4A Games and Deep Silver have officially announced Metro Redux. Metro Redux features fully re-mastered and improved versions of both METRO 2033 and METRO: LAST LIGHT, creating the most compelling Metro experience ever. This package is scheduled for a Summer release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and you can view its announcement trailer below!
[UPDATE]
Deep Silver issued a press release for Metro Redux, and you can read some additional interesting information below:
“For the REDUX edition, Metro 2033 has been completely overhauled:
-The original game has been rebuilt in the latest and greatest iteration of the 4A Engine, bringing all the graphical and gameplay improvements from Last Light to Metro 2033 Redux
-Enjoy completely re-mastered visuals: advanced lighting, dynamic weather, more detailed characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction and improved smoke, fire and particle effects
-Experience radically improved gameplay: advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling and more responsive, intuitive controls plus signature features from Last Light such as the atmospheric ‘mask wipe’ mechanic, weapon customization, and silent kills and takedownsMetro: Last Light Redux has also received a graphical facelift and gameplay improvements that carry across both titles, including new melee animations, and the fan-requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features. It also includes all previously released Season Pass add-on content – a further 10 hours of single-player gameplay.
Those who favoured the more survival horror oriented gameplay of Metro 2033 can play both campaigns in the ‘Survival’ Play Style, a fraught slow-burn fight for survival with limited resources, deadlier enemy AI, and slower reload speeds. Those who enjoyed the more action oriented gameplay of Metro: Last Light can try the ‘Spartan’ Play Style, providing Artyom with a powerful set of combat skills and more plentiful resources.
In addition, the legendary Ranger Mode returns to both games, providing the most immersive and challenging experience as the HUD is stripped away and hardcore rules apply.
Metro 2033 Redux & Metro: Last Light Redux will also be available separately as a digital download.”

hopefully this time with less lag 😉
Graphical enhancements aside (which are not needed in my opinion – it’s not like they’re facelifting Quake 1), they’re charging money for what should be released for free as a patch.
meh, its just a repackacing of the pc version for next gen consoles thats all.
But if you already own the games you don’t have access to the new ‘enhancements’, you have to buy them. Again.
yeah well i saw how those enchancements ended up on tomb raider, accordingto digital foundry despite all the improvements the pc version still looks better
Never played any of those tittle but really wanted to play.
So Gonna get both of the game 😀
You’ll enjoy them, they’re both great to play, especially at night. But for me, I can’t go back…I won’t go back.
50 bucks ?? What a rip off, stay away if you already have them.
$25 each game and 50% off if you already own the originals. I for one will glady pay $25 for the redux of both FANTASTIC gmaes
lol what a shill. pc gaming is now the same as consoles. dlc and “hd editions”
trailers says that each game is 19 euro so i dont see the problem with that.
Expect the same with GTA V & RDR .
Red Dead…damn, what a great game…still didnt play it only waiting PC get its hands on it!
This really should be a free update for owners of the Metro games!
I wish that happens!! But don´t think so sadly. We already own and played the games.
I bought the first Metro in a Steam sale, then pre-ordered Metro LL and bought all DLC´s for it. Really great game.
Good chance for those who never played them.
i still need to finish the first metro, i have about 30% left. The second one was great but i still think the first one is scarier
Sometimes just porting the game to a newer console and upping the resolution to the newer standard is considered “remastering”…. and so far this doesn’t look like they’ve touched the graphical assets.
Personally, the only thing about Metro Last Light that I thought could use some improvement is some of the female models particularly their hair.
SteamOS version of Metro LL will receive a big update and Metro 2033 will run natively! yahooooooooo!
I got Metro 2033 free with my videocard but never completed the game because it was poorly optimized even with SLI my fps would drop drastically on ultra settings. Never got Last Light because never finished the first game.
Redux has my interest as I heard 4A Engine runs a lot better, So I’ll mostly get these ones and finish them.
Lots of content for a low price, now thats great, i doubt consoles wil run em 1080p 60 fps though as the rumor says.
It has been confirmed to run at 1080p 60fps on the consoles.
its till not 100% clear i read something on gamespot, but then again we heard that about watchdogs and look how it runed out to be.
Lets wait a while i doubt its 1080p 60 fps unless they tone down settings or super duper optimize it.
