NVIDIA DLSS 4 feature

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 is now available to all NVIDIA RTX owners

NVIDIA has just announced the latest version of its DLSS tech, DLSS 4.5, which is now available to all RTX owners. DLSS 4.5 comes with an improved version of DLSS Super Resolution, as well as enhanced Multi-Frame Gen for the RTX50 series GPUs. So, let’s take a closer look at it.

DLSS 4.5-1

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 features a 2nd generation Transformer Model. This new Transformer Model will have better temporal stability, it will reduce ghosting, and it will do a better job at smoothing edges. Naturally, this new Transformer Model is available for all RTX GPUs. Yes, even the RTX-20 series will be able to take advantage of it.

What’s also great here is that the 2nd-generation Transformer Model is available now via the NVIDIA App. NVIDIA owners can use the NVIDIA App to force the 2nd-generation Transformer Model on most games that already support DLSS. This is great news, as you won’t have to wait for devs to upgrade the DLSS version their games have launched with. Instead, you can benefit from the benefits of DLSS 4.5 right away.

DLSS 4.5 also introduces MFG X6 and Dynamic MFG. DLSS 4.5 Multi-Frame Gen X6 is self-explanatory. It’s a new mode to further increase the number of frames that can be generated by DLSS 4.5 Frame Gen. DLSS 4.5 also comes with a Dynamic Multi-Frame Gen setting. NVIDIA RTX50 owners can set their maximum framerate, and MFG will be using different modes to hit that target.

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Dynamic Multi-Frame Gen. This could introduce major input latency issues as a high framerate target could constantly force MFG to be between X4 and X6. As for MFG X6, I’ll have to see it in action. In a lot of games, input latency is not a big issue when you have a base framerate of 50FPS. But what about the visual artifacts? Because in some games, you can easily spot some visual glitches with MFG X4. So, will things look even worse with MFG X6? DLSS 4.5 MFG X6 and Dynamic MFG will be available in Spring 2026. These will be exclusive to the RTX50 series GPUs.

NVIDIA has also announced that 007 First Light will support NVIDIA DLSS 4 at launch. PRAGMATA, Resident Evil Requiem, and Phantom Blade Zero will also support it.

Finally, NVIDIA announced that its first G-Sync Pulsar PC monitors will be released on January 7th. At launch, we’ll get four G-Sync Pulsar monitors. These are the Acer Predator XB273U F5, AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2, ASUS ROG STRIX Pulsar XG27AQNGV, and MSI MPG 272QRF X36. All of them will be priced at $599, and they are 1440p 360hz monitors.

Before closing, NVIDIA did not reveal any new details about NVIDIA Reflex 2 or NVIDIA Frame Warp. Moreover, the green team has not announced any new GPU. So, no Super GPUs for any of you.
