Just Cause 4 feature

Just Cause 4 and Hitman 2 will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech

Square Enix and Warner Bros have just updated the Steam store pages for Just Cause 4 and Hitman 2, revealing that these two highly anticipated games will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. And to be honest, we are not surprised at all as both of these companies have been using this tech in all of their latest titles.

Just Cause 4 will be an open-world title whereas Hitman 2 will feature big areas with a huge crowd. As such, it will be interesting to see whether these games will not mess things up with their Denuvo implementation.

It’s also worth pointing out that IO Interactive had removed Denuvo from the first Hitman as soon as it got the IP rights from Square Enix. Unfortunately, though, it appears that its inclusion in Hitman 2 is something that the new publisher, Warner Bros, forced (we are merely guessing here, unless IO Interactive also plans to remove Denuvo when and if Hitman 2 gets cracked).

We also expect Electronic Arts to be using Denuvo in Battlefield 5. While its Origin page does not feature any indication of such a thing, EA has been using lately Denuvo in pretty much all of its titles.

Speaking of open-world games with the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, modder Kaldaien has claimed that the high CPU load in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey isn’t caused by the Denuvo but by insane driver overhead.

Just Cause 4 releases on December 4th whereas Hitman 2 releases on November 13th!

  1. What made you think, they won’t include so-called DENUVO anti-tamper in the first place ? This was pretty much expected for AAA games.

And this “Kaldaien” guy can claim all he want, but we ain’t trusting this modder anymore. *sigh*

    1. As for Hitman,I think IO won’t use it when they still independent, but now they are in WB hand which is one of denovu supporter…

  2. for those who are wondering where the source of this news is check cracwatch on reddit, john checks it regularly too.

    1. What about my subreddit Crackwatch. Where you watch the market value of crack and crack accessories.

    1. Well, considering how badly JC3 went for them, I’m still a little surprised they made another one so soon……

  3. Wait a second i thought Square Enix parted ways with IO interactive and woudn’t publish Hitman games anymore! What did i miss?

          1. pre ordered one episode to see how it is then bought 3 more episodes then they released special episodes but only to those who bought the whole game, i had to buy the whole thing again so instead i downloaded the whole thing from fit girl.

    1. Yes they parted ways…but then IO search new publisher for their games and Warner Bros step in…a publisher that worse than SE…

  4. not everyone has your exact taste in video games. the world does not cater to you and only your interests. other people like other Games.

          1. just because you dont see hype dont mean it dont exist. its the 4th installment of the just cause series, clearly they are doing just fine if they are making a 4th one.

          2. As I already said, considering how badly JC3 went for them, I’m still surprised they made another one so soon.

          3. Right now there are 6000 people playing jc3, id say for a almost 4 year old single player game that ain’t bad

          4. And? In order to deliver this soon, JC4 likely went into development right after JC3 launched, or, at least, shortly afterwards, which means it launched in the shadow of the endless controversy that was persecuting JC3 after its initial launch.

That in turn implies they purposefully neglected proper post-launch support for JC3 (which, by the way, continues to remain broken to this day for many users), in order to focus more on JC4, even though JC3 underperformed in regards to sales.

Games that underperform don’t usually get sequels, especially not when the underperforming game in question was never fully repaired and remains a mark on the developer’s reputations to this day – well, not unless they’re called Battlefield, Call of Duty, or something on that scale, anyway.

    1. games are like any other entertainment industry like music, movies and etc. the more you play the more critical you become so his taste is probably superior to your average joe.

        1. nothing is based on individuals opinion, opinion of a 15 years old or a cod buying rytard is that a game like pillars of eternity is garbage. opinions are some type of defense mechanism that low iq rytards use them to shield themselves.

  5. You think they would be on number 4 if people weren’t buying/playing these games?

    Seems pretty obvious to me…

  6. of course we do! I PLAY ALL ACTION GAMES! AND KILL THEM ALL! CANT WAIT TO KILL ALL ENEMIES! WHY DO YOU THINK WE DONT LIKE JUST CAUSE?!
