Back in March 2019, we informed you about the possibility of CD Projekt RED revealing Cyberpunk 2077’s release date at E3 2019. CD Projekt RED claimed back then at E3 2019 will be really important to it, and it appears that we were right.
NeoGAF’s member ‘Braldryr’, who has also revealed that Gears 5 will come out in September 2019, claimed that during Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference, CD Projekt RED will give a progress update on the game’s development, will release a new gameplay trailer, and will reveal the game’s targeted release date.
As you’d expected, a targeted release date is a bit vague but it will at least give gamers an idea of when they can expect to play this highly anticipated role-playing title. Our guess is that CD Projekt RED will target a 2020 release on current-gen platforms.
This report falls in line with what we were expecting to happen, so we are not really surprised by it. Still, it feels could being proven right… right?
There were some earlier rumours suggesting a 2019 release date for Cyberpunk 2077, however we are pretty sure that this game targets a 2020 release. At this point, and given the radio silence, a 2019 seems unlikely.
Stay tuned for more!

Spring 2020 i think or fall 2020
I’m so hyped.
As far as visuals go, if they just keep what they’ve shown and not downgrade at launch like TW3, I will be more than happy.
I expect great things from CDPR. They’re one of the few great studios left.
downgrade? what is there to downgrade to begin with? i thought the lighting and ao looked flat and poor but i liked the overall setting and the atmosphere in the game.
i dont care till i see nightime footage with neon.
I will agree…not that “I don’t care” but my interest and excitement would skyrocket if I see nighttime footage with rain and lots of neon lights, and amazing water effects(puddles, reflections, etc). That is the picture that comes to mind whey we talk “cyberpunk”…
someone made some cyberpunk district video on youtube and cdprojekt hired him. Hopefully he will design some of the areas in the game.
do u have link for the video he made?
They have reasons to show gameplay only in daytime.
This game will be amazing at night, I guarantee it.
I’m still baffled playing TW3, imagine this one.
What about EA??
i am willing to bet march 2020 as the release date
December 2019
Epic Games Store exclusive for 6 months, reliable source from Warsaw told me recently.
I don’t think cdpr is capable of doing such thing, their “free-drm” policy is something they take very seriously…I guess…
He’s trolling. CDPR are on public record in saying this game won’t be exclusive to #EpicFail.
Yeah i think so too, but there’s no 100% certainty sadly.
Yes there is considering they literally own GOG
You can never know, even ubisoft owns uplay…It isn’t likely i know, but there’s no 100% certainty
Uplay is a f*king failure and GOG isn’t.
There is 100% certainty because thousands people will buy Cyberpunk from there and CDProjekt will keep every cent.
Stop being idiotic
No there’s no 100% certainty no matter what you say. And stop being a douche.
There’s 100% certainty because CDProjekt focuses heavily on PR and image and they own GOG.
Why is this hard to understand?
Bwahahaha! Ya, that’d be like Microsoft making the next Halo, exclusive to Steam. CDPR has GoG, you know, their OWN store? If it were going to be exclusive anywhere, I’m pretty sure it would be there. You know, logic and all that stuff.
This is to say nothing of CDPR already debunking any “exclusivity” rumors, and CDPR’s word, is probably the best of any company in s**t turd of an industry.
CDPG Inc owns GoG, the only real store being just a store selling 100% DRM-free products and not requiring some forced spyware launcher download disguised as an innocent store that everyone blindly signs up for without regard for TOS agreements – just like everyone does with every other license they agree to. It’s like Walmart sending a “no big deal, just an easy to install camera” to watch me use the new toilet paper I bought.
So you see, CDPR doesnt need to be exclusive to EGS. Game will sell great.
Sarcasm is like food in Africa, not everyone gets it!
Both of his “rumours/leaks” sound more like an educated guess honestly.
Regardless can’t wait for the inevitable downgrade and damage control by fanboys.
The first thing they will downgrade is NPCs, that highly detailed NPCs in an open world title with current hardwares are impossible i guess.
Exactly. Since they don’t have these long sight lines like in the Witcher 3, it’s a lot easier to optimize by aggressively culling everything behind the skyscrapers that is not in view.
Yes but still that needs too much power that most mid to high PCs (and all consoles) can’t handel.
It does. we have seen worst looking titles struggle.
Experience, simple as that. we don’t have any games with that much detailed npcs on a street, yet they struggle with less.
Pretty much considering current console CPU limitations, so unless it’s a crossgen with 9th Gen consoles it will be severely downgraded.
And it will be epic store exclusive
Yeah. Lets downgrade this awsome game to a pathetic 6 years old low end hardware with limited speed and controlls ….
Sounds awesome… If it would be a Pc exclusive it would look and play 3x better
In case you dont know. If you make a rly good Product ppl will buy it.
That was hyped up to the stars and no one knows wtf was that game until we got it..
AKA hype train
You’re putting the biggest lie on videogames together with one of the most loved companies, so I assume you’re kinda ‘special’.
GoG getting better and better.
Hate to p*ss on your PC gamer hate parade but CD Projekt Group Inc owns GoG and are full supporters of DRM-free gaming. GoG is the only real distribution platform and nothing else – not hiding anything shady nor requiring a “store” client download that spies on users.
Most likely it will be there and sell great just like Witcher 3 did – 100% DRM-FREE and all.
So .. Indication of the possibility of the release date of the release date. In other news : Also nothing.
