Main wishes… LESS BLOAT and more performance. Would not be surprised if we see the direct opposite
Works better than Win10 for sure.
I don’t use benchmarks, I use my own experience. Maybe I wasn’t lucky with Win10 but I ain’t gonna install every single Win10 version (12 of them or so LOL) to choose the best. The best I had (Win10 2004) still falls behind 11 beta.
Your own experience means sh*t to everyone here, benchmarks are coming and it will show 11 getting eaten alive compared to 10 which in itself is slower then 7 which 7 is slower than XP.
Just keeps getting worse and worse Microsoft doesn’t have the brains to realize that some people just want a lightweight OS that doesn’t spy to anyone or waste CPU cycles doing retarded things people don’t want it to do in the first place.
Question does 11 let you finally control your own effing PC and turn off defender or Windows update? NOPE but you will love it anyways.
Keeping 10 until 2025 and hoping to GOD that valve can continue to improve gaming on Linux. Then i will be getting off Windows for good.
Trash OS, man i miss 7
***benchmarks are coming***
Benchmarks mean s**t to everyone. We’re on PC, not cocksoles. We each have different configs. You can’t get one definitive result for everyone.
***11 getting eaten alive compared to 10***
Staged bulls**t by hypocritical hysterical Win10 fanboys, suddenly concerned about “privacy” but keep using WaaS Win10 and sh**ting on Win7 for not having SECURITY UPDATES.
***Question does 11 let you finally control your own effing PC and turn off defender or Windows update? NOPE but you will love it anyways.***
I use ShutUp10 and similar. Just like on Win10 which doesn’t let either.
***Trash OS, man i miss 7***
What’s stopping you from using it now?
They do NOT mean sh*t to everyone are you in some cave? Lol for real all PC gamers typically watch at least one tech channel and most probably do more.
Personal experience is a logical fallacy but reading your comments means nothing in terms of logic
So those who don’t watch some random dudes doing tests, are not PC gamers? LMAO
***Personal experience is a logical fallacy***
Ye don’t trust yourself, don’t try yourself. Just watch some youtube and believe them goy.
***reading your comments means nothing in terms of logic***
“I miss Win7 but I ain’t installing it”
“I hate Win11 because of security and spying flaws and performance problems but I keep using Win10”
You the one without any logic.
***1809***
Please, don’t swear here. I still have nightmares from that OS. Was the reason I almost ditched Win10 for good.
Still need to buy a new CPU to install a OS? or they “fixed” that part already?
It depends on the CPU you have, man…
fixed, unless you have some usless crap like coreduo or earliest versions of i series.
You can bypass.
It is no way fixed and articles by Ars Technica say that per MS, performance can be as much as 40 percent slower depending on app and also lack stability. If you do not have the newest TPM 2.0 built into the CPU, you WILL lose performance and stability in the future and should in no way install this OS, just because you can bypass verification. that is used to cover MS from class action lawsuits due to poor performance and stability.
If you are on the newest CPU, you have to realize you just signed up for constant ARTIFICAL CPU upgrades based on TPM version and fake security that is really about locking down your OS to be like a console. Game journalism will not tell you this due to the game devs thinking it can end piracy. Tech journalism will not tell you because this means more CPU, MB upgrades as die shrinks and performance gains get harder and harder..
PR bulls**t and you believed it. Win11 in beta phase is more stable and working better than Win10 ever did.
If your crusty a*s is on anything less than 8th gen Intel or Zen+ you deserve les performance. No reason not to have at least that and you have no business pc gaming if you cannot afford.
That’s pretty soon. I was expecting them to release Windows 10 21H2 first.
21H2 and W11 will be released at the same time, more or less.
the new UI reminds me of MAC OS. it’s better than Windows 8 and 8.1, but still…
So Windows 12 comming in April 2022.
More spyware and loss of control in the name of security and inclusivity.
Maybe SteamOS 3 can help motivate PC gamers to get away from windows.
Hopefully SteamOS can become full OS where I can install Office etc.
Why would anyone use MS Office when you have free alternatives like Libre Office.
Because G Docs suite is even better, but even worse spyware.
Why would anyone use G Docs when you have notepad, or vim ?
Easy cross sharing with the team.
Online is s**t. Offline FTW.
1. But where did I say anything about MS Office in my comment?
2. What’s wrong with MS Office?
SteamOS 3 won’t do jack sh*t to Windows marketshare. And for good reasons.
The only reason Windows still enjoy the market share they have, is because they hold our gaming libraries hostage.
Developers develop for Windows for a reason. Supporting Linux from a game development perspective is a nightmare. Linux does not having an established gaming ecosystem like Windows does. The fact that Linux has a f*ckton of low-quality distributions doesn’t help either.
Ammm… NO! I’m not jumping out of the frying pan into the FIRE OF MORE FUQING DRM!!!
The moment, and I mean the NANOSECOND, STEAM OS can support my game library the same way Windows 7 can, I am switching over and never look back. Provided Valve does not try to slip any spyware tricks as well.
