Sniper Elite fans, here is something for you today. Rebellion has issued a press release for Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, in which the company has confirmed that the next part in the Sniper Elite series is currently under development.
As Rebellion stated in its press release, the next major title in the Sniper Elite series, following in the footsteps of the widely acclaimed Sniper Elite 4, is being worked on now. As such, and given that Sniper Elite 5 will be based on Sniper Elite 4, I guess we can expect more open-world environments with more detailed slow-mo kills.
Unfortunately, this new Sniper Elite game won’t be released anytime soon. Rebellion claimed that more details on the development of the upcoming mainline Sniper Elite game will be released in 2020. So yeah, this seems like a game targeting next-generation platforms.
Stay tuned for more!

more open world shtick, great.
More like Elite Boredom
i thought 4 didnt make money
Ehhhh, why?? make something new ??? I played only sniper elite 2 and its enough already.
Gamers don’t want new.
Gamers want new…the “sheep” gamers want battle royale!
Yeah, but when hundreds of millions of gamers are playing those battle royale games, you can’t say “gamers want new”.
If I had money to put on the table to invest in a game’s development, I’d just make a brain-dead looter shooter with no story but piles of microtransactions shoved in. This is what ungodly amounts of gamers apparently are fine with. Sad but true.
hhmmmm sure
A tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny contingent of vocal people on the Internet scream about new, but when “new” is actually released, it’s almost always summarily ignored by the general public in favor of multiplayer shooter #3098.
When gamers throw billions at the same old thing year over year, there’s no incentive for large publishers to invest their money into anything different. If I had $50m to invest into a game, I’d definitely put it into a multiplayer shooter that’s stuffed to the gills with micro-transactions.
Now, that’s not to say that indie or mid-budget developers don’t and shouldn’t experiment. That’s really the only place where experimentation is happening, but expecting Ubisoft or Rockstar or Blizzard to put out some odd, experimental artsy game… that’s not happening.
Look at how gamers disparage certain games as “walking simulators” in a very condescending way. They don’t want different. They want familiar.
GOD OF WAR is perfect example of new.
You’re joking right?
There’s literally nothing new about God of War 7.
It’s the 7th God of War game. The gameplay mechanics aren’t new, either. They literally just changed it from a hack and slash game to a Darksiders-like. Every single last thing in that game has been done before 12 times in another game EXCEPT the intro screen being nearly seamless with the first shot of the game.
“new”? That’s a popular IP dating back almost twenty years and is a basic hack-and-slasher. See what I mean? This is what gamers refer to when they think of new… stuff that’s be treaded and retreaded hundreds of times already.
That’s not really true. Plenty of “new” games sell well.
Not Fortnite, COD, Far Cry, Destiny well.
They did make something new. Strange Brigade. And it’s a good, fun game, and literally no one is playing it or bought it.
If you only played V2, you have no idea what you’re talking about. 3, 4, and NZA are much different and better experiences.
I’ll bet it’s another shooter.
If they make another sniper elite, make it more realistic. A shot to the nuts doesn’t kill you, they should make them drop to the floor in agony.
This is my biggest complaint with SE4, it’s almost impossible to wound enemies, you can shoot them in the toe and they either don’t care or die instantly, there is hardly any middle ground.
This games are coming out to fast, the quality will start to drop fast.
Games that stay in oven for longer, then to have higher success, are they desperate for money or lack the ideas and skills to make a new IP?
Disappoiting.
No more WW 2 setting though…Why not Vietnam or Cold War?
Did you just say “next generation platforms?”
This is PC. We do not speak of consoles. Not to mention SE is a PC game. Why it continues to be available on console is beyond me.
Sniper Elite 5 – You can kill Hitler, again, if you buy the kill Hitler DLC, AGAIN!
But no literally. Sniper Elite v2 – kill hitler DLC
Sniper elite 3 – kill hitler DLC
Sniper elite 4 – kill hitler DLC
The only game where killing hitler was actually part of the game was NZA2 where he was the last boss.
Not to say that the game should only be about that, because it’s a ww2 stealth game and it’s fun but the DLC to kill hitler is getting old.
