Red Barrels has just announced its latest project in the Outlast universe, The Outlast Trials. Set in the era of the Cold War, The Outlast Trials will allow players to face the horrors that await by themselves or with fellow test subjects.
The Outlast Trials is still in production and the team did not reveal any additional details.
Red Barrels’ co-founder David Chateauneuf said:
“Now we’ve done our proof of concept, it is time focus on content creation, variety… and gore.”

The day Outlast was officially ruined
Why?
Looks like multiplayer-focused sh*t.
But meh, Outlast 2 was a lot worse than the original anyway, it was a frustrating trial-and-error chase game instead of a spooky exploration/stealth game.
I agree with you, i liked Outlast 2, but the first is better in regards to the trial and error stuff.
i dont know man the second game was trash too.
I don’t know, I’m thinkin cold war mkultra seems like a decent theme, is it the multiplayer element? That does seem like an odd fit actually.
One of the worst horror game series ever, we want something like F.E.A.R. again.
