Hitman 3 will be now timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store

IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 3 will be timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store. For the first time ever, the team will self-publish this new Hitman game. As such, IO Interactive believes that a partnership deal with Epic Games was the best route for such a thing.

Hakan Abrak, CEO at IO Interactive, said:

“Self-publishing Hitman 3 is a big step for IO Interactive in achieving our highly ambitious goals as an independent studio. Furthermore, this partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create the game exactly as we imagined, for our fans and for our community uncompromised.”

Hitman 3 is the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy, taking players around the world on a globetrotting adventure to sprawling sandbox locations, with Agent 47 returning for the most important contracts of his career. The game will be using the Glacier Engine

Hitman 3 will act as a platform for the entire trilogy, allowing players to import locations that they own from previous HITMAN games. And, as IO Interactive confirmed, this feature will be available on the Epic Games Store version.

The team has also revealed that the first Hitman game will be available for free next week on EGS.

Lastly, IO Interactive released a brand new trailer this new Hitman game.

Enjoy!

  1. It’s funny how mad people like you get over other people wanting a game on their platform of choice and don’t mind calling out PC games being platform specific. Epics launcher and store are trash, China dataminers.

I’ll happily torrent this game now, if I even bother to play it.

    1. Sony makes their games…what games Epic did? people gets mad when they remove choice…how is that funny for you?

      1. What if I decide to wear a mask in the car because I need to pickup somebody or take it off and put it back on when I get out of the car?

    2. well id be mad if it was exclusive forever, personally i normally only buy games many months after they release (theyre more polished, normally cheaper and have some more updates as well) so this does nothing to me and they even get more money out of it. win win if you ask me

  2. Cool. Let me know when it’s not tethered to some server that will disappear someday, then we’ll talk.

Until then, feel free to hoard another lemon, EGS. Seems to be the only thing you’re good at.

    1. Man i hate wannabe pirates, real pirates doesn’t make morality excuses, or any excuse for that matter, for pirating what they want.

  3. IO Interactive Never cease to amaze me. For all of you that still think it’s ONLY these filthy publishers, THINK AGAIN! IO Interactive learned alot from Square Enix it seems.

    1. It’s funny that when they left people rejoiced and showed support to them. Now it’s the opposite. Selling their soul

      1. People just make wrong assumptions, maybe the only thing that happened after the left Squenix was to drop Denuvo and that’s it, their bullsh!t GaaS methods still reign.

      2. Bruh, they sold their soul right away as they left. I remember the day they left, i was excited. cheering and saying, yes, here comes a GOG release.. No more DRm. HAHAHA, boy was i made to eat sh*t only days later when they announced they went into bed with WB. And just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, here we are. IO Interactive is a piece of Sh*t and always will be. Most of all to never forget, They NEVER ONCE Listened to their FANBASE. The main thing everyone asked for they never once get, FOR THEM TO STOP THIS ALWAYS-ONLINE GARbAGE!. There’s literally no reaosn for it. They tried defending it so damn much and we finally saw what we were afraid of with Hitman absolution. After a couple years contracts was dead, so in the DRM Free version you get no contracts because the servers are offline. And they didn’t even care to enable it for offline play. You wait until This hitman goes offline years later, 78% of the game will be dead AF. They are basically criminals at this point if you ask me. These people do not care about the preservation of games.

  4. NOICE, it looks like its made in the past back then when games had style and werent unbearable millennial cringe.

Also free on epic store? NOICE X2

So is hitman 3 a episodic thing or full game on release?

  5. i just dont get this dumbfckery. Hitman absolution contracts are permanently not accessible due to this decision and they did it again. wtf? Wouldnt it make more sense to make a mission editor and let people use mods to keep the game alive forever?

    1. Blood and Money was the peak of the series imo, and the last two ones are a shadow of what that game was (and still is)…

          1. For me the biggest letdown in the new games is the lack of atmosphere compared to the originals, lack of Jesper Kyd music and formulaic approach to level design, which is basically a couple of big sandbox levels. The new ones still got quality to show, but not much soul.

          1. The fact that you hate a country that minds his own business over America invalidates your “dislike” of America.

      1. Yea essentially, they throw tons of money at them to snipe them away from other platforms, theyve been doing this for a while now, its been obnoxious for a while but lately its just been anger-inducing. Mortal shell and the tony hawk games are the 2 that really pissed me off to no end.

        1. yea i know what they do but they want their store to succeed so that approach makes sense from their PoV. just saying its developers that take the deal

          1. Yea to be fair I agree that square is also just as much to blame as epic, im just really tired of how aggressive they are on poaching exclusives.

          2. If i where a steam fan, i would be mad at Steam for not being agressive in securing games instead.

          3. So you think Steam should do nothing instead? Ok then, Epic will continue doing what they do, life goes on.

          4. This has nothing to do with steam, this is Epic, the dev/publishers & their endless bag of Fortnite money. Bruh, none of what you’re saying applies here. I can’t even begin to explain how what you are saying doesn’t make a lick of sense.

          5. Steam has an endless bag of money too, they could make the same strategy if they wanted, or even better. Sorry brah, i’ll shill for the store that gives me free games with multiplayer.

