Last month, we shared the first leaked details about Resident Evil 8. Resident Evil 8 will be a first-person horror game, and a continuation of Resident Evil 7. And yesterday, German gaming channel GAMEZ.de has shared some additional new info about it.
Now as with all the leaks and rumours, we suggest taking you are about to read with a grain of salt. Since the game is still in development, some thing may change. After all, we all know what happened with Resident Evil 4, right?
But anyway, according to the latest rumours, this new Resident Evil game may release in two years from now. Similarly to the previous leak, we don’t know whether the game will be called Resident Evil 8 or Resident Evil “something”.
The game will take place in Eastern Europe and will have a village and snowy landscape. It will also have a castle (that will be smaller than the one in Resident Evil 4). Furthermore, it will have a medieval setting and enemy designs.
This new information falls in line with what we’ve heard before about Resident Evil 8. However, and according to this new leak, the game will have wolf-like creatures and not actual werewolves. Not only that, but there will be one or more witches that will be hunting Ethan. Also, zombies will be wearing knight armor & wield swords.
Last but not least, this new Resident Evil game will be more action-heavy than 7. According to the leak, it will be closer to Not a Hero gameplay-wise.
Again, take everything you just read with a grain of salt as some things may change. After all, this Resident Evil game will not be coming out anytime soon.
Enjoy!

I was hoping for spaceships and stuff.
Disappointed!
?
what if it is set in the same universe as 70s GTA?
The sad thing is, that would probably still be better than Dead Space 3.
Have to agree!
total biscuit back then when he was alive was like “re6 awful but dead space 3 good” hahaha no even re6 was better than dead space 3, atleast it didnt have universal ammo and it had fictional combat that enemies werent bulletsponges with no stun function when shot.
Yea no.
Dead Space 3 still maintained all the core elements of the series and it did so without also turning the characters into overpowered invincible kung fu masters. Yes, the clear design priority of co op puzzles and action was stupid, but it didn’t stop it from being a Dead Space game.
Resident Evil 6 had no connections to Resident Evil, whatsoever, except “muh virus,”, Leon, Sherry, and Ada. None. Literally none.
In every single other possible way it was not a Resident Evil game. There was no puzzle solving, at all, except for Ada’s campaign, which wasn’t even playable until you beat the 3 campaigns and unlocked it (before the patch ruined that). QTE spamming some wheels and such to open a door is not a puzzle.
There’s no Metroidvania, whatsoever. There isn’t a single moment in the entire game where you step back over the same ground a second time unless you do it on purpose for no reason or you’re extremely bad at the graveyard level.
Any key you find to unlock a door is a one time affair – you don’t have to explore other areas to get it because it’s in that area.
There’s also no subtextual story or environmental storytelling to be found, either, two core elements of the franchise. Every single story development in RE6 is blatant exposition either in a cutscene, an in-game scene, in-game dialog, or a background event like the 17 exploding vehicles in the first 10 minutes of the game.
You also literally don’t even have an inventory in RE6, so there’s no inventory management. Every single item you pick up stays there until you use it, and the only time you can’t pick one up is if you already have max ammo for a weapon.
It was hands down the single worst Capcom produced game in the main series, without any question. Capcom blatantly had no idea what they were doing with this game – trying simultaneously to appeal to multiple different audiences with 4 different campaigns that all had different styles, but used some of the same objectively terrible elements i.e vehicle segments and invincible bosses that you fought over and over.
There are patreon porn RE parodies that are better RE games than RE6.
Stop trying to insert your non-opinion into discussions where it’s clear you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Now go ahead and leave some stupid response where you try to act intelligent, in broken English because it’s not your native language, per usual.
“There’s no Metroidvania, whatsoever. ”
1.neither did re4 or re5
2.neither did dead space 3, having a optional dungeon doesnt mean much.
“Any key you find to unlock a door is a one time affair – you don’t have to explore other areas to get it because it’s in that area.”
same with dead space 3 but sine we are going deep in that one, whats the point of survival horror when you got universal ammo and microtransactions to buy more ammo?

