LA Noire The VR Case Files has just been released on the PC and Rockstar Games revealed the game’s official PC requirements (via its Steam store page). According to the team, PC gamers will need specific CPU+GPU combos as the game does not support systems that feature AMD’s CPUs with AMD’s GPUs.
As such, owners of an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU will have to use an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (or above) graphics card in order to play. On the other hand, owners of an AMD Vega 56 graphics card will have to use an Intel i7 6700 (or above) CPU.
Furthermore, the game does not support SLI or Crossfire. Rockstar also stated that over time programming changes will change the system requirements for this game.

Ill check this out, i didnt recon much to L.A Noir though I appreciate where the devs were going with it and I think it could be a good fit for VR.
So in summary,
– Oculus Rift explicitly not supported (“headset not supported” message when trying to boot game via headset other than Vive, according to VRfocus(dot)com)
– “internet connection required for… periodic entitlement verification”
– Minimum spec GPU is GTX 1070 when VR is ordinarily GTX 960 or GTX 970
– “Attempting to use an AMD CPU and AMD GPU together… is not supported at this time”
– Rockstar Games Social Club mandatory requirement
– “NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFire features are not supported”
– Windows 7 not officially supported
– one month delayed release
What a farce.
I keep trying to find out if there’s a “free roam” mode where I can just go on a virtual tour of 30s Los Angeles and can’t get an objective answer on it.
If it had free roam I’d buy it immediately for my Odyssey.
Not sure if the VR version has free roam. I’d guess 90% it does.
The standard game for sure does tho. You can collect hidden film reels and scout out famous landmarks in old LA.
I watched a gameplay video and apparently it does have a free roam mode and even more surprisingly it has armswinger locomotion so it’s definitely an insta-buy for me now.
Just so you know it doesn’t support the odyssey, there was a hack released that allowed the rift to play it by the same guys responsible for revive. I don’t know if WMR will work with the same hack though.
I’ll give it some time for a patch or something. I have 135 VR games on my wishlist, anyways, and plan to get 10-20 of them for Xmas. lol I can wait for Noire.
You may want to add vanishing realms to that list. It was a really good early VR game that is still one of my absolute favorites.
Oh, I have that. 🙂
Is this a joke ?
1070 for L.A Noire gtfoh
