A few hours ago, we informed you about a new patch for Lies of P. Well, along with some free content for the game, it appears that the developers have also removed Denuvo by accident. Or at least that’s my assumption.
The game’s Steam store page still lists Denuvo. However, we can confirm that the latest update does not have it. The developers haven’t replaced this version yet. They might have removed Denuvo officially, or they could release an update to bring it back.
Since the game has already been cracked, I don’t see a reason to restore Denuvo. Pirates are already playing it as we speak. So, NEOWIZ would only hurt the legitimate owners of Lies of P. And I get it. Denuvo would protect the game’s upcoming DLC. Still, it would suck.
As I wrote in my PC Performance Analysis, Lies of P runs really smoothly on PC. And that was with Denuvo. And although it’s powered by Unreal Engine 4, it still had excellent frametimes and hardly any stutters. So, if NEOWIZ puts Denuvo back, the game should still run well on PCs.
Speaking of Denuvo, here are some other games that no longer have it. Bethesda has removed it from Wolfenstein Youngblood and Doom Eternal. Also, Mortal Kombat 11 does not have it anymore. Then we have Bandai Namco who has removed it from Tekken 7 and NARUTO TO BORUTO: SHINOBI STRIKER.
Capcom also took out Denuvo from some of their older games. Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Devil May Cry 5 and Monster Hunter World do not have it anymore.
Finally, Square Enix took Denuvo out of games like The Diofield Chronicle, VALKYRIE ELYSIUM, and TRIANGLE STRATEGY. Plus, both Octopath Traveler and its sequel no longer have it. Oh, and let’s not forget Forspoken and LIVE A LIVE.

“They might have removed Denuvo officially,” exactly, so why is the headline, “NEOWIZ has accidentally removed Denuvo from Lies of P”?
Because there is no official word, and it appears to be by accident. This has happened in a lot of games (with publishers restoring Denuvo later on).
I wonder if they removed it by mistake and the game starts getting pirated, why would they later on restore it? Is it not too late or something i wonder? Cus Denuvo cost money, so it seems a bit pointless to even bother.
Updates and DLCs.
Still doesn’t justify presenting it as a fact. “Neowiz MIGHT have accidentally removed Denuvo from Lies of P” would’ve been an accurate, non-clickbait headline.
So we don’t know if that’s by accident either. Either way, those statements are contradicting each other.

Happened with a lot of games actually, id screwed up similarly with Doom Eternal as well.
I love seeing it happen still. Not because of piracy, I mostly get legit games copies for free anyway, but because I hate POS Denuvo and their practices with a passion.

Not the biggest fan of Denuvo but the integration on Lies of P had to have been one of the best. Game ran swimmingly on all my hardware and didnt even know it was there unless I was told. Game is definitley worth the price and while the price can be a barrier, I hope it does become “available” for people who wouldnt have been able to purchase it otherwise so that they could experience it.
denuvo doesn’t matter. what matters is making a good optimized game. I was getting a constant 60 fps in this game, and the game maybe only crashed 4 times in a 60 hour playthrough.
Very true, it was probably the most optimized game I played last year. It took you 60 hours for a playthrough?
yeah, I would alt tab here, and there to watch tv shows. it was probably closer to 40 hours.

goes without saying that i dont care about souls like games but htis looks like the best one. Isnt it weird that denuvo gets accidentally removed by a bunch of games, like there is some kind of bureaucratic process to get it in games and update it, remember when the address they used expired and no one could play denuvo games so a bunch of companies removed it. What happens in 20 years that a studio who made a denuvo game has gone bankrupt and they dont update the game and no one can play it?
the game using denuvo will be charged as long as they use it as far as I know, I dont think denuvo will be forever use in a game , they will be removed some day by the publisher due to that recurring subscripton charge in their ledger

This was never cracked btw but they do already have this leaked version avail, no interest myself but it’s there now. I don’t think this was an accident btw likely a marketing move, many people will try it now and then later convert to sales, the devs lose nothing by this if someone isn’t going to buy it in the first place. Single modders who make frameworks get donation money in the thousands easily, like CET or Rampage trainer for rdr2, if just 0.5% give 1$ and who gives less than whole numbers electronically? it’s in the thousands and updates every time the game does for 3+ years, yup. Donation base couldn’t pay for a game but online free games make plenty of money so the model of 70-100$ games isn’t going to fly in a saturated market too long. Most younger people like teens and below play free phone games with some in game purchases, handhelds.
