Metal Gear Solid V & Ground Zeroes Are Officially Coming To The PC

Aaaaaaaaaaaand we are late to the party. Yes yes, by now most of you already know that both Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes are coming to the PC. That’s official. No rumors, no hints. MGS V and Ground Zeroes are officially coming to Steam.

Konami did not reveal any further details about the PC versions or an estimated release date, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted about these highly anticipated games.

Metal Gear Solid V is a game that a lot of PC fans were looking forward to. Earlier this year, people got disappointed when they realized that the PC platform was absent from MGS V’s press announcements. However, deep inside us, we already knew that MGS V would be coming – sooner or later – to the PC.

Our guess – at this point – is that MGS V will come bundled with Ground Zeroes via a special Steam offer. Naturally, these two titles will be also offered separately. Ground Zeroes will release first and MGS V: The Phantom Pain will follow.

Enjoy!

  1. was waiting for this to be posted here as well. now i hope Kojima-san really does MGS Remake as well. also I hope this means Silent hillS is coming to PC too but i care more for MGS V so..

  2. CELEBRATION THREAD

GET IN HERE PC BROS. WE DID IT. PC WON THE GENERATION.

    ITS GOING TO KEEP HAPPENING

    [X] GTA V
    [X] MGS V
    [ ] DESTINY
    [ ] FINAL FANTASY XV

    1. Destiny has pretty much been all but confirmed from what I hear. FF though I dont know, they were touting about the engine with the aggis tech demo being run on pc when they first showed it so maybe, but after console release im betting.

    2. [ ] METAL GEAR SOLID: HD LEGACY COLLECTION

YES HIDEO KOJIMA, YES! KINDLY CONTINUE TO FEED THE BEAST AS WE BUILD YOU YOUR RIGHTFUL TEMPLE, O GOD OF ENTERTAINMENT!

      P.S. – Destiny? :I Meh. MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION! ;D

    3. [x] Tekken 7

      [ ] Dragon’s Dogma
      [ ] Red Dead Redemption

I really don’t care about Final Fantasy or that Halo clone.

        1. It’s using UE4 and multiple news sites have reported that Taka Kawasaki from Epic Japan has confirmed, in interviews following a press release, that it’s coming to PC alongside XBO and PS4.

          Pretty sure it’s for reals.

          1. I’ve seen those. But those were from poorly translated articles. Until I see some solid proof, or Harada himself saying its coming. I won’t believe it.

          2. i heard reports about PC being confirmed as well but yea i rather someone from the inside confirm it. hope they bring it to PC cause USF4 and New MK are all on PC too. although right now i prefer MK to all of them style-wise. gameplay-wise can’t comment i am not an expert on fighting games.

      1. i like to play Dragon’s Dogma and RDR on PC as well but i am not very optimistic. maybe L.A Noir did bad on PC so R* doesn’t bother with RDR? well worst case in a few years one can use emulator i guess?

        1. L.A. Noir wasn’t a smash hit overall, nothing relating specifically to the PC Platform. It was a good game, & they did a good Port, but it wasn’t anything “For the Ages.”

Far as Red Dead Redemption – at this point I think we can only hope for a New-Gen Console Port, & a possible PC Port from there, because to revisit the original Game just to bring it to PC at this point, so many years later, I doubt Rockstar could be arsed.

          1. yes it wasn’t. also RDR is not as famous as GTA which puts it in the same category as L.A Noir sorta imo (even though it’s more popular among pro gamers) not talking about quality here at all. which is why i said maybe L.A Noire was a test thingy for them but it’s just a guess i don’t know what’s going on at R*. not that i approve this way of thinking by R* if it is true though !

yea if they do a new-gen port PC port is very likely. but maybe just maybe if GTA V PC sales are more than expected they get reminded about RDR PC as well? :-??

        2. Never say never my friend. Brutal Legend for example came to PC way late when nobody expected it but it came. It’s always a possibility.

And yeah, eventually everything comes to PC via emulation.

    4. we already won last year 😀 add forza to that list.
didn’t they said FF XV will release on any next-gen and DX11 platforms ?

      1. LOL
1º – Different people, different tastes.

2º – I’m not supposed to like everything.
3º – I liked MGS, disliked MGS2, loved MGS3, then stopped caring about what’s going on on Kojima’s head.
        4º – Good/Bad, see number 1.

        1. If you loved MGS3, then you’ll like MGS5 as it continues the story of Big Boss.

MGS4 was awful because of the cutscene to gameplay ratio, but since MGS5 is open world there will be more gameplay this time around 🙂

          1. That’s my problem with MGS series, the bloody history. After a while, It just seems more and more of a stretch, It’s like AC. Gameplay wise seems good, but sadly it’s not enough to excites me, I need something to keep me going.

        2. “disliked MGS2, loved MGS3”

I FOUND YOUR PROBLEM! You have horrible taste in games! Let me guess you dislike mgs2 because of raiden but in reality you couldnt comprehend the post modernism storyline?

          1. Already said it, taste differs.
Raiden didn’t bother me, I just found MGS2 I don’t know, just really, really “bland”, not that from MGS2 the other games history improved or brouhgt “the second of coming of Jesus” to the table, but MGS3 just “wrapped” me more into playing and fininshing the game. I was just more interested.

And if you please, could stop with this “you don’t know what a good game is”, “you don’t understand $hit”. It just makes you look silly.

          2. Honestly not liking good games just makes you look like a plebeian. I bet your a console gamer who got a alienware “gaming” laptop from mommy last year and now think your PC master race. You arent.