Every damn Win10 version is worse than beta Win11 so it’s worth installing for those who want new games.
FLOP until 2023!
They will re-release on 2021 december
The new design and sounds are modern, fresh, clean and beautiful, bringing you a sense of calm and ease ……… sooo less controll over our PCs and it will look and feel like a apple ipad …….. gg
I’m still rocking with a pirated Win 7. I do have the option to boot to Win 10 if the need arises (exclusive games and such), but i don’t use it because that crap literally bricks my internet.
After sticking to Win7 for the longest time, I ended up upgrading to Windows 10 to play Death Stranding. This has been the biggest mistake in my life and I regret it to this day.
Go back to 7 then and dual boot.
Because of the game or the OS? It’s better to have more than one OS because of crap like this.
This is an IQ test for PC Gamers. If you adopt TPM 2.0 you failed and deserve the locked down, console like, forced upgrade every 2 year OS you will get.
Any media not telling you what TPM 2.0 really does or that sells LIES about how older hardware can be on Win 11 or without TPM? Should simply no longer get traffic. MS themselves has admitted to sites like Ars Technica that performance can be as much as 40 percent lower on anything outside the newest CPU and also have crash rates nearing 50 percent. Just because you can install the OS in no way makes it stable or fast. Even on the latest hardware people are losing hundreds of FPS on CS GO.
We also have MS telling us that older CPU’s will not get updates and performance being tied to TPM and “security” (really just a hijacked OS you will never get back). We would have artificial hardware upgrades based on TPM optimizations or fixes as that hardware like Denuvo is cracked. This is collusion with the CPU makers and a monopoly that should be fined worldwide by governments and that should result in class action lawsuits. The reason it’s not being fined by governments should be apparent. MS has government contracts and joined things like the PRISM program early. TPM 2.0 allows what can and can’t run on your OS and MS can hand the keys off to governments who can shadowban you or silence you on a hardware level.
This is simply the time to dual boot Linux and secure the future of PC Gaming. Proton hack has FSR on every Vulkan API game and games like RDR2 run better in Linux than Windows. Every single person who adopts TPM 2.0 is killing PC Gaming. They should be laughed at, ostracized and spit on. MS astroturfing should be called out, reported to the FTC and brigaded off forums, like they try to do to you. You have the power. Not influencers, corrupt journalism and MS. Tell them you will no longer support them if they use Windows 11.
Never mistake MS astroturfing for real people. People called this out when they TRIED to make TPM 2.0 required for Windows 8. This is not something new. This is something they have been trying to sneak in for awhile. With Windows 8, entire countries called out their BS. Counties like Germany blasted TPM 2.0.
Now? Many of those ethical security people have been replaced. So MS is trying again. The customer won last time and they can win this time.
Oh boy, wait till you learn about comment bot farms which can flood any video with any needed type of comments in a matter of hours.
Youtube search “buy youtube likes”. 5000 likes for 180 bucks from a bot farm in the top results. Comments cost more.
Social media is simply an illusion at this point. Most comments are astroturfing on the larger sites/forums. If you go to the Star Wars reddit they all love The Last Jedi. If you go to the Star Trek reddit they all love Star Trek Discovery. In reality the movie after TLJ (Solo) lost hundreds of millions of dollars and STD is the lowest viewed show on CBS Access. The media even sold lies about Russian bots with The Last Jedi. Rotten tomatoes dismissed those claims and user score went DOWN, showing score manipulation definitely happened, but it was from Disney.
Real people are asking their tech savvy friends if they should update to Win 11. They aren’t watching a stupid MS video on youtube with relatively REALLY low view count. Influencers and shill sites don’t control sh@%. You do. 10 of you get more people not to upgrade to Windows 11 than PC Gamer and IGN gets to upgrade.
Interesting when you look at these downvotes profiles. Their posts are almost all political, meant to divide.
https://disqus.com/by/heatlesssun/
Divide and conquer.
But same people accepted Windows 10 and started sh**ting on Win 7.
Nice one
WIndows 11, a leaner OS that requires 3 times more disk space but “weights” the same as window 10.
Indeed an IQ test for the gaymers and the pCMasTerRAce
No it doesn’t.
Lmao. You need TPM 2.0 because they contain modern instructions that don’t run fast on older TPM chips (i.e. CPU’s that don’t support TPM 2.0). These instructions are used in Microsoft’s Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity security feature. It’s still possible to run this on a CPU that doesn’t have native support for the instructions, but it will be very slow.
TPM 2.0 isn’t some conspiracy jesus. Nearly everything you said about cryptographic keys “being handed off to govts” in TPM 2.0 is flat out wrong. That’s not how a TPM chip works. At all.
Do some research and take off the tin-foil hat. And stop spewing nonsensical technical jargon as if you know what you’re talking about.
It’s depressing the kind of incorrect bs that gets spread on this site.