HAHAHAH look whos talking. Do you have sht in your brains moron? TB said that dead space 3 might not be like the old games but its a decent sci fi action game, while resident evil 6 which he did not play is a much better game, it is less repetitive and copy paste, it has better combat, more variety and does action combat better than dead space 3. This was the game that you cant enjoy if you are not into the series while dead space 3 is trash, the exact opposite of what he stated. This is what i said, but your stupid mug infested brain is incapable of understanding basic things due to your complete lack of comprehension skills and endless immature projection due to insecurity.
Freaking idiot.
Lol
godam it dude you made me laugh and its late at night where i am. Hope i didnt woke anyone up.
what the…what?!
its gonna be as cheap looking as RE7 , re-used assets with less variety and less replay-ability and you gonna see those wolf-like enemies 95% of the time , they are basically the new molded , its shocks me how overrated RE7 was and how critics gave a free pass to all the game flaws to reach high scores in metacritic , paid reviews riddled with fake hype .
My biggest issue with RE7 wasn’t even the lack of enemy variety as much as how linear it gets once you get out of the house.
It becomes a corridor at points and the farmhouse and the boat are extremely small sections, that only have soke shortcuts to pretend like it’s totally not a single path.
Did you actually play RE7?
If you’re calling that linear, then, the entire game is linear, as is RE1, 2, 3, CVX, 0, 4, 5, 6, Rev1, 2, and Remake 2.
Because there’s only one correct path that lets you actually advance the story, in any of the games.
Except the maps on those games were much bigger, said games let you spend more time on the first main map where you had to backtrack and there were many more shortcuts.
RE7 barely opens up the house and immediately ends the first map section to throw you to some extremely linear sections with the boat section not being much more than a circle in each of the floors.
Sorry but you’re wrong. The entire plantation is the “first main map”. That’s the first house, the actual main house, basement, garage, the swamp house, the building where you fight margherite, the boathouse, and literally everything up until you kill Jack and switch characters. The boat and caves and going back to the guest house from the beginning are the end of the game. It’s not any smaller than all of the real RE Games.
If you’re comparing RE4 – 6 to 7, you’re doing it wrong. Those are entirely linear games with no open areas where the amount of space is irrelevant.
The plantation is the intro, I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say here
The playable areas in 7 are much smaller than in the first 2 games/remakes, a good example is comparing the Remake of the second game and it’s three main areas: Police Station, Sewers, Laboratory which are much bigger than 7s House, Barn, and Boat.
I mean, the series has had motorcycle riding zombies armored, enemies before, and once tried to dable into supernatural teritory with one of the scrapped resi 4 projects, werewoles and witches are nothing.
yes but at least the concept of conscious zombies was handled tastefully and with a degree of subtlety in RE5. but werewolves :)).. that said, I think we need to reserve our judgement until we see some actual proof that the game as such exists
Basically any mythological creature = B.O.W in RE terms.
Maybe they revived the hookman version of RE4 and make it as a core of RE8 story’,since the protagonist is not RE series regular Hero..
Hope this “more action heavy” thing isn’t true..
“The game will take place in Eastern Europe and will have a village… (in) a medieval setting”
Polygon, Eurogamer, PC Gamer and Kotaku will expect that to be something like…

and there’ll be an evil white henchman.
Can you imagine if Code Veronica were remade today? They will probably remove the tranny/schizo stuff from the game.
yakuza had a trans character storyline and they removed it from the remake.
They did already A HD version on PS4 and XB1 (?)
Code Veronica is really bad, it the worse of the worse from RE games and god tier awful backtracking
Lol no. Unless you mean the worst of the real RE games, then yes, I agree it was the worst one. But the worst RE game is hands down RE6.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8MO7fkZc5o
Action heavy? Too bad. The Baker family part was quite good in RE7, the rest of the game not so much imho.
so that’s the bit that disappointed you? what about knight zombies with freaking swords? how the hell is that even possible/plausible?
