Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Remastered coming to PC in 2025

Capcom has just announced a remaster for the second Onimusha game, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny. Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny Remastered will be coming to PC in 2025, and below you can find its debut trailer.

Sadly, Capcom hasn’t revealed any additional details. So, there is nothing more to share at this point. From what I can see, this feels too close to the original game. Or at least it’s not up to what Team Ninja offered with Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.

Speaking of Onimusha, Capcom also shared a new dev video for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Thus, I’ve included it below. Be warned though. It doesn’t feature any new gameplay footage from it. So, don’t expect much from this dev video.

As said, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny will be coming to PC sometime in 2025. On the other hand, Onimusha: Way of the Sword targets a 2026 release.

It’s quite refreshing to witness such love for the Onimusha franchise. And yes, it deserves it.

Let’s now hope that Capcom will treat Dino Crisis similarly. Earlier this month, Capcom re-released the first two Dino Crisis games on GOG. So, baby steps? Let’s at least hope that this re-release won’t be the only thing we get for the DC franchise.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

    1. The PC port of the 3rd one was the only Onimusha I played back in the day because I didn't have a PS2. Despite the port's issues I still had a blast. But yes, a proper remaster would be more than welcome.

  1. As an onimusha fan, this is great news, heart warming. However, I do wish they went for the rerelease path instead. Perhaps 1 to 3, or 1 to 4, or volume 1 with 1 and 2 and volume 2 with 3 and 4.
They won't want to put the budget on to remaster all games, mainly because they're not confident in it's sales potential and the onimusha audience is indeed a smaller one, but a re release of the games would pave the way better for the next entry.

Why? Not everything has to be a remake, which inevitably always have changes. I'm fine with a port that cleans up some things like UI and controls (that's usually what remasters are).
