Metro Exodus is coming to Windows Store on June 9th

Now here is something really interesting. Microsoft has launched the Windows Store page for Metro Exodus, confirming that this previously exclusive to the Epic Games Store title will be coming to its store on June 9th.

We expect Microsoft to officially reveal the game’s launch during its E3 2019 press conference on the very same day. As such, the June 9th date makes perfect sense (otherwise it would be just a placeholder as June 9th is a Sunday).

What’s also really interesting here is that the game is still scheduled for a 2020 release on Steam. We don’t know the details behind Epic’s exclusivity and why the game is coming sooner on the Windows Store, however we are certain that this will frustrate a lot of PC gamers that want to play Metro Exodus on Steam. Unless of course the game hits both Steam and Windows Store at the same date (for now, the Steam page has not been updated with any new release date).

Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. This game is one of the few that takes advantage of real-time ray tracing and you can find our PC Performance Analysis article for it here.