You do not need TPM at all, It’s a farce and it was always about piracy and hijacking user control, which people like the ATARI founder Nolan Bushnell admitted in 2008 to gameindustry biz.
“There is a stealth encryption chip called a TPM that is going on the motherboards of most of the computers that are coming out now,”
“What that says is that in the games business we will be able to encrypt with an absolutely verifiable private key in the encryption world…”
As far as TPM “security”. It was cracked in 30 minutes recently. Oh and yes performance is slower on older CPU’s. Now ask yourself what you just did by adopting TPM. You just signed up for an artificial upgrade path and forced upgrades based on TPM updates and not hardware updates. Your CPU performance will DEGRADE based on when TPM “security” is beat. This is illegal collusion with the CPU makers and there will be class action law suits, just like there was with Apple who slowed down older phones.
You also threw out charged language (tin foil hat) which is 100 percent astroturfing “Microsoft Evangelist” tactics that were laid out in the Comes Vs Microsoft court documents. You need MS to sign off on any software. If you think MS is going to allow mod software to run on say Starfield that doesn’t run on their Xbox? You are delusional. If you think they will allow injection which many mods use on games, you are delusional. You are the same type of imbecile that thought Steam cared about you, when they tried to charge you for mods.
The bitlocker is also not about security. It’s MS’s business strategy that was again exposed in the Comes Vs Microsoft court documents. EEE. Embrace, Extend, Extinguish. It’s about making a dual boot Linux pointless for the average consume as you can’t share files. People aren’t going to buy double the storage to game with and Windows 11 and the bitlocker will stop Linux adoption.
MS also has several government contracts and joined the PRISM program to help spy on US citizens and Germany called out TPM as a threat to national security. Now go throw charged language at their security people, so they can laugh in your face as well.
The reason MS doesn’t get fined for people who repeat their shill memos like you is because they scratch the same governments back who are supposed to fine them. When MS’s BS and ILLEGAL astroturfing get too blatant, then the government just fines the third party. See the FTC and Machinima with the Xbox. The FTC should have fined MS.
Anyways have a nice day in Redmond clown.
Holy hell, you are a complete an utter tin foil wearing idiot.
It’s amazing how the more you say, the less you get correct.
“based on TPM updates and not hardware updates”.
Thank you for once again demonstrating that you have absolutely zero clue what you’re talking about.
TPM IS hardware. CPU manufacturers build this into their chips with instruction support at the machine level. To call that collusion is idiotic, it’s the same as saying they are colluding with themselves.
Please stop, the rest of your comment is a completely irrelevant word salad.
Perhaps you would be more compelling, if you were to do some heavy editing of that comment. For the sake of clarity. It may or may not sacrifice brevity, but the only people you are winning over with that comment, are people who already agree with you.
For anyone reading that who doesn’t already posses the mountain of knowledge it would take to render your comment coherent, they are leaving with more questions than answers.
Every paragraph is rife with either vagueness or incoherence.
Iq test? Console like? How are either of those accurate?
“Forced upgrade”? Welcome to PC technology. That’s always the way it will be, and has to be, by default.
Do you still use an 8086 with DOS? No? Are you angry that you were “forced” to upgrade away from that?
“Any media not telling you what TPM 2.0 really does or that sells LIES about how older hardware can be on Win 11 or without TPM?”
What does “lies about how older hardware can be on Win 11 or w/o/ TPM mean?
It’s just not a coherent sentence.
Please don’t get mad, I am merely giving you my honest takeaway.
“MS themselves has admitted to sites like Ars Technica that performance can be as much as 40 percent lower on anything outside the newest CPU and also have crash rates nearing 50 percent.”
Perfomance on what, with what, in what context? Which Ars technica article is that from? How heavily are you oarapohrasing here?
“Even on the latest hardware people are losing hundreds of FPS on CS GO.”
Hundreds of FPS? Hundreds? On the “latest” hardware? Relative to what, or rather, in what context is this loss referring to?
Also, in that one paragraph, you point out the huge loss in performance ( again, on what with what, in what context ) of OLDER hardware and then also with NEWER hardware… In the same paragraph… using totally different metrics.. one a percentage… and the other FPS loss in a certain game….
I could go on, but this comment is already this long and I am barely 1/4 through your comment.
No, thank you. On second thought, forget “thank you”, simply NO.
lol you sound exactly like the ones praising w7 over w10 🙂 word for word haha. You people never learn.
They are really frustrated people in my opinion…
Oh, my Godfather! I feel so included in this new politically correct version of Windows! I hope it comes with a virtual Safe Space to protect me from all the horrible people whose opinions are different to those of the woke generation.
How did you reach this conclusion?
“Gaypass”. Champion level wit. You replaced letters so the word “gay” would appear, giving Microsoft the derision they deserve. True mastery of the language and of constructive ridicule, simultaneously. Congrats.
As only the British know how to do!
Bill Gates could never make his Windows virus-resistant – but he now pretends he can make the entire world virus-free.
Of course, he was always aiming at market-share over quality and customer satisfaction, so…
