for the PC on April 22nd!

        1. So it will be the same for RDR2 if we believe those rumors, after all the the thing with that exclusivity deal is to avoid Steam and not proprietary Stores, GTA V came on Steam and RGSC

          1. ? Bethesda Store sells keys that bind exclusively to Bethesda launcher. Rage 2, ESO, Fallout Shelter, Fallout 76, just a few examples.

        1. Its funny how consumers take company side (like you) where they dont give a f@@k about you at all.

    1. Seems to me they should release on as much platforms as possible. After all GTA V made them millions on Steam. That game has been on Steam top sellers every year since release.

That said I would not be surprised by this move. But exclusive to Epic forever I highly doubt it. No matter how much money Epic has, I doubt they can match what Steam earned for them with GTA V.

If the whole point is making money then sticking to one Store for life would be asinine.

After all the whole point of releasing RDR2 on PC and Next Gen consoles is to get people to buy as many times as possible. That seemed to work with GTA V.

Some people bought that game 3 times. While I do believe is coming to PC some day, I don’t think this is true. This will come to PC when the next gen consoles come out.

      1. RS gets a bigger percentage take from Epic and the fans of the game wont care if it is not a steam client user.

        1. It sold 10 million copies on Stean in spite of being sold elsewhere (cheaper) as Social Club key. So some people care. Al least 10 million of them.

    2. Epic Store: 88% money for developers
      Steam: 70% money for developers
Windows Store: 70% money for developers and forced Windows 10

    3. At least we would can get the RDR2 PC on Social Club and buy there instead buying on the sh**ty store of Epic.

  1. Eh mostly this wont really effect the people who don’t want to support the store at all as they will just buy it of Rock Stars store. Which is what I was planning on doing anyways.

    1. Yeah cause since GTA V Rockstar have their own store front where you can just buy heir games and play it via their own client social club. That’s how I played GTA V. I always try to circumvent Steam or any other DRM client IF IT’S AN OPTION. Social Club is still a DRM (didn’t realize it till it was too late), atleast I’m supporting the company directly. I still hate DRM regardless. But it’s the best I can do in that situation.

  2. Hey so.. 4chan is user posted content.. meaning just because one person posted a real leak, doesn’t mean the next person did. I’d hold off on even reporting about it.

    1. Trust me, my uncle is a 4chan and he says this is legit.

The hacker known as 4chan has never and would never lie on the Internet.

    1. I hope it’s true, I want to see what gamers would do? Because it seems all talk and people are flooding the epic store for their trashware regardless. You know how much PC gamers worship Rockstar, let’s see what they do when their God turn their back on them.

        1. You notice that Schitt too? I just never understood the hype over GTA V. The game was boring as hell and it’s because I believe it was built for 12 year olds that wanna run around and play make believe that they are gangsters. But you mention Rockstar and everyone losses their God Damn Mind, I just never understood the hype. When I look at RDR 2, that game deserves the hype it’s getting but GTA, hell no. Let’s just see how terribly unoptimized the PC version will be. GTA V, ran like Trash. And doesn’t deserve that hype at all.

        1. GTA5 is trash. GTA4 sucks pretty hard too so he’s being very generous. The last “good” game Rockstar made was GTA SA. Unless you like incredibly boring garbage like Red Dead Redemption – first RS game I’ve ever been unconcerned about playing. The same repetitive gameplay as GTA but with a less interesting setting and wonkier mechanics.

          1. Any reasons behind it aside from «Let me [try to] troll these guys» and «Games used to be better»?

          2. – GTA5 has no singleplayer content whatsoever. It was entirely ignored in favor of GaaS GTA Online nonsense in order to force sales of digital currency
            – The game itself has one of the least entertaining post-game worlds since the series went 3D. You literally can’t do anything once you finish the story except drive around, in singleplayer, which is the same as usual but unlike previous games that isn’t even fun.
            – Police in GTA5 are ridiculous stupidity compared to previous games, they find you no matter where you are even if they can’t see you
            – Take Two triple dipped the game to max profits and leave PC audience on the bottom decks
            – Take Two is hostile to modders and misguidedly so, taking punitive stances on things like OpenIV to “stop cheaters” while doing nothing to actually stop cheaters

I could go on. Also lacks any of the fun features from San Andreas except car customization. Story was boring and lacked anything memorable like previous games,

          3. > GTA5 has no singleplayer content whatsoever

Except GTAV itself, haha. Yeah, I won’t even be reading further.

