NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti can easily run Sunset Overdrive in 4K on Max settings with 60fps

Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive has finally been released on the PC and we’ve decided to initially test our NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080Ti in 4K. And we are happy to report that this GPU has no trouble at all running the game in such resolution.

From the looks of it, the cut-scenes are more demanding than the actual game. As such, we noticed higher GPU usage during cut-scenes than when playing the game. Still, NVIDIA’s flagship had no trouble at all running the game with 60fps in 4K on max settings.

Unfortunately, though, Insomniac Games has not included any post-processing AA solution (like TAA or SMAA) and strangely enough MSI Afterburner was capturing the screenshots at 1080p. However, the game was actually rendering in 4K.

Above you can find two comparison screenshots between 1080p and 4K. Needless to say that the visual difference is huge as the 4K rendered image has less aliasing than the 1080p image.

Enjoy!

    1. If you look at screenshots his 2080Ti shows only 56% load at 4K/Ultra/60
Might do 8K-wide at 60 or native 6K at 60

  1. John, you really are triggering the NVIDIA RTX 200 series haters. The RTX 2080Ti is not worth it remember, it universally certified as a fact. 😉

  2. John when he had a GTX 980 Ti = NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti cannot run [Insert recently released AAA game] in 4K on Max settings with 60fps.

John now with a RTX 2080 Ti = NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti can easily run [Insert recently released AAA game] in 4K on Max settings with 60fps

    1. Well we always shared 4K screenshots for the games we’re benchmarking so I believe it’s better to also feature an initial performance report (which will be useful to those that cannot wait for our PC Performance Analysis articles).

      1. When will you start doing [Insert video card name] cannot run [Insert recently released AAA game] in 8K on Max settings with 60fps ???

        4K is getting old John

  3. Another article regarding how this card can run games in 4K ? What are you trying to prove here ? Yeah, we get it, it’s a 4K card. So what.

Not a big deal, because this game isn’t very demanding though. It’s not like this is the next-gen CRYSIS. Let’s move on, for Christ’s sake.

  4. Do we really need an article every time a $1200+ can run a video game? I mean, we get it, it can play games, especially those with very low requirements.

  5. John, can you change the image hosting from imgur to something else? because some country blocked this image hosting…

    1. Because it has no real mouse support. The game is one of the few that emulates an analog stick with the mouse, which is what makes the controls awful.

  6. Ah, RTX2080Ti, a great $1200 graphics card. You pay hundreds bucks more for 20% performance increase in games with RTX Off and 66% performance decrease in games with RTX On!