          3. LOL and LOL again.
I do not have a good PC you are right, wich doesn’t makes me better or worse than another gamer (and just writing this sentence just goes to show how stupid this kinda of thinking is).
You are “bitching” (sorry for that, couldn’t find a better term) about a game that made history on the “can’tsoles” ant yet I am a “plebeian” for not being excited about it coming to PC.
And again, a game can be critically acclaimed and still not pleases everyone for a number of reasons.

          4. come on diffirent tastes, for one i enjoyed wolfenstein more than any other game in the last 5 years.

  3. Hopefully Silent Hills will come to PC as well. I played the p.t. last night, and crap it’s masterfully scary! Horror fans will love it. I still can’t finish the demo though as Kojima has literally made the last puzzle hard as hell! Some have completed it but everyone had their own variables. No ones found a straight cut way yet… Also so much to solve!

    1. Some friend brought to me a video, but I’m unsure if it’s the thing or not, so if you be so kind, please answer me: It’s the one with the never ending hallway, the fetus on the sink and all that weirdness?

      1. Yep that Silent Hill weirdness. The coolest thing is, that it is nerve wrecking.
There is this really cool feature, that you can get possessed, and if you do? Well you start hearing these dragging footstep everytime you move. Also, I got to the hallway that casts off your shadow while I was possessed and that shadow wasn’t mine, it started jerking so violently… scary sh## 😛

        1. Thanks for the answer, all I can say is that I am pleasantly surprised. I was very very skeptical when I’ve heard Kojima name on this, but hell, that is some experience, wish I could play it. Just seeing the video brought me the pi$$ shivers so now, I’m going to make some diapers stock to when that thing arrives.

          1. Yeah, it is definitely something. Hell you can really see that most of the scare tactics are crafted by Del Toro here! I am extremely happy that both Kojima and Del Toro are working on this! 😀

  4. This has to qualify as “one of the worst kept secrets ever” as Kojima has always teased there being a PC version since the announcement of the Fox engine. It’s nice that it’s now official though.

On the other hand this announcement is at least slightly overshadowed by Silent Hills for me. The reason is because I’m a bigger fan of Silent Hill than I am the Metal Gear series… I’m also a fan of Guillermo Del Toro who’s involved with this new Silent Hill game.

  5. I dont belive that guys :D. After last E3 I was worried, because I thought that I will have no reasons to upgrade my PC anymore :). But now I need to change my mind :D. It looks like PC gaming is still worth upgrading :). Thanks KONAMI 🙂

  6. While I’m glad it’s coming to PC but we also still need MGS3 & MGS4 on PC. I have no idea what happens in the storyline after MGS2.

    1. you dont need to know what happens after mgs2 in order to enjoy mgs5 , mgs 5 is sequel to mgs peace walker which was sequel to mgs3 , you must know mgs3 and PW , maybe MSX versions and MGS1 as well. of course you can always check MGS database online if you get stuck with the story, or even watch MGS4 playtrough on youtube. chronologically it goes mgs3/mgs:pw/mgsgz/mgstpp/mg/mg2ss/mgs1/mgs2/mgs4

mgs3 and pw are available on PC via emulator , so you can check that out

        1. portable ops is between MGS3 and PW , and is not really necessary as it is barely ever mentioned in later games. its being treated as non-canonical game. more like spin-off

    2. Ugh, keeping up with the Sequels/Prequels in Metal Gear is a nightmare.

But yeah like PC explained, the story isn’t linear, some Games are situated in the Cold War Era, some are situated in the 21st Century.

Metal Gear Solid V “Parts 1 & 2” are situated in 1974-1975 & 1984 respectively (no spoilers as to why). “Part 1” – Ground Zeroes starts just a few months after Peace Walker.

Now Snake Eater (situated in 1964) is the entire Series’ Prequel, so you’ll want that
      one, & its direct Sequels are Portable Ops (1970) (PSP-Exclusive), Peace Walker (1974), & MGS V (1975/1984).

Metal Gear & MG 2: Solid Snake are situated in the ’90s, while MGS, MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots, & MG Rising: Revengeance take place in the
21st Century, decades after MGS V.

    3. the whole storyline is a convuluted mess that has been rewritten a doesn times over.

Mgs3 is the first game in the series.. then it goes portable ops from psps, then peacewalker and then ground zeroes and phantom pain.

Then mgs 1 and 2 on pc and snes then solid 1 2 and mgs with rising in the end.

    1. Wil this SteamBox be avaliable in game ? Will we find it through the game and be able to use it to hide from the enemies?

  7. Now lets just hope that the new upcoming Silent Hill game will come to the Pc or else I just have to get a F*CKN PS4 just for it :/

The Silent Hill games are an ABSOLUTE MUST 🙂

    1. Hopefully it’ll be better than recent Silent Hill games though . Silent Hills (PT) seems like a new start for the series .

      1. Yeah true, but I even liked the Silent Hill Downpour, even tho it was kinda bad. I am just crazy about those games and cant seem to miss even one even how bad they may be ..LOL!

But now with Kojima San it surely can be really awesome, probably the best ever made so I cant wait, I think it’s the most game I am looking forward to!

        1. Downpour had some great ideas in my opinion. The open world littered with creepy side-quests worked so well. I hope we get that open-world with side quests with the next game as well.

I liked Downpour, didn’t play so good at times, but boy did it have that charm and creepiness of Silent Hill! That follow the ribbon sidequest was heartbreaking :'(

        2. also play cry of fear, grey a hl2 mod. you dont even need to install hl2 again, just drop it int he steam folder and it will run, afraid of monsters and ther are more..

          1. Alright, will definetly check that one out, just luuves a good scare!
Thanks a lot for the suggestion mate 🙂

      2. P.T. is scary as shit… I stopped playing that game after I got really scared. And I have never ever done that with any game!

      3. PT means playable trainer it was sary as h3ll, something that never happens to me, but as the end text said it has NOTHING to do with the actual game.
