NVIDIA has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the green team, the NVIDIA GeForce 436.60 WHQL driver is optimized for Gears 5, Borderlands 3, The Surge 2, COD: MW Open Beta, FIFA 20, and Code Vein.
Furthermore, this driver adds support for six new G-SYNC compatible monitors. These monitors are: ACER VG252Q, ACER XV273 X, GIGABYTE AORUS FI27Q, GIGABYTE FI27Q-P, LG 27GL650, and LG 27GL63T.
It’s worth noting that this driver eliminates cases of stutter when Ultra low latency mode is active in Fortnite. It also resolves some flicker issues in World of Warcraft at the character-selection screen, and addresses some crashes during gameplay in Forza Motorsport 6/7.
Moreover, it fixes the blue-screen crash in Control DX12 when Ray Tracing is active on Pascal GPUs. As for Turing owners, it fixes a colored corruption issue on some surfaces in Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War 4 and Gears 5.
Lastly, the NVIDIA GeForce 436.30 WHQL driver resolves some flickering issues with YouTube fullscreen video playback on FireFox. These flickers could occur when hovering over the timeline on G-Sync monitors.

After NVIDIA’s past gimping shenanigans with old cards I’m reluctant to update drivers for my 970 unless I’m having a specific problem and nothing else works.
Many different media and even amateur websites test those claims every few years and each time they get to the same conclusions those claims are bullshit, maybe they abandon further optimization of older gen cards but there is no sabotaging of older cards going on.
Unless nvidia is bribing all of them and even some amateur independant websites and forum users,which is not plausible.
Then post some links, I’m googling “nvidia nerf” and all the results seem to be forums posts complaining about nerfing.
I don’t have an AMD card so I don’t care about that, if the nerfing claims are actually bullshit I want to know, but I’m not finding any sources.

It is BS, a few tech channels have tested this very theory and theres 0 evidence to back it up, in fact the opposite is actually true, newer drivers gave slight performance uplift

Because most often people point to kepler as a prove for nvidia to neglect their older card when in reality there is no amount of software optimization will be able to fix kepler performance when the issue is down to games did not like the way kepler being design. Turing is another major change for nvidia architecture. And we can see some games really like turing and there is others that like pascal more.

I haven’t download the latest driver yet but right now i’m using the second latest driver for my 970. I don’t see any issue.
Did you bench it? There are benches of every single driver in the /r. The results are mostly clear, however hw configs do differ, that is a fact.
Sometimes there are regression but most often they were fixed with the next batch of drivers. We saw a lot of test for this kind of claim but most often they come to same conclusion: there is no artifical gimping happen at all. If older hardware are not being optimize that is normal for any other IHV out there. Take this as an example: when forza horizon 3 first comes some people take this will be another tittle where AMD will destroy nvidia completely due to DX12. but what happen was cards like GTX970 having more stable and higher frame rates than R9 390 (non X).

Linus did a video about this topic in the video titled “IS NVIDIA RUINING YOUR PERFORMANCE?” The end result is that NO they dont gimp your performance and thats backed up by raw data. He used the 680 up to the 1080ti so that will cover your generation of GPU. Even Linus said this conspiracy theory is nothing but fanboy garbage being recycled with no knowledge of the topic itself. In fact, over time, the performance slightly increases. Its an 8 minute video so I implore you to educate yourself.

The intent of both videos is to get to the truth with cold hard data, both do a good job of that, Linus does a way better job as he uses like 9 different GPUs and more drivers.