Honestly if I had to choose between knight zombies and generic black goo zombies from RE7 I would definitely choose the knights. But tbh I only care for RE3R.
they were designed with VR in mind, and IMO it served the purpose well, but I agree
they need slower enemies for VR, so, so far its the only plausible explanation for ‘knights with armour’

Did you ever play RE 7 in VR? I have never played it in VR.
Nope.
Nobody has because it’s only on trash PSVR.
Weren’t there living armors in RE4? I vaguely recall something like that.
I remember farmers with pitchforks and torches, a monster, a lake, a lake monster, a dog, a wicked boss battle in a barn, an RPG, a knife fight, Mr. Spikes in the lab, aaaand , the credits
Those were mechanical traps if I am not mistaken.
No, I mean there were knight armors that you had to shoot in the back or something, wasn’t there something like that?
You probably thinking of the Garradors, where you had to shoot the parasite on their back.
Nope, I found it, they were called Armaduras (just Spanish for “armor”):
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/519aa2a25499183c01ee1edf1c5bfaad0e45f3983e010bba71dafe0b999c42aa.jpg
I knew I wasn’t crazy.
you aren’t. that, however, is !
…WHAT?
It’s a plagas parasite that took over an armor, because I guess sometimes plagas don’t need biological hosts, also they somehow learned how to swordfight. Maybe they found a tapestry depicting medieval combat inside the armor and they look at it when they’re bored.
A lot of people don’t remember just how delightfully stupid RE4 truly was.
I never liked 4. All the people who did not like the first ones seem to revere Resident Evil 4. People like me(who liked the originals) seem to feel it was a misstep in the franchise that lead to more missteps with 5 and 6.
“All the people who did not like the first ones seem to revere Resident Evil 4.”
I don’t think it works like that, i for one like the originals and RE4
Yea but you probably think RE4 is better.
I like a truckload of RE games, but i’ll probably pick gamecube REmake as the favorite.
Because noobs who are terrible at life and couldn’t beat real RE games disguise their failures as “I didn’t like the camera angles/bad controls. RE4 is amazing.”
And this is why the RE franchise has been completely screwed since RE4. On one hand, it’s true that they couldn’t keep spitting out true RE games, people would eventually stop buying them. On the other hand, RE4 ruined the franchise and it hasn’t recovered. RE4 was an incredibly good game at the time but as you start to examine it, it becomes more obvious what garbage it is.
RE4 was my favorite game at the time but every time I replay it and look back at it, it’s just not good. After the first couple chapters, the enemies all start dropping ammo at a ridiculous rate. The gun upgrades make it so easy to demolish everything, and, it still has bad controls, stupid QTE combat, even stupder QTE sequences, bad camera, a really stupid story that has almost nothing to do with RE except having 3 characters from RE, and the list goes on.
Really the best part of the game was Mercenaries.
Is this on the wiki? Why woudn’t some of the Ganados just wear an armor?
Ganados weren’t allowed in the castle unless they were part of Los Illuminados, I think. Which means they were too special for armor because they had better things to do like stand still, rocking back and forth, side to side, chanting “Cogedlo cogedlo cogedlo, cogedlo cogedlo cogedlo”. Or carrying morningstars and wooden tower shields. lol.
But the ganados that says those things are the ones in the castle.
You are more or less mistaken. They might be mechanical traps when controlling Ashley, but you fight 4 or 6 of them for real with Leon, and it was quite tense.
Living armors? no. Zombies ganados wearing armor in RE4 castle area? yes. These leaks sounds quite like a RE4 remake.
No. There were literally animated suits of armor in RE4. They weren’t ganados. They were suits of armor that had Plaga in them which brought htem to life. Because Japan.
IKR, just black goo monsters, probably the most boring enemy design in RE and they’re pretty much the entire game outside of bosses.
plus those licker-like creatures
Did you like the tape elements that taught you how to solve puzzles?
I guess that’s where I get off the Resi train….again.
You know what i want? Nonlinear areas and puzzles thats what i want.
who the f is Ethan ?
first person ?
i thought 7 was a bad joke
First person od 3rd person view??
I have RE 4 (3.5) Hook Man flashbacks 😀
Sounds like absolute garbage, as expected.