          4. Of dear God… Don’t even bother trying to talk to that guy. His name says it all dude. Sorry it took me so long to warn you. Just block him now and be done with it. Don’t waste your life here bro.

      1. Ayy, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. If you’re going to pirate it means you actually want to play it.

        1. You are responding to “RDR 2 CPY Edition”.
Anyways, if you think GTA V and RDR2 are “mediocre games” you might as well be screaming hipster. Everyone is entitled o their own opinion, I guess.

  3. why would rockstar release their game on epic’s and not their own store? this is fake most likely.

    1. Well, they did this with GTA wich was released on both Steam and Social Club, so it really can happen again, but with Epic this time. No big deal.

      1. they’ll get 100 percent revenue on the base game and dlcs on their own launcher (social club).
epic is making an aggressive marketing move, this is known as full-scale invasion on the market which requires the most amount of resources from the attacker between all of the tactics available to those who attack for market share, nothing would surprise me at this point.
take2 is no small or medium company so it will take a lot more resources and money to convince them.

  4. The Borderlands 3 Epic deal has been known for weeks so it wouldn’t surprise me if this turned out to be true. It would also be available on Rockstar’s store, much like Division 2 was on Uplay.

  5. If they do what they did with GTA V and keys from GMG, Fanatical, etc. are for R* Social Club launcher, I’ll just get it through that. It’s usually cheaper, and there’s no sense in having 2 layers for DRM.

  6. If ture it will be on both R* Social Garbage and Epic, both are cancers. the game itself might not even come this year, they should fix the broken and already dead multiplayer first and add tons more Microtransactions and milk it then they will release the PC version unless they already gave up on it’s online on consoles. either way fooled me once with GTAV, never again.

    1. GTA V had a crappy story, bad writing, sketchy “optimization”, and that cancerous club and costly content, as well as MT’s and long load times. RDR2 is confirmed to have MT’s within their online side, as well as a stupid checkpoint system for their lackluster story.

I’m literally missing nothing if this turns out to be true.

  7. A game from a company that dont respect pc gamers exclusive on the most hated storefront…

I would buy it second hand for my ps4pro just to spite them, but i want more than 30fps

Cpy/codex i know it was long time since i required your services but this time im counting on you.

I think i actually hate rockstar more than epic

    1. You can call me hater, because its true i hate rockstar. Why, they can drive every PC gamer outthere full r*tard despite they are always middle fingering us. Sad story.

      1. Yea i also remember razor 1911 and vitality and fairlight(flt) and fitgirl and plazza for repacks but for denuvo protection i think only cpy and codex are the one capable to cracks those games

    2. maybe your rtx 2080ti,with 9900k will only do use on tiny arcade games soon.due to AAA games soon or later will only on epic store.btw.i´m not pc gamer. my opinion is intall the epic right now.

  8. That game was terrible and dated AF. I there returning it to GameStop. Biggest mistake I made was playing it right after Mass Effect 3. Because after these high adrenaline romp fest on ME3, then jump to snooze fear on MP3, it was Game over for me. I was like, “WTF is this?”

  9. max settings 1440p 30+ FPS ON MYM ONSTER PC RYZEN 7 1700 16 GB DDR4
    3200MHZCL15 GS KILL RIP JAWS GTX 970 G1 GAMING DELLP2416D 24” 2560X1440
60 HZ IPS AND WILL UPLOAD VIDEO ON YOUTUBE SO EVRYONE CAN SEE HOW I THE
SHREDDDER LEADER OF FOOT NINJAS MAKE MY ENEMIES SUFFER!
    MUHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

    1. Ryzen 1700 ? GTX 970 ? You call that a monster PC ?? You’ll get 30fps- on Max Settings even on 1080p

          1. How dare you?! Iam THE SHREDDER! Leader of he foot ninjas! Turtle killer! And this pc as monster AS I AM! BECAUSE IAM A MONSTER TOO!