          6. Dude, listen and listen well; I don’t give a flying FUQ about steam, Epic, uplay or origins. They are all the same sh*t. Same prison, different wardens. SO please Go defend your BS elsewhere. If it ain’t DRM-FREE I don’t really care. You’re the only one here running around with this epic vs steam and why doesn’t steam do XYZ. When these are all just stores. Epic went and took a step further than beyond a store to being a Dop Sh*T Draconinan retail front.

          7. > I don’t give a flying FUQ about game stores
            > Epic is the worse game store

            I see through your bullsh!t.

          8. Why would steam “secure” games? That’s the dumbest sh*t I’ve ever heard. Steam is a store not a shark tank.

          9. Exclusivity deals dude, don’t be dense. Two can play this game, and i’ll shill for the store that can do that and offer free games every week.

          10. The pc platform shoud not be exclusives here and exclusives there. Its a console thing what makes no sence on one platform….

          11. Nah, the PC always had this, Steam is not entitled to hoard all the games made for PC, nor do they want, that’s why they have curation.

        2. Steam could compete if they wanted. They don’t NEED a ridiculous 30 percent cut. Get mad at them. Gaben clearly doesn’t care about you or your money. They’re not even trying.

    1. If you live in America, take some of your money, buy some Epic stocks and I guarantee you 100% you will be celebrating when Epic does this.

Games are a business first and foremost. We need to accept that.

  6. Jesus, looks like today you’re on a crusade for EGS spanning several gaming websites.
Some people choose to stay away from Epic, try to deal with it.

    1. ND?Nope. I don’t want to play as bulky muscle bald wahmen. If i want to give it to another dev,my choice is Quantic Dreams so we can enjoy shower scene and white panties…plus supernatural and alien Hitman.

  7. Translated as: “we just love big bags of money and we don’t actually care about our customers”.

Cool story, don’t need to bother with Hitman going forward then.

          1. Ah.. Ok.. Your interests….. What is? Be under 24/7 surveillance? Go in jail if you dont agree with the ccp?

          2. Can you burn an LGBT flag without going to prison or being massively slandered where you live?

          3. Bullsh!t, pics or it didn’t happen. Good reminder that the majority of Chinese approves of the government, but you only trust negative stories that comes from this place.

          4. Lmao, just wait and see, despite you not liking western propaganda, you repeat all it’s talking points, but hey, if i did say that western propaganda is not effective, i would be lying.

          5. Don’t take my word for it, just wait and see which foreign power will demand change in your society .

  8. GaaS is one of the reasons i prefer the old games, even Absolution. But i really don’t see much point in playing the same mission over and over.

      1. “Yeah cuz the cgi scenes wilo make a game good”

Who said that? A full motion CGi cutscene from Hitman ™ beats the slideshow cutscenes from it’s sequel, is what i’m saying.

        1. Epic is in a position to give so much away due to the margins it makes from Fortnight micro transactions. Since Apple and Google have banned Fortnight from their stores, this will affect these deals in some way or another over the next few months.

        2. Well Epic hardly does any money with Epic store. With their last report they made like 200 million from Epic store and that does not take in to account all the free games they need to pay for and the bribe bags they give to the publishers.

Sounds like a negative business funded by mobile Fortnite

  9. Makes sense. I always felt the last 2 Hitman games were not huge successes. Personally… while I thought they were quality games… I just didn’t really like the massive open world. I really liked the smaller areas from previous games. Absolution was almost linear but it was probably my favourite. It still holds up really well too. I don’t really have any interest in Hitman 3 personally. Didn’t even finish 2.

On a side note… I used to hate epic game store. But the store has grown… Has given a ton of great free games and I have bought a few in great sales too. I really don’t mind it anymore. Sure I still prefer Steam… But ehh… it’s good devs can make easy money and then be free to do whatever they want. It is a business after all. Nobody is making games for you because they love you. Gotta do what is best and right for them. I don’t give a shiz anymore really. I don’t buy a ton of games anyways.

    1. Epic has become a type of kingmaker in regards to the game quality, it’s basically a second publisher. In Hitman 2, the beautiful CGi scenes from their previous game got turned into a pathetic slideshow lmao, so let’s hope Epic Money can at least improve the quality of the game.

    2. Epic will probably only ever be good for free games. It is a waste of time to spend money on that platform when better options are available.

      1. I won’t disagree. I have only bought games on it with the really good sales or ubi games since they link to your ubi account and you don’t need to use the epic launcher afterwards

  10. Just don’t forget about protecting Epic’s money from Apple and Google. Come one guys, get enlisted. Fight two megacorps for the third one that screws you over.

  11. But i got the entire collection on Steam + all the DlC’s i am a huge fan and the game scales perfect on PC so they worth every single penny but on EPIC I don’t want my games on EPIC its not that user friendly

  12. When a studio turns its back on a fan favorite platform, that’s when I turn my back on them and wont support them.

  13. Awesome news. Just love when the a*s kissers Gabe followers Cult, get this in their faces!
Keep en coming, and for me I would love even more if all games would only come to EPIC!

F*ck that fat f*ckr Gabe with ripping of devs, Go EPIC – Tim is the man!

    1. Yeah because the best way to fight extremists is to be extremist yourself, right?
Nice brain you got there, pretty new, barely used. Wanna sell it?

  14. All these morons spending money on Epic, while those with a brain pick exclusives up for free.

    Epic, make piracy great again.
