Memories of Mars, open-world online sandbox survival, is coming to Steam Early Access on June 5th

505 Games and Limbic Entertainment have announced that their Unreal Engine 4-powered  open-world online sandbox survival game, Memories of Mars, will release on Steam Early Access on June 5th. In order to celebrate this announcement, 505 Games released a new trailer that you can watch below.

Featuring a rich and vast environment to explore and introducing a unique “seasons” mechanic to enhance the competition of surviving the Red Planet, Memories of Mars promises to set the stage for an otherworldly gaming experience designed to keep gameplay fresh. As the press release reads, in the unique Seasons, which sets Memories of Mars apart from other survival games, death will be inevitable for even the most skilled players as periodic catastrophic solar flares wipe the planet’s surface of all life and player-made infrastructures on an ongoing basis. Some of the talents and abilities learned through the season can be backed up and carried over by a series of clones, allowing players the ability to download previous memories of how to build and craft to get a head start on surviving the next season.

Memories of Mars will task players with surviving the harsh and unforgiving landscape of the Red Planet while building a habitable homestead and competing against other players and enemy NPCs for resources and opportunities. Players can team up to explore, gather resources and build defense bases or go rogue and explore numerous locations including abandoned terraforming towers, mining sites, caves, canyons, meteor impact sites and more. Seasons will also serve to make the map feel new, with familiar places rearranged in new locations, exciting points of interest never-before-seen, added blueprints for creating different weapons and modules, novel enemies, updated events and more.

Enjoy!

  1. Just a head up. can we mods try to keep DSO site a place for a fair discussion?

I mean, in all articles off Batlefield V conservative people talk soo much sheit /off topic posts about Batlefield V .

    Shm im worried.

    1. DSO is a site for fair discussion. Fair being that EVERYONE can say what they think within certain limits (ie. No threat of harm etc.). Conservatives are not to blame, it’s more liberal/democratic leaning mouth breathers like you (Clearly) who can’t handle a comment section full of varied opinions and temperaments. Stay worried.

      1. Varied? are you serious? This guys talk the same comment in all posts about Batlefield V. -__-‘

        1. Yes Varied, yes I’m serious. Any more inane questions? Who is the guy you’re talking about, I know English isn’t your first language but you’ve got to help me out here in understanding. Do you have a problem with one individual who keeps saying the same exact thing about BFV in a BFV article on the site?

        2. Just put him on ignore. he’s just a troll lacking some decency on how to behave in public.

          1. I wish one day to be of such a high moral standard as you keep yourself at all times. Then I can get nothing done, make no bold steps in my own life, possibly at the expense of others. Instead I’ll reap the cognitive (However dim) rewards of sitting back and judging other people for their opinion, that I may or may not disagree with strongly, based on the collective moral reasoning of a minority of cucks known as “Slayers” numbered 1 through 145.

        3. If you’re interested in artificially directing discussions away from certain ‘problematic’ topics maybe you’d find yourself at home in cesspits such as Resetera and Something Awful.

    2. I can fully understand your point of view, but I think it’s kind of hard to keep DSOG, or any other gaming website, or public forum, a place for civilized discussion.

Though, I’m not saying the comment section out here is not fair, but it seems according to JOHN, the readers have chosen to vote for some “unrestrained policy” rule last year, and this is what it says:

.”” Our readers can comment about anything they want. They can leave political or racist comments, and they can insult other members (who can defend themselves via the Comment section. Moderators are not required to protect them and they can leave all users to fight each other) “”..

I’ve been telling John with regards to Moderation over here as well, but as the readers have opted for the above policy, we don’t see any other alternative, at least for the time being.

I agree, sometimes things go out of context, but don’t take anything you read over the internet personally. Some of the articles have constructive discussion though.

This happens on most of the public forums as well, but you shouldn’t worry too much about all this.

Check this DSOG article where the above voting was done. I wasn’t there, when this poll took place, last year on october 2107:

Editorial – YOU can determine DSOGaming’s Comment Section Policy. I’m providing the link below.

      1. The people have spoken and you can say whatever you want. It’s a really beautiful thing that shouldn’t be taken away, lest you end up with an overly moderated site where the power tripping mods see fit to make their own utopia of a comments section, which leaves out so much variety in diverse opinions and world views that it’s sickening. People can moderate themselves and others naturally, by using the tools already available to them in terms of blocking.

This site is beautiful in the way that you CAN say racist hateful things, but do you see it? I don’t at all. It’s the sites that people try to over moderate that end up being the ones where people will go to be toxic, because it’s against the rules. And doing something that is allowed (Racism, cursing) just isn’t as much fun. I wish people would take more accountability in their lives, and block/ignore people who they strongly disagree with or find offensive, you don’t need to cry to the mods or the government for help. HELP YOURSELF!

Have you ever been to any site that’s over-moderated? It’s a sickeningly sterile environment where people KNOW they’ll be punished, so they end up all saying the same thing. BORING! USELESS!

        1. You misunderstood my reply. I don’t have anything against the above policy.

I understand what you are trying to convey, and it’s true to some extent as well.

I was just replying to the OP, since he/she brought up this issue.

          1. Take your own advice and shove it up your azz while you’re at it. See what I mean? It’s beautiful.

      2. I think it was meant to be an experiment for 1 year and things could change with the policy here after that period. The whole thing started because John didn’t want so much political stuff like comments about SJW and gamergate in the comments section but then left it up to the members to choose. Frankly I am surprised that it has gone as well as it has. My initial thought was that the comment sections would turn into one user attacking another and then the inevitable string of comebacks making the comment sections not worth reading. So far that hasn’t happened.

      3. Im not worried anymore lol . anyways, the state of the comments section on DSO these days is pretty sad.. Up until 7 months ago there were no toxic users here. Sorry for my honest rant.

  2. I was interested until the words “survival” and “sandbox”. Typically that means no fun for me.

      1. Nah i’m good. You could always blog about your wanting me to blog about it if you’d like.