  10. Damn… I was really looking forward to this game on PC… I HATE the Epic Store…. It’s TERRIBLE!!

To any devs that might read this: I am most likely going to pirate this game that I would have otherwise bought, simply because it’s on the Epic Store and I don’t want that terrible software on my computer. No one likes this platform, no one wants to use it, and unless Epic is playing an ungodly amount of money for you to do so, moving your games exclusively to this platform is going to make you lose more money than you make.

      1. Exactly, i just don’t understand the anger towards epic. It’s not like they are locking their games in a single Operational System like Microsoft Win Store exclusives. I just wish certain billionaire game stores like Steam could invest in games in a similar way, or better.

  11. For me it wasn’t either a great game or a bad game…but I remember it had one of the worst cover to cover mechanics of any game ever made.

    1. Yet once you get to a corner or any cover the character tried to stick to it and the camera had no idea how to behave, it was done that way and it was garbage.
It is one of the bad things that I still remember, how it was meant to play is something different, but that system was there and it was bad. And also bullet time was made 100% better in FEAR games in my opinion.

      1. Not a core mechanic, you are right there but still it was implemented in the game and was poorly done. They rather kept the typical “move right or left, crouch” to cover manually than that awfully done “semi-auto stick to the wall” thing that never worked well.
So long since I played that game and still remember to talk about this with my friends, it was annoying back in the day. But still just the one bad thing in the game for me.

We are not debating here, just pointing out (to the other guy) something negative that I remembered from that game, don’t have the same thinking like him about Max Payne since never played the older ones, and to me is not one of those “memorable games” that I played in the past…It was quite average to me actually, one of my friends loved it. (he actually made me play it)

Many games try to do multiple things at the same time and some do them right and some others don’t, Max Payne did the core stuff right maybe but that particular thing…not to me.

PS: Hope you get my point because I sure got yours right after the first comment. No need for debate about this little thing, right? 😉

  12. Epic’s list of anti-consumer practices grows by the day. I’m compiled a list of anti-consumer practices Epic has been trying to pull on us…so far. You can either check out a detailed explanation / analysis of all the things wrong with Epic at the end of the post or check out the TL:DR version for a summary.

    TL:DR version :

-Forced third party exclusive deals and robbing us customers the options to to buy from other stores like Steam / GOG

-Restricting / preventing other official stores from competing and selling those games on their stores and any third party sites for cheaper

-Implementing all kinds of anti-consumer policies on their stores and strong-arming them on customers.

-Lack of many features of other storefronts / launchers, chiefly Steam

    https://imgur.com/P6cIq1u

    -No forum support

-Review system is opt-in by developers / publishers who has full control over it

-Epic’s disdain of PC gamers in general as well as calling us toxic, pirates and blaming PC gamers for lack of sales

    -Limited and convoluted refund system

-Epic owned 48 percent by the Chinese company Tencent who is infamous for spying and censoring people

-Epic collaborating with the Chinese company Tencent to sell user information to them or with any others in the world as stated in their EULA

-Epic’s lack of security on their store / launcher with numerous hacking successful attempts as well as actual spying on PC users through its launcher

-Epic does not comply with the GDPR laws set by the EU and have seemingly broken a few

-Epic’s CEO, Tim Sweeney expressing his desire for an open free PC platform where stores and customers can freely compete and buy games from without restriction while doing the exact opposite with forced third party exclusives and strong-arming customers with anti-consumer policies. He has recently stated on Twitter that Epic wants to compete by creating “store wars” and forced third party exclusives on their store instead of improving their stores with better features and services to appeal to customers

    https://imgur.com/a/3836Qnf

-Bad or lack of regional pricing

    -Bad customer service

And here’s the detailed analysis / explanation of all the things wrong with Epic as a company and a store

    https://steamcommunity.com/groups/NoExclusiveGames/discussions/0/1796278072844560561/

        1. I think I’m gonna block him for good now. I really tried to be his friend but Don Quixote a.k.a Squirrel Brain has become too much to bare. And I don’t like blocking people, it just seems like Puzzy way out, but I’m this close to becoming a Puzzy, because it’s hard to have a discourse with someone that lacks comprehension skills. You’ll basically be talking about one thing and then he starts accusing you of being a Steam Fanboy. Even though you don’t shop steam.

Me: “So I hope this game gets GoG release and not just be an epic store exclusive”
Don Quixote: just another steam Fan boy that hates on Epic Store
          Me: WTF? ?

