Now here is something really interesting. Naughty Dog is currently hiring a Graphics Programmer for The Last of Us 2. The candidate must have experience with DirectX 12, Vulkan or other modern graphics or compute APIs. Not only that, but he/she must have thorough understanding of both AMD GCN and NVIDIA CUDA architectures.
Now we all know that the current-gen and next-gen consoles are using AMD’s graphics cards. As such, these requirements may hint at a PC version of The Last of Us 2.
Earlier this month, we informed you about Horizon Zero Dawn coming to the PC. Moreover, and according to Eurogamer’s Tim Phillips, Dreams will be another Playstation 4-exclusive game that will release on the PC. And, if this job listing is anything to go by, The Last of Us II may also find its way on our platform.
My guess is that Sony will reveal more about its PC plans in February, during its PS5 reveal event. It sounds ironic, but PC gamers may have something interesting to look forward to. Again, we are merely guessing here.
Last but not least, I don’t expect the first party PS5 games to come out on the PC at the same time. My guess is that we will see some of the PS5-exclusive games appearing on the PC at a later date. Nevertheless, it appears that Sony is serious about bringing its catalogue on our platform.

It is entirely likely that they’re simply going to license their game engine out to people who want to use it on PC.
But, I would love to see Sony’s gems land on PC.
Their engine would need to have a sh*t ton of tools to not to look be lame when compared to unreal engine.
Or just a few tools that work really well. It doesn’t have to be as diverse if it suits the needs of a particular game.
Lol UE4 is not that great. It’s good but I’m sure plenty of people would love to use Naughty Dog’s engine. It’s got some of the best solutions for common rendering problems I’ve ever seen.
a big budget UE4 game would match a Naughty Dog game in terms of visuals i think, don’t forget that Sony spend a sh*tload of money on exclusives, especially on graphics, it’s the best way to sell a game easily, this and some paid reviewers of course

I don’t think they need DX12/Vulkan programming for streaming, also PS5 will have an AMD chip likely, and they’re hiring experienced programmers for both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs, if Horizon is likely coming to PC (and some other games too) i think there’s a possibility to get some ports, not to forget Epic’s money that no one can resist apparently

I don’t think so but it’s possible, Game Engines market is over dominated by UE4 and Unity, that are well known, polyvalent and got the tools for everything that exists in the VG industry, and most of AAA devs use in house engines, i also think that Sony is not really open to share their tech, as it’s one of their special perks, i think making PC ports for their exclusives games is more likely, with Steam and it huge user base, and Epic with their tons of money, the PC market became very lucrative, they didn’t manage to attract PC players to their consoles as much as they attracted Xbox players, maybe going to their turf instead of making them come will be a more efficient solution, MS did the same thing after all and some of their games sold very well (Forza, Gears 5, Halo Reach), not to forget that the rumors about Horizon are pretty solid, so why not.

The rumour mill is that a cross platform multi-player game is in the works set in the games universe and it will ship on PS4, PS5 and PC, it will be seperate from the single player game which will not be ported to PC.
If the PS5 is as unpowered as the rumors suggest, PC ports of Sony exclusives are a very brilliant and lucrative idea.

From my point of view as a programmer, why naughty dog did that ? because they need someone that have experience in those things first, so they will have the ability to learn PlayStation 4 or 5 API. Because not everyone have access to learn console API, only people that sony allowed to have console devkit.

For all you people getting excited for sony games coming to PC. If i were you i’d taper back that excitement. Because here comes the Sony Exclusive store launch App. The future for PC doesn’t look too good. We will be plagued with launchers after launchers and DRM’s after DRMs. If you think SOny is gonna have anyone else profit off of their IP’s think again and that is VERY understandable. But I’m not looking forward to 50 different launchers and stores. And for those of you thinking competition is good, sure. But we’ve had tons of launchers and No competition. BUt like always, people will get excited for things they can’t have, right before they get it. Dumpster class is an understatement. I own a PS4 and i’ve yet to finish one PS4 exclusive or 1 game on that system. I don’t know what i was thinking buying a PS4, Spider-man is what lead me there then i got there and only played 15% of the game. Same for God Of War 4, that game was a terrible God of War game. Console games have no soul, cause they lack customization and that god awful controller that is slow to turn. But that’s besides the point and a story for another day.
Games like Horizon & Days Gone are nothing new to the PC world but they would’ve been better if they were released on PC because of KB+M controllability. Thanks for seeing reason, because most won’t. The only launcher I give a rats buttocks about is GoG Galaxy, because it’s not a requirement and it’s just a Download manager. Anything i can’t run my games without, i have a severe problem with. I’m not about to elect another warden (launcher) to my prison (DRM).

I honestly think if it weren’t for Epic Games none of these games would be coming to the PC. At least not this soon. With all the money Valve has they could have easily made these sorts of negotiations with the big corporations long ago but they just kept focusing on how to make more money by doing less.
Either way it’s all good news seeing how its gotten Valve to change their ways. Hopefully this will lead to less console exclusives in the next gen systems but I’m not holding my breath.
