Project CARS Game of the Year Edition Releases Today

Bandai Namco and Slightly Mad Studios announced today the release of Project CARS Game Of The Year Edition on the PC. Project CARS is described as the most authentic, beautiful, intense, and technically-advanced racing game in the sim racing genre: featuring new technology such as built-in support for 12K and Virtual Reality.

The Game of the Year Edition features all released DLC, adjustments and other content included in one complete sim experience package.

Project CARS Game Of The Year Edition includes more than 50 new cars, four new tracks and over 60 new community-created liveries, bringing the grand total to 125 cars and 35 locations over 100 layouts. If that wasn’t enough, more than 500 features and improvements have also been added based on community feedback.

In addition, the Game Of The Year Edition will feature two special and exclusive items to Project CARS: the Nurburgring Combined Nordschieife + GP circuit and two exclusive Pagani vehicles: the Zonda Revolucion and Huayra BC.

  1. Does this version come with decent FFB or do you still have to program it yourself? I so wanted to like this game but my G25 has virtually nothing but centering forces applied.

    1. “more than 500 features and improvements have also been added based on community feedback.”

We can only hope it’s included within these fixes buddy

After some serious tweaking you can get FFB pretty sweet.

But I am using Logitech G920

      1. The g920 is basically a re-cased g25. Same guts, different look. Amd the g920 doesn’t come with a shifter. I have sern teardowns and they are pretty much identical. The g920 is a cadh grab from Logitech, who gave up on sim racing but now want to cash in. You should have bought Fanatec or Thrustmaster. Both are better then Logitech.

        1. A G920 with the optional shifter is considerably cheaper than say a Thrustmaster T300 and TH8A. I’d prefer a TM setup over Logitech, but money and individuals’ personal preferences are important factors in the choice.

      1. Thanks for the suggestion, and yes I’ve tried this briefly in the past but the files didn’t make any significant difference – still had overly heavy centering on all corners with a slight loading sensation when exiting corners. I’ve just spent an hour retrying these and can surmise that for myself the FFB deadzone removal calibration actually makes my FFB much less detailed, that the modded files alone don’t make any significant difference, but running with standard FFB deadzone + modded files + 50 tyre force softens the overall strength (was probably clipping beforehand) and I can now feel some tyre slip, bumps, and loading. It’s not entirely “there” yet, but definitely a step in the right direction!

    1. It’s just you, but regardless.
Unless you’ve downloaded the original recordings, comparing the downgraded YouTube vids and/or still photos you cant really compare the graphical quality.

Also whether the Beta is enhanced or identical to the final product, the correct comparison is when both were firsrt released, not when one is the upgraded Complete edition and the other pre-release beta

    1. it is one of the Best looking Racing Games now. IMO of course 😉
I have pCars also, and i’ve seen A.corsa and RR3 race room exp.

      1. As a suggestion, perhaps value racing games more on physics, handling, and force feedback (if applicable) over graphics as they really are more important to a racing game / sim. That’s why people still play 10+ year old titles nowadays.

  2. Game of the Year edition?
lets see what they put on their site, you know that will show at least one

What a year it’s been for Project CARS…
BEST RACING GAME 2015 – Gamespot (Top 25 Games of 2015)
BEST RACING GAME 2015 – Red Bull (Top 10 Games of 2015)
BEST RACING GAME 2015 – PC Gamer (Top Racing Games of 2015)
BEST RACING GAME 2015 – God Is A Geek (Best Of 2015)
BEST GRAPHICS 2015 – Techly (Annual Game Awards 2015)

nope not a single GotY award, nada.
4 best racing game awards, not my thing, but only 4 of these
(Was it the only one released in 2015, unlikely with only 4 awards)
1 best graphics, a subjective category, I have no idea if it desrved this, but the single award suggests not.

So why claim it’s a game of the year.

In my assessment, Witcher 3 swept the board, for GotY in 2015.
Even if another game got an award or 2, only one game deserves to be called GotY.
That’s the one that got most of the awards, in that year.

    1. Games are art, which is a subjective media – therefore awards are almost meaningless. Even if you try and quantify sales to justify a supposed quality standard, that still doesn’t result in an industry standard definition of superlatives.

Besides, it’s just a casual term used to describe a game in its complete form.

      1. “Besides, it’s just a casual term used to describe a game in its complete form.”

But I could have sworn that not long ago, it was a title bestowed to games from a game review site, it used to be more legit.