          1. Man O’man, you have no idea. This guy will stress you out man. Dude is Wild’n out. There is Trolling & then there is this guy. To say he’s trolling is an insult to trolls. Atleast with trolls they make you laugh but talking to that guy, it’s basically constant vertigo.

      1. Thats becasue u clearly dont have a clue, and are living in a delusional state. Epic has brainwashed you, thats for sure.

        1. Not that he is delusional…he is like the millions of sheep that have lost their sense of individuality, given up their freedom, and lost the ability to think!

        2. The irony of that comment should hopefully not be lost on people.

          —-
But, on the topic. Yes, it’s a pain for people who want to rigidly stick to the one single PC storefront, the one that has held a monopoly for so long that the average consumer now overlooks many anti-consumer and anti-business practices. There’s a reason, other than money, indie games are happy to go to EGS and that’s because Steam has literally become a hive of filth which quite literally covers quality indie titles and stops them being seen.

Epic are going about this the wrong way as well, though i will say it’s not exactly different to how consoles have gone about it for over a decade, which people accepted.

      2. Why would you buy a game on the Epic store when everyone else is just pirating them?

JFYI you should capitalize the start of a sentence and end with a period, no matter how retarded you are.

    1. Tim Sweeney: “Automatically got the rights the rights to all games“.

I can’t believe this guy is the founder of Epic, He sounds like a f*cking tool.

    2. “Bad customer service” i loled as steam customer service is infamous for that

anyways i hate using another launcher as much as the next guy but whats with the epic store hate? not even the windows store has close to this hate

steam takes a 30% cut while barely offering anything. this is a good thing to make them step up their game

      1. lmao this is your only argument? the 30 percent that steam takes? how dumb are you pro epic store imbecils that you do not see the issue. THEY are taking away options for the consumer, moneyhatting developers and stealing pre orders on steam directly. this is not competition, steam doesnt need to change sh*t. they are doing just fine and e3pics money will run out at some point and they have even admitted to that. stop making it about the 30 percent if you have absolutely no f*king idea wtf you are talking about.

its a sh**ty a*s client with no features, spyware, trying to make the open pc platform a closed one with f*king exclusives. if you consider that competition then you obviously have no f*king idea what you are saying and it just makes you look like a f*king dum**ss inbred.

its one thing to sell YOUR OWN GAMES as exclusives in your own client (EA AND ORIGIN, UPLAy), BUT TO pay publishers to take it away from steam and force consumers to use ur sh**ty client, my god. day 1 pirate. so 2k can say we are filthy pirates and they never bring a gta or rdr game ever again on the pc.

        1. complaining about the client? steam is a glorified web browser thats still buggier and slower than a standard web browser so what are we even talking about?

its easier to just use firefox to browse their store what does that tell
you? chat gets bugged often and their app doesnt even work most of the
time with people not getting notified with new messages and what not

they are incredibly lazy and dont even want to curate the content on their own store. check the all new releases without the the adult filters and it looks like a p*rn flash site from 10 years ago or something

as for the epic store, its just a stupid application where you click play why is that such a big deal? and dont tell me its because it “spies” on you, the whole internet does that if you really cared then youd be behind many proxies and VPNs anyways

unbelievable how people get about downloading another free application thats actually giving steam some competition and hopefully will motivate them to start fixing their stuff

and the 30% steam takes is a huge deal as it takes away most of the profit for big studios while doing nothing for them except giving them
visibility in a store which might as well be a monopoly. if steam wasnt
so popular and had real competition then sure as heck they wouldnt be
          taking 30% from devs

        2. lmao touched a nerve somewhere? sh**ty client? steam is a glorified web browser thats still buggier and slower than a standar web browser. its easier to just use firefox to browse their store what does that tell you? chat gets bugged often and their app doesnt even work most of the time with people not getting notified with new messages and what not

they are incredibly lazy and dont even want to curate the content on their own store. check the all new releases without the the adult filters and it looks like a p*rn flash site from 10 years ago or something

its just a stupid application where you click play, dont tell em about spyware please. the whole internet is spying on you, google, facebook, NSA, etc. if you care about privacy then i hope right now youre behind many proxies and VPNs.

