NEOWIZ adds Denuvo to Lies of P three days before release

Lies of P is one of the most anticipated Souls-like games of 2023. The game releases on September 18th and it appears that NEOWIZ has listed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech on its Steam store page, three days before release.

As we can clearly see in the game’s SteamDB history, NEOWIZ added Denuvo to its page earlier today. Lies of P has been available for pre-order for a while, meaning that NEOWIZ has deceived its fans by not including it from the get-go.

For what it’s worth, the review code we’ve received for Lies of P is also protected by Denuvo. The executable file is around 500MB in size, which is a clear indicator of Denuvo’s presence. This means that our upcoming benchmarks will reflect what you’ll be getting on launch day.

We’ve seen lately a lot of new/upcoming PC releases that use Denuvo. Among them are Mortal Kombat 1, EA’s WRC and eFootball 2024. And yes, the upcoming EA Sports FC 24 will be also using Denuvo.

Lastly, our PC Performance Analysis for Lies of P will go live later this weekend. You can also find here a video that showcases it running in native 8K on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

Lies of P is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and appears to be running smoothly on a wide range of PC configurations. The game does not suffer from any shader compilation stutters, though we did experience a few traversal stutters.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. after everyone preoredered it and experienced the performance of the demo without denuvo, this is bait and switch, they shouild’ve been upfront with implementing denuvo before allowing pre orders

  2. I’m so sick of this industry and it’s active hate towards it’s own audience.

But I also can’t blame them for taking advantage of braindead consoomers either…

  3. looks like the studio is worried the game wont sell. that’s the only reason smaller and mid-tier studios go denuvo. besides astronomical levels of greed of course

  5. Looks pretty forgettable anyways and a dev that does that is pretty bad which is a distinction among the rotten gallery of devs today. But fools still do preorder like salivating dogs wanting their next shock, at least they can still cancel afaik, if they’re paying attention but I guess preorder-ers seem to not be too sharp in the first place. None of the games w denuvo listed above look too good either. Sooo many games now easy to just skip it.

    1. getting paid for hard work = greed? protecting your sales = greed? you people are retarded. And i bet you would do the same in their place.

        1. There’s PC gamers, and there’s retärded console peasants that try PC here and there.
          You, sir, are the late.
If a dev makes a total unoptimised Tetris and ask for a RTX4090 to run it, you’d buy cause you have no idea what you’re doing.
Go back to your Peasant System and leave PC for those with a brain.

      1. It’s been my experience that most of the people that complain about Intellectual Property Protection have no Intellectual Property themselves and likely never will …..

If you don’t protect your Intellectual Property the Chinese and Russian governments will just steal it for themselves ….. To protect my Intellectual Property I hired a software engineer that had 12 years in Army Intel and spent 8 of those years in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the Middle East tracking terrorists and infiltrating their communications and computers. It’s why the building control systems I design have never been successfully breached.

  7. VG247 gave it a 4/10:

Much of the game’s level design lacks inspiration.

Its atmosphere is a hodgepodge of themes and aesthetics you’ve seen before that never rises above the familiar.

The core combat just isn’t good enough, nor the encounter design interesting enough.

I was never impressed by it, and I never stopped questioning the point of the entire endeavour throughout my time with it.

  8. Oh boy, Denuvo. Well, I better run out and pre-order this garbage right this moment.

I mean, clearly, it’s so sought after, that everyone and their mother must be wanting to download a cracked version for free. Right? Right………….?

Thank god for Denuvo, to protect cheap trash games from the army of nobody that wants to get a free copy.

Way to protect those phantom sales, Denuvo. 🤘

    1. what are you on about? Its been proven multiple times Denuvo boosts sales, thats why its used. If it didn’t matter no one would waste money on it. Hate it all you want and rightfully so as any DRM affecting performance has no place in gaming but it gets its job done. Only first month sales matter and denuvo is designed to do just that, protect first few weeks of sales.

      1. Except for many games have it years later, see RDR2, AC origins/odyssey, far cry etc so not always the case. jubisoft and justar no surprises though. But yeah just the name gives you what it’s for De-OF Nuvo-NEW so sure 6 months fine but after that it’s kinda pointless. The devs have to pay for it as well so the cost vs benefit ratio goes way down as time goes by. Of course the paying customers are at the bottom of the priorities list w these scum. Digital rentware is almost as perfect as alcohol with no sell by date for freshness, same copyright scam the tribester mafia slumlords have going.

  9. butthurt baby with skill issues. Yes go play some easy casual games. I recommend candy crush, seems like something you may like.

  10. At this point they’re selling DENUVO for the retärded, not the game. In this specific case must be really just the DENUVO since the game have no appeal at all.
