Dark Souls Remastered feature

QLOC will be handling the PC version of Dark Souls Remastered

It appears that the company behind some amazing PC ports, QLOC, will be handling the PC (as well as the PS4 and Xbox One) version of Dark Souls Remastered. Or at least this is what Kotaku has reported.

According to Kotaku’s reports, QLOC has been working on Dark Souls Remastered for almost a year in one capacity or another. Furthermore, and while FromSoftware may help the team with this remastered version of the first Dark Souls, QLOC is doing most of the work.

Gamerevolution also reports that QLOC will be handling the current-gen versions of Dark Souls Remastered, so I guess we can assume that this is the real deal.

QLOC has been responsible for Injustice 2 PC, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen PC, Dead Rising HD Remaster, Resident Evil 6, DmC: Devil may Cry and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. In other words, this is good news for all PC gamers. After all, Injustice 2 as one of our Top 10 most optimized PC games of 2017!

  1. Let’s just hope Bamco continue using the right company for their future pc port, and Koei Tecmo should be ashamed and follow the same path..

  2. Oh wow I was about to write “Who?” but these guys really did some of the best ports in recent years.

Now they are instantly one of my favourite devs!. Gonna remember that name. They really did only good. Even if it was just making ports.
Hell from all the terrible ports it looks like it ain’t really all that easy to do. Nice to know there are people that can do it right.

    1. Ye it’s silly. No where else on the internet I have to make sure to censor my fuc*ing words!

      Only Disqus.

          1. Yes, it comes with Disqus itself. Admins can add new words to the blacklist, though. Wccftech is pretty ridiculous in this department. Sometimes I double checked if some words from my posts could be offensive in any way and still, my comment had to wait for approval.

          2. It is. You can customize your site’s disqus filter to allow words or block them but if you don’t it has a custom dictionary it doesn’t allow.

        1. No. All sites that use Disqus auto-hold any comments that have any words that snag their filter. Doesn’t have to be a curse word.

      1. Don’t get too frisky with your comments. Trump has already threatened to have Bill Gates turn off the internet if it comes down to it. lmao

  3. Phew, we know it’s in good hands at least then. Here’s hoping somehow the engine allows for a fully unlocked frame rate, they managed to pull it off with Dragon’s Dogma so perhaps there’s hope.

    1. Yes, HVS ported the game at first, but QLOC fixed they horrible port job later and QLOC is not credited for that job.

  4. This is a bit weird, all of qloc’s games have been straight ports, as in- the-same-game-different-platform, +higher res, there were no new lighting systems, models etc…
So how do they remaster something like dark souls? Is it just “the same game” only with increased res/fps?
I mean I would imagine new models/textures/lighting more on the level of ds3 are a given for a remaster… But I can’t imagine a small Polish studio doing these things which are directly connected to the artistic side, I mean it has to be From doing these…
Maybe From will send the textures/models, maebe entire maps to them, and qloc’s just putting it all together in engine, or what?

Gosh, just give us a screenshot!

EDIT: and supposedly switch version developed in china…?

  5. Next news, QLOC isnt handling anything according to Bandai Namco Steam Hub manager. You have to take every news about this re-scam with a grain of salt.

  6. Bamco will probably do a half ar$ed job of “remastering” the game for PC
and charge 40$ for basically a graphics upgrade for those who can’t use Durante’s DSfix

i swear if the netcode is untouched, this remaster will end up in flames

  7. Dead Rising remaster was hardly a good part. It’s a literally 13 year old game and it runs far worse than it should on a 1080. Not to mention it will crash if you kill too many zeds at once.