unbelievable how people get about downloading another free application thats actually giving steam some competition and hopefully will motivate them to start fixing their sh*t

and the 30% steam takes is a huge deal as it takes away most of the profit for big studios while doing nothing for them except giving them visibility in a store which might as well be a monopoly. if steam wasnt so popular and had real competition then sure as heck they wouldnt be taking 30% from devs

          1. lmao, still with the strawman argument of competition when you have absolutely no f*king clue what competition is. keep supporting sh**ty practices on the open platform that is the PC. idiots like you are the reason epic sh*t store is doing this. 30 percent is the f*king standard everywhere, nobody going to the DISCORD store that takes 10 percent only, you know why? cause they dont buy exclusivity and steal games from steam,. which is exactly what they are doing. thats not competition. cause you know, a lot of these epic games exclusive are available at the windows store and developers own client. but not on steam, what does that tell you? that ts compeition? jesus son, you are just as DUMB as they come.

          2. dude did epic store rape your mom or something? the way you react seems out of place.

truth be told i havent even used epic store yet, only got it recently for the free “the witness” game but didnt get to see it. and yea if it sucks right now due to very few features like no cloud saves then that sucks, guess we can cross our fingers and hope they make it better in the future.
but yes, steam has NO competition ATM and finally having some wont hurt

      2. So tired of stupid 90s kids and contrarians.

Steam offers everything you could ever possibly need or want.

        1. and what are you. a retarded 2000″s kid? or an old 70’s dirty hippie that cant seem to grow up?

        2. a store thats full of p*rn games, an application thats basically a buggy
and slow web browser that takes a 30% cut while offering only visibility in a
store thats a monopoly in practical terms? sure

          1. its slow on your side kid. epic has no games, no features, they added a search bar!!!! lmao so trash. no cloud saves in 2019!!! oh wait, you are going to tell me its a nerw client? it needs time? MAYBE IF DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION was a NEW thing, but it is not. they have absolutely no escuse to be so barebones in 2019. trash thinking from trash console fa**ot that only throws ONE argument, the 30 percent argument. that is all you say cause u have no brain to debate about it.

        3. a store thats full of p*rn games, an application thats basically a buggy and slow web browser and a 30% cut while offering only visibility in a store thats a monopoly in practical terms? sure

      3. A prominent business publication gave Valve Corporation a big fat F for customer service. After that Steam implemented its still anti-consumer 2-hour refund policy, before that they had no refund policy in place for years.

    3. Hi,

      – No third-party developers/publishers were forced to do anything. If you have evidence showing otherwise please provide it.

      – Epic cannot restrict other stores, like Steam and GOG, from doing anything. Again, please provide specific evidence.

      – Customers see what they are getting at the Epic store and are not being forced to even download the launcher, let alone buy anything.

      – Customers see that the store lacks features Steam has, so what.

      – Customers know there is no forum, so what. Where does it say a store must have a forum?

      – Customers understand how the review system works. Steam’s reviews are mostly rubbish anyway, this being my favorite: “I haven’t played this game but believe me it’s great.”

      – Epic’s disdain for PC gamers is subjective and opinionated.

      Should I go on?

If you don’t like the Epic store don’t buy games there. Leave developers alone and let them make their own business decisions. You aren’t entitled to games on Steam. You can’t always get what you want. You are making gamers look like entitled, whining babies who have tantrums when things don’t go their way.

  13. Grain of salt?, why bother, it’s a done deal t this point.

It’s also a sure fire way of getting me to perma block any of R*’s games for the rest of time. GTA V didn’t wow me, especially it’s visuals, lacking story and lacking performance, which means I’ve little interest in an expensive console port of a “demanding” RDR2 port.

  14. This could actually happen. They’ll Just do what Ubisoft did. Basically they’ll just skip steam, release it on their own store/client, social club and also in the epic store. Which you can’t really complain then, cause it’s on social club where you can buy it directly from Rock Star. I bought GTA V directly from social club. I personally don’t care for Rock star games, I played 15% of GTA V and called it a day. But RDR2 does look like it’s more my speed.

    1. Pretty sure what you bought was a steam key (or link to) and had to fire up the steam client to download.

      1. Hey Squirrel brain didn’t I tell you to stop spreading trash? Pretty sure you are an idiot and have comprehension issues. You are obsessed with steam. Whenever someone types something, all you see is STEAM. I’d like to know exactly where I said I bought a Steam key. When you buy directly from Rockstars site, THERE IS NO STEAM. You download your game directly from Rockstar and play it from the social club client. What is the matter with you Boy?..

