NieR: Automata – FAR Mod 0.3.0.1 is now available, improves God Rays and Bloom effects

Modder Kaldaien has released a new version of his FAR mod for NieR: Automata. This new version features the God Rays and Bloom effects improvements that Durante has discovered, meaning that PC gamers can now enable higher quality effects in order to further improve the game’s visuals.

In addition, Kaldaien has revealed how PC gamers can run Reshade alongside his mod. All you have to do is follow this guide:

  • Uninstall both ReShade and FAR.
  • Install ReShade.
  • Navigate to the game folder and rename dxgi.dll and dxgi.ini to ReShade64.dll and ReShade64.ini
  • Install FAR.
  • Play the game and enjoy your FarShade.

Those interested can download this new version of the FAR mod from here.

It will be interesting to see whether PlatinumGames will implement these new features in the game’s upcoming official patch.

Have fun!

  1. This is pissing me off that somebody on his free time is doing the job of clueless developers. HOW DID THEY NOT DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

    GAWD DAYUM.

    1. Those versions don’t need saying they have occasional FPS dips as it is. It was the primary platform for development then ported to PC gimped.

  2. I read that this version only corrects the bloom not the god rays. Durante also said that he plans on fixing the AO making it higher resolution but it may take 2 weeks or more do to his schedule.

  3. This.

Way too much logic involved in such a decision for a video game developer, even one as revered as PlatinumGames.

    1. It’s funny how it’s meant to be their job, but too many fans are far too busy wearing rose tinted glasses and having love arrows stuck up their behind to notice that Platinum has been falling from Grace for some years now.

I like P*, but they really, really ened to get their act together.

      1. It’s like CDPR; Witcher is still the best of the 3, but the sequels are still good enough that the vast majority of people can’t see the post-OG decline (Witcher 2’s consolisation, for example, flies right over most people’s heads).

Platinum still makes good games to be fair, they’re just failing at the technical side of things, primarily, but yeah, it’s been almost 7 years, & they still aren’t anywhere near to toppling Vanquish, not with NieR, not with Scalebound, nothing, & that speaks volumes.
