Microsoft has shared the debut in-engine trailer for inXine’s Unreal Engine 5-powered RPG, called Clockwork Revolution. This will be a first-person action RPG, and does not currently have any release date. Clockwork Revolution gave me Bioshock Infinite-vibes, so that’s a good thing (at least IMO). So pretty much every new game these days has a black female protagonist. Is there any reason existing ips like alan wake need to replaced with a black female too? This disgusting woke practice must be punished.

Well gaming like every other medium is going through a phase which I think will die down at some point. It’s like how almost 90-95% of protagonists during the golden era of gaming were all white men. Complaints about that ramped up through the years which led to where we are now and I think all the complaints we’re seeing nowadays will usher in something else.
I’m still hopeful about an alternative industry which needs to challenge all the ethics and ideologues running the whole system, but people should at least try to understand why all of this is even happening in the first place.

Activision removed DLC from COD which promoted a streamer who recently made the remark “leave little children alone”. If things like that aren’t enough to give anyone an incentive to stop supporting these companies, especially when it repeatedly happens, then yeah perhaps the alternative won’t happen any time soon. But at this rate it seems like the only logical thing to happen with the way things are heading.

I know exactly what you’re saying. I’m aware of the cabal’s attempt of spreading their perverse agenda in every aspect of our societies and introducing newer ways to suppress our ability to think and speak freely. But I also believe in karma and that these types of mind control and manipulation can’t last forever. Believing that there’s no out in a situation like this isn’t going to help anyone and I also know that having an unrealistic vision for the future doesn’t do anyone any favours either. I’m analysing things in their current state and I’m seeing opportunities all around which I think everybody needs to realise as well.
I see things happening in the Comicsgate community which has so much potential in my mind. And all the positive things coming out of the administrations in Florida and perhaps other red states is proving that democracy isn’t dead… At least not yet. So long as the red states maintain their foothold and build upwards rather than to remain stagnant on whatever it is they spent most of their time focusing on then great things can indeed be produced these places. And this is coming from someone who has lost so much respect for the US and the West in general in the recent years.

Isn’t that one of the key things that is currently missing in the AAA industry? The fact that these games are not designed to appeal to the enthusiasts? I’m pretty sure whenever people complained about something in the past we’d often tell that individual to go off and make that thing if they felt so strongly about it. Meanwhile there are passionate people who are precisely making the kind of things that normally you and I would spend money on but instead you’d prefer to fixate on all the negative stuff and have this pessimistic view on the future.

It’s clear that there’s a market for the alternative business but it won’t happen if we continue to have this defeatist outlook on everything.
When all these major companies like EA, Ubisoft or Rockstar Games started off did you think that they established their studio in some gigantic building consisting of thousands of employees, most whom are strangers to one-another, or did they start off as a bunch of passionate dudes living in some rented rooms with tight budgets? Even during that time people would call them crazy for trying to do something that was unheard of but they did it anyway.
Also, the last time I checked Steam, GOG, Itch io and other platforms on PC host a lot of NSFW games. A lot of the woke policies are normally found on consoles. Although when it comes to the more mainstream products PC gamers normally have to deal with the censorship BS too since all platforms would inevitably get penalised for not complying. Saudi Arabia will not be able to sell FFXVI since SE refused to remove the LGBT content in the game which SA does not wish to have in their region. The same thing can happen easily to any platform like Steam if they went down the same path as SA.

It was the major demography at the time, and still are. Nobody in the china, russia, india, east europe or latin america complained about the presence of a straight white male protagonist. And still don’t. Most male gamers regardless of ethniticities could and still can relate to a strong male protagonist, no matter the skin colour.
I agree. I’ve been gaming since early-mid 90s and never complained about the scarcity of black protagonists. In franchises like Mass Effect I always played as the default Shepard as shown in promotions rather than to create a dude who resembled me since I always saw the default look as the main hero. When games like the first season of The Walking Dead came out I thoroughly enjoyed it but the lead character’s ethnicity wasn’t a thing I cared about or what made me appreciate his presence. Everything about him and all the other characters felt organic to the world, as did most other games during that time period.
Don’t get me wrong though, it’s always a great thing to see more characters of other ethnic backgrounds or cultures when they’re done right (Prey 2006 is another great example), but like many others I just want characters that are fleshed out and created to be believable instead of being inserted in as some tokenised figure which will inevitably be forgotten in time. It is excruciating to see so many faces being thrown in to things where they don’t belong but like I said this is a phase which has to run its course eventually. And while I did bring up the whole complaints issue I should have been clear on who exactly started all that commotion. But I think we already know who it is since they are the usual suspects of all our problems of today: the non-gamers, activists, journalists who are paid by unknown entities to slander everything we love about this hobby.
I think regardless of political beliefs most of the male demographics can relate to men of demographic other than their own, and that goes for gaming as well. Simply speaking when it comes to roleplay and putting one into somebody else’s shoes most male gamers can’t relate to anybody other than a straight male protagonist, Like in overwatch, gamers started ignoring soldier 76 once he came out. Gaming industry never lacked diversity. We had plenty of male protagonists of different race and ethnicities. There was no huge outcry about any of them. It mostly started coming from feminists and simp journos who are all misandrists. They simply hate that men have created most fanbase and space of their own in gaming industry. This is why there is now a huge shift in how a male protagonist is portrayed these days. Two good examples are nathan drake in uncharted 4 and kratos in new gow games. They are complete vegetarian compared to their old selves. The misandry is reason why femininity of today’s female characters are almost non existent. They also kick out any authenticity and realism just so the female characters will always remain strong and independent no matter the situation.
Yeah, the change in how females are portrayed is also purposefully done to drive away the “male gaze problem” which apparently plagued the whole industry and culture for quite some time, according to them. It’s why we see some of the most dysgenic looking characters to ever be realised in entertainment these days. Its been going on for so long but in a way it looks like we’re reaching a breaking point with all the things happening in the manosphere.
When more people begin to notice that this industry is never going back to the way it once was and that we’d have to give up on all these legacy IPs in order to start fresh then we’ll certainly end up in a better place than where we are right now. I’m always questioning what will it take exactly for people to finally come to their senses but it just seems like most of us have this undying hope that maybe the next EA, Ubisoft or Acivision game will rekindle that same feeling they once had during the golden era when all these companies used to be all about innovation and fan service. A lot of that innovation can be found in the indie space but I suppose they don’t provide that sort of premium quality they normally expect to find in a multimillion-dollar budget game.

I mean Tomb Raider was, and still is, one of the best selling games of all time. But Tomb Raider didn’t have a female protagonist to push a political narrative.
People don’t want to see feminist politics pushed into their game.
For example, people don’t want to see a black Little Mermaid or black Cleopatra. They don’t want to see female Ghosbusters. They don’t want to see female soldiers in a game about WW1 that is supposedly historically accurate.

Back in my days, most FPS-RPGs gave us the possibility to even complete entire levels without killing anybody, through the use of stealth, speech choices, hacking, whatever. These games were DEEP.