        1. You did not write ‘social club client’, how about linking to proof of it’s existence instead of insults.

    2. I finished GTAV and RDR 1, RDR while good, its def a slower experience. I wont be double dipping the PC version.

      1. Why do you believe someone will get banned for talking about piracy? It’s not against the rules NOR illegal

    3. Yeah I don’t understand why PC gamers especially worship Rockstar so damn much. They make the most money on PC & yet we are an after thought to them. PC gamers love being the side B*tch it seems.

    4. My last Rockstar game is San Andreas. I never buy a game from them because you are right, these after console releases are just a middle finger to PC gamers. Sadly PC Gamers lacks self respect.

  15. On the one hand, it would be nice if RDR2 was on Steam.

On the other hand, it would be funny to watch people here pretend that the game is sh*t because of Epic Store exclusivity.

    Can’t decide which is better.

    1. People dont say games are sh*t, they are not console fanboys, they just saying they wont be buying them on Epic store.

    2. The game is cool. Buy I didnt went running to buy a console to play RDR2 back in the past. Borderlands 3 looks cool but you wont see me installing spyware on my PC because that game

  16. Hey John, my dad works at Nintendo, Mario 64 is coming to Steam in July.
Both Resetera and 4chan are godawful places filled with misinfo and rethoric, people need to stop taking their shit seriously.

    1. Everything that could give Epic a boost is being published here. No matter the source, no matter the who, sounds good for Epic? Insta published. Another pawn in this macabre game. Time for looking somewhere else for my PC news.

  17. OK easier to sail the high seas. Cockstar delayed PC version for a year again, RD Online is 100 times more grindy than GTA Online, and now this.

Someday in 2020 on sale then for single-player.

  18. I would certainly download it to test and see the differences between the two versions, but honestly, this game is quite boring.
Anyway, PC gamers should be happy and stop whining over stores.
You guys are acting like those peasants fighting over wich console is better, not knowning all of them suck.

    1. One always suck worst than others. Guess about a console that spies on you, we know what console sucks more. Peasants are always cool when someone take their lands. You sound like a peasant right now.

  19. Cool, I’d love to see RDR2 for the PC in the near future… Oh and I am sorry for the positive feedback, I don’t even know if its allowed in here anymore? Plz don’t kill or hurt me or anything..

  20. Hardly true, games that are known big hitters will earn more money on steam than EPIC, that’s for sure just look at their politics after some sales numbers.

    1. What should he do, Hey use my platform for free, dont pay me a dime. What you would do, if customers wants a barebone store thata spies on your files? maybe its time to retire from business.

      1. Let’s see, develop interesting single player games again (Portal, Half life), make the same deal Epic is making with other companies, bring more forgotten console port to Steam like the most recent David Cage games, etc. They certainly have the money, and the competition would be exciting and not depressive like what we have now.

  21. Lol they never learn do they any way I will see you guys at the docks I guess we will be on the high seas again

    1. What is the difference? I am sure guys like you would have pirated the game anyway even if it came out on Steam. Last I checked piracy existed way before Epic Game Store was even created. An overwhelming majority of pirated games on PC are games released on Steam…

      1. lol i own over 400+ games why would i pirate if i have the chance to buy the game ? if the game isnt on a store i use then it’s getting pirated that’s all i use GOG –STEAM –ORIGINS –DISCORD –BATTLE.NET is the game on any of these stores ? if not the dev and f—-k off

  22. “it’s almost certain that this third-person title will find its way on the PC.”

Yeah, almost as certain as the first one John? Because we all know THAT came out on PC now… oh wait…

  23. The one being really salty about “the boycott” on Epic is John. Just see how many news about Epic exclusive games but games that are a hit right now on Steam are being ignored by Dsog. This has become a political campaign and its pretty clear what candidate Dsog is supporting. Make exclusives a pain again!!!

  24. Their RDRO must have failed hard for them to pull the double dip trigger this early. And on Epic. AAA companies dont want to give on-the-level deals, just meticulously crafted and timed schemes that fabricate value from nothing.

