NACON has announced GreedFall 2, coming to PC in 2024

NACON and the development studio Spiders announced today the sequel to GreedFall, which surpassed 2 million sold copies, GreedFall 2. According to NACON, GreedFall 2 will be coming to PC in 2024.

GreedFall 2 is an RPG that focuses on story and player choice but also includes new gameplay. As such, players can expect more tactical combat. Additionally, players will revisit the unique universe created by its predecessor.

As the press release reads:

“The story starts three years before the events of the first game and the adventures of De Sardet. This time you play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted by force from your island and taken to the continent of Gacane, where the colonists are from. In this old world ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor plague and the political scheming of the different factions, you must regain your freedom and control of your own destiny. Using diplomacy, cunning or combat, as well as help from allies you make, it’s up to you to end one man’s ambitions of conquest, which could spell the end for the continent and your island.”

Alain Falc, CEO of NACON, said:

“We are very excited to reveal GreedFall 2 to everyone, the new game from Spiders. Many fans across the world were begging for this sequel, and we are delighted to be publishing this new game that these fans are sure to love. We also hope it will appeal to new players and all fans of role-playing games, great stories, action and fantasy.”

Jehanne Rousseau, Founder and Director of Spiders, also added:

“While we were working on Steelrising, our love of the GreedFall universe never faded, and so we are thrilled to be returning to it. In this new chapter, players will explore the old continent with its bigger and more diverse environments. They will meet new companions and new factions, and I hope they will have unforgettable adventures.”

  1. For some reason, I dig for low-budget janky RPGs. You know, types of games that has Mixed reviews on Steam, made by Russians or Europeans.
God bless Spiders and Piranha Bytes for continuing this niche genre. Screw modern day AAA titles, janky games are the future, especially when it’s RPG.

      1. There’s that one Brazilian horror game called FOBIA that’s releasing in a little over a month. John made a report on it back in December. Looks pretty good, the demo has been out for a while. The next instalment in the Zeno Clash series is coming soon. That’s made in Chile.

And a personal interest of mine is a game from Cameroon called Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan which came out in 2016. It’s a 2D story-driven fighting game but was still a pretty big deal for gaming in Africa at the time. Unfortunately the business there still hasn’t picked up with the exception of Free Lives in SA.

        1. about that game FOBIA there is a demo , its interesting , but i don’t think it will be a standout from the literal **thousands** of trash horror games available , its like everyday a new survival horror games of escape, hide, investigate , for me games about sneak and hide are not the best , i really dont like to hide wait…and procede

          1. True. It’s difficult for the majority of games to provide enough incentive for the user to try it out. Especially when these games are heavily influenced from other materials that aren’t too special to begin with. But these are games that are coming regions where the industry isn’t even present. So you really can’t expect too much from them.

We can only expect more innovative ideas to spark from these countries if more publishers actively try to seek these talents and help to invest their projects. Or unless their own governments decide to do it themselves kinda like how CD Projekt Red got some assistance from their own civil servants when making TW3 or Cyberpunk 2077.

    1. As much as I agree with you on that I still miss being able to experience brand new high quality AAA games that were made purely from passion. Even if the games never turned out to be perfect. I miss the hype that comes from it and the overall culture which had so much positive vibes. There was nothing quite like waiting anxiously for the next big thing, not knowing what to expect.

I’m still a firm believer that a new wave of alternative media will come about eventually for this industry. An industry which openly accepts freedom of speech and allows artists to express their themselves as freely as possible is inevitable but it may take a while to form. I just hope that companies like THQ Nordic will grow in that respect. Otherwise we’d have to rely heavily on some rich billionaire or some major company that has those fundamental values in their policies to push for this new wave/era of gaming.

    2. What was the verdict on Elex 2? It came out and I saw nobody talking about it. Probably got lost in all of the Elden Ring hype.

      1. I’m currently playing it and so far it’s good, played about 10 hours and so far it feels like a solid sequel. Everything is still janky but also they been slightly, just slightly got better and improved. Just don’t expect anything revolutionary, it feels like basically a continual chapter of the first title. Can’t tell about story because I’m still in the early in the game but if you loved Clerics from the first Elex you’ll be disappointed, they are almost non-existence and the smallest of all factions.
My verdict is if you loved the first one there’s high chance you might like it.

        1. Spiders games are anything but unique. They make bad/mediocre games based on whatever the trend is at the time (their only mediocre game is greedfall). Are you one of the devs?

          1. I’ve been here longer than that, and I’ve never seen you here. It’s just a weird article to drop in and comment.
