NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 580.97 WHQL Driver Released, Optimized for Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition

NVIDIA has just released the GeForce Game Ready 580.97 WHQL driver for its graphics cards. According to the green team, this driver adds support for Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition and the DLSS 4 MFG Update for GTA 5 Enhanced Edition.

From what I can see, this driver does not have any new bug fixes. So, if you are not planning to play these two games, you can safely skip it. It also does not include any new version of the NVIDIA App.

The driver fixes one main problem with the Samsung 57” Odyssey Neo G9. NVIDIA says it has fixed the flicker and screen underflow issues that could happen when the monitor was just idling on the desktop. The GeForce 580.97 WHQL driver also fixes a problem on some laptops where the screen looked dim when an external HDR monitor was plugged in and the display mode was set to “NVIDIA GPU only.”

Since I already own Hellblade 2, I might take a look at the DLSS 4 MFG implementation once its update goes live. As for GTA 5 Enhanced, I could not make it work on my PC when it launched. So, I won’t most likely bother with its new update.

You can go ahead and download the GeForce Game Ready 580.97 WHQL driver from this link. Below, you can also find its complete changelog. So, be sure to check it out.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. You may want to install this driver to solve artifacting problems in Mafia The Old Country, which seemingly especially affected RTX 5090 users on 580.88.

    1. It affects 4090 too, i would got a 5090 is it haven't had the flawed connector design the 4090 have, the added power draw of the 5090 that makes it melt/firehazard even more likely to happen. Silly that when my 3090 had 2×3 power-balanced draw the 40 and 50 series don't due to nvidia greed! They don't improve…. they devolution to add even more to the investors dividends… IE less of less money of what you pay go to what you paid for!

      1. Unfortunately later down the line it still artifacts here and there ingame so I suppose they still have to solve some things.

      2. The connector is NOT A FIRE HAZARD ….. It's flameproof plastic and thus cannot start a fire and won't catch fire even if you hit it with a blow torch. All it will do is melt and then turn crisp. How do I know that? well nearly 30 years as an EE designing commercial/industrial control systems and lots of things have to be certified flameproof for obvious reasons

Now the MOSFETs in the VRMs are a different story but that's a problem with every GPU made today

        1. Seen some freaky high temps on things like the leads due to the improper engineering – So it's not just the connector that gets really warm to the melting point. The leads etc as well and to my knowledge not all types and cable sleeving etc that some have are flame proof. Not to mention cheap psu's without proper oc protection…