  25. I’ll play it, but they won’t get my money. My only concern is that Rockstar anticipating this could implement some weird gameplay bugs for people pirating the game. I mean you know those guys at Rockstar, anything to get that money.

I would like to see Valve and Microsoft put away differences and form a deal and partnership to ward off Epic Games – with Valve steering the ship of course.

  26. Please Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo……………………………………………………………

  27. other than games made by epic, none of these deals to bring games first on epic’s launcher is permanent.

  28. That 18% is f*king massive , specially for sh1th0le a$$ countries with bunch of taxes and regulations , i see nothing wrong with Epic getting ground because of this , in fact , that is awesome.
I just wish an indie dev. who would develop for PC exclusively could take advantage of this and go for a groundbreaking PC Exclusive with graphics like the Rebirth Quixel demo.

  29. I hope Epic is satisfied that they’re flat out destroying demand for games and convincing people to stop gaming altogether.

    1. Yessir Jessup! My backlog has been doing the same kind of carnage on my will to buy overpriced unpolished and exclusive turds.

    2. Yessir Jessup! My backlog has been doing the same kind of carnage on my will to buy overpriced unpolished and exclusive turds.

  30. HAHA oh Epic. There’s yet another $80 saved and 100+ hours I’ll spend…cruising around on my motorcycle, hanging out with my wife and friends, making a new solid wood computer desk, eating Iberian ham, etc etc etc….etc.
Ive long since stopped caring one iota about their acquisitions.

  31. That doesn’t make any sense.

Why? Why would Take Two release a blockbuster game on someone ELSE’S platform when they have their own store? When they sold millions of copies of GTA5 on Steam and RSSC without it?

Rockstar made the most successful video game ever made in the history of time, including Tetris which doesn’t count. WHY would they of ALL developers have their game on a platform where theres no reason to have it?

And the worst part is this is probably true. WHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHY.

    I’m done. I quit.

    1. That’s not contradiction. It’s a statement of fact.

So because their own store sucks it somehow means they should use Epic instead of Steam, the platform by which they were able to make any money on PC in the first place.

    2. Imagine you are a customer that wants to preorder 1 million copies for a single game. That customer name is Epic.

  32. I am not sure why Steam is so quiet!! They should come out and give a statement what to expect from them in future.

Eventhough how loyal we are to steam if they dont bring blockbuster games to their store then customers are going to pass on and buy from epic store one day.

  33. Props for saying so. Metro Exodus was the first PC game that I pirated.

    F**k Epic Games Store!

    #epicfail

  34. Reading the comments makes me glad Rockstar Games keeps PC gamers as ‘second thought’. In a way I hope this game never makes to PC. Ungrateful POS so-called “PC Master Race” more like “PC Egoistical If-not-60-fps-it-is-unoptimized-crap Gamers”.

  35. Gamers love to whine. Who cares about some stupid store. The game will be playable on Mouse Keyboard at 60fps. What more can one want.

    1. It runs on your mom’s oven and syphons your tube’s privacy. But you don’t care cause the game’s a running on your pc, which is just now a front in which a store has been stapled upon. And you know that you will like having its tender fingers glistening inside your inner case, past your rgb mommyboard and over your dad’s rainbow ram. Your kb and mouse, what more can one want?

  36. Guys calm the **** down. Don’t blow your load now, wait for April 22nd to explode in anger.

  37. I’d love to see this happen, just to see if valve will finally react and compete. Valve is in not in a position to keep letting these major titles continue to slip as they do not have much else going for them anymore other then them leaching off the whole pc gaming market.

  38. LOL! I quit pirating games since, like 15 years ago… and now, THEY will make me restart this sh*t! Wow really, good job, you bunch of stupida$$

      1. It will be easy to see whether the RDR2 “leak” is real. If the game is not announced on April 22nd, it was fake. So for the time being (and given that he did post a fake rumour so this could also be fake) we’ve decided to mark it as fake.

  39. It’s always a pleasure to watch a comment section burn after anything related to the Epic Game Store.

I love watching little kids shouting at a wall.

  40. Of course it was fake but now I won’t be shocked. For Take Two to not release RDR2 on Steam (assuming it even releases on PC which it won’t) would be utterly ridiculous.

  41. Hahahahahahahaha I knew was fake from the gecko. Considering all the fiasco around Epic Store and also a good chance to get media’s attention
